Pete Perkins has quite a reputation of jerking people around based on the other review and our own experience with him. He was contracted to sell kitchen cabinets through Floors and Kitchens Today and we are still suffering the results of his awful cabinet supply and customer service. I had water damage and had No idea the headache that would consume my life for 7 months. I will say this .GO WITH YOUR GUT!!!  I DID NOT!! because of the new kitchen design Pete showed me ... I 100% wished I stopped there.... He sold me on fact that he could do it all...FACT he cannot!!!! The only time Pete came to the house was to collect a check ....and that is because I refuse to pay on line( I am old shcool). His plumber ( who claims to be the BEST EVER) FLOODED MY HOUSE..( Red flag). His insulation guy covered  6 new outlets.  His plaster trashed my furniture( guess they didn't think they needed to cover anything) . And after the third time the plaster came back  I finally  came to the conclusion..it is what it is.The First  carpenter  sold me on a dream that he could do other work for me( not in scope of my contract) way cheaper than Pete could. I admit  my fault for bitting that line! NOT ONLY WAS  THE "SIDE WORK" he did for me horrible  but he did it on "THE CLOCK" ( which was unbeknownst to me at the time) was a nightmare!! I guess anyone can be a carpenter these days ...SHOUT OUT TO GASHI SOLUTIONS!!! THANK FOR NOTHING!!!  This guy was so bad....not only did he screw me but he even took  wood from my house that he had no right to.( from his BOSS PETE). DURIM GASHI is so shady and is level of craftsmanship so poor that I had to tell Pete he is  not allowed to work on my house anymore. NOW his floor guy, what a migraine!!! This guy installed a multi color  floating floor on my second level and didn't realize it was multi color till the third box!!! I asked him to fix it...His response " oh that is too much work..I didn't realize,  until the third box". SHOUT OUT TO TIGER FLOOR!!! Thank you for taking it upon yourself to use my priceless lamp that I got in Dubai  20 YEARS AGO AND BREAKING IT!!! ( PETE NEVER TRIED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT)  the floor did get fixed After a little back and forth.( not sure if he did it right..time will tell)  THEN the same guy refinished my hardwood floors.  He broke in to house one day because no one was there to let him him NEWS FLASH he wasn't  supposed to be there that day. I am sure at the point you know where this leads...  Yes you are correct!!! The floors need to be redone. There are foot prints air bubbles and dust partials between the polyurethane coats. Oh did I happen to mention the floor guy cut my cable lines? So he didn't have to work around them!. Ok let's move on..( at this point I am stuck with pete because he pulled the building permit). My cabinets  finally arrived ( covid pushed them back. 3 months later ..I get it). And the delivery guys ( pete.'s guys).. would not bring them all into the house. Apparently geometry is not their strong point. After they beat the crap out of my conner cabinet because they couldn't wrap their head around  flipping the unit . It was left outside  for a week. So at this point EVERYTHING  Pete has touched  has been redone. FACT!!!! I told pete " I will get the granite cut because I have one shot to get it right". FACT!! Pete had the audacity to say his guys wouldn't screw it up! Really? The granite was  3x my budget ( it is super pretty) DO YOU THINK I SHOULD TRUST HIM?..so now its Christmas,  I go into the basement and see the new footings that pete installed, or should I say his employee Durim Gashi, Are seeping water. Since 2004 I never saw water in my basement! Told Pete  what was happening...his solution was a top coat sealant.  Obviously I called the building inspector. ( thank you Norwood town officials you guys are an asset )  and they confirmed the footings  were installed incorrectly.( not to mention everything I have in the basement is covered in concrete dust. You guessed it!!! No hepa filter or tenting needed for Pete to rape you of your money)If you are keeping score my " punch list is out of control). I told pete you need to fix the footings ASAP. his response was "when can I sent the floor guy back? ".  His punch list was too big for my conform level. Pete is so greedy that he is more concerned on getting every penny rather than fixing/ addressing all the " mistakes/inferior work"  that has been done to date. Enough is enough!!! So Pete broke my tile floor in kitchen NEVER FIXED IT- NEVER GAVE ME MY SPICE RACK- NEVER INSTALLED MY OVEN VENT--NEVER FINISHED MY KITCHEN-NEVER FINISH THE WORK!!!!!!  IF YOU ARE KEEPING SCORE..... I THINK PETE OWES Me something more than an excuse. Oh did I mention  the contract due date has passed and Pete WENT DARK!!!!! THE PEMIT IS STILL OPEN!!!! This guy is the same owner of kitchen Annex only has excuses never takes any responsibility or accountability. I worked with Pete and his crew for a kitchen installation and had a great experience from start to finish. After the initial design, Pete walked through the estimates, which were broken down line-by-line, as we went through the house showing what needed to be done. For one line item specifically, he was upfront and transparent that the cost might be higher depending on what would be seen during the construction and let us know in advance the worst case scenario in terms of pricing. Pete also was able to accommodate two last minute changes on our end. During the entire process him and his Co-workers for professional and did quality work. Extremely happy with the end results and the project was done quicker than anticipated and on budget. read more

