My wife and I decided to escape Ogden for an evening and decided to stay the night in Huntsville. After reviewing the lodging options in the Valley, we decided to pay a visit to The Compass Rose Lodge, and we were not disappointed. We loved the modern farmhouse loft aesthetic. It's a little rustic, but with clean modern lines. It's like Apple Store meets mountain lodge. The room (along with the rest of the lodge) was spotless, and the bed, super comfy. I loved all the small details, like the log gage rack is solid wood and real leather, and the chairs in the room were also real leather. One of the cool details was how the bathroom mirror has a heated center, so it doesn't fog up while you shower