Pete Perkins called us and set up an appointment to come to our house to look at our kitchen because we want to remodel. He was 25 minutes late when I called him and he said that he got busy at the office. He had no intention of calling or showing up. How do people do business like that? Pete is a poor project manager. He did not run our project efficiently and we had to stay on top of every step because he rarely has his staff or subcontractors doing the work he said they would do. Pete has many excuses for why work is not done and the veracity of some of his excuse is questionable. Additionally, the quality of some of the work is substandard and needed to be redone. Unfortunately, Pete does not actual check on the work being done and we had to stay on top of every step to make sure it got done with some degree of quality. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience with Pete Perkins of Compass Solutions / Floors & Kitchens Today. The project scope encompassed: installing hardwood & a runner on a staircase, kitchen & family room floors; new kitchen cabinets / granite counter tops; adding an island and new bathroom tile with vanity. The estimated 4-6 week project lasted 14 weeks due to problems at each and every step of the way. Our tag line for our project has been "there is never time to do it right but there is always time to do it over". There was absolutely nothing done right the first time! We have learned that when working with Pete you can expect a complete lack of communication / issues with coordinating & scheduling sub-contractors, zero quality control and the need to either text or call him because he does not pay attention to the multi-page emails you will be sending him to tell him the status of his work, what needs to be fixed, or scheduled to be done over. Read on for a few highlights of our nightmare with Pete Perkins of Compass Solutions / Floors & Kitchens Today. During the "courting" stage Pete did a great job of selling us on his experience, industry expertise and ability to project manage. He could not have been more courteous, polite or professional and he did help us with some new & creative ideas for the kitchen's design. The demo process started and the sub-contractors removed the cabinets, floors and capped off the plumbing. Unfortunately, put several dings in the walls & floors and cracked the tile in the foyer which Pete did replace at his cost. All of the baseboard molding was removed during the demo prior to the floors being installed. When re-installed, we brought to Pete's attention that there was significant damage to it. We suggested that it would be less time consuming to re-install new molding than to repair, prep and re-paint the original. We ended up purchasing, prepping and painting new molding and Pete's contractor installed it. During the first few days of the cabinet install we had to inform Pete that the kitchen sink was put in off-center under a window and the refrigerator panels & lazy susan were not what we had specified. Unfortunately, even after providing the new appliance specifications and questioning the design (in writing), the incorrect refrigerator panels were still ordered, twice. Because we relocated the refrigerator, part of the job included taking down two walls that enclosed it in its original location. The holes in the walls and ceiling were attempted to be fixed by a painter. After several attempts to repair Pete eventually hired a plasterer to come in and tear down the entire wall. After several visits the plasterer completed installing the wallboard, primed and painted. The job was so horrible the plasterer came back several times to affect repair and we had to complete the final finish work & painting ourselves. After the granite was installed we notified Pete that the dish soap dispenser was cut on the wrong side of the faucet. As it turns out the installer never completely prepped or sealed the granite after it was installed. The granite for the kitchen island was also not cut to our specification. Pete offered to have it removed and re-cut but we opted not to given the history of nothing being done right the first (or second, third, etc...) time. These are just a few highlights of our experience. Before we closed the project we identified work that was either not provided or work that was not completed by Pete's people (we did it!). Pete did recognize this and accepted the suggested deductions. In addition, we listed twelve items under a "customer experience" category that we would have expected Pete to take into consideration and make concessions for. No dice! read more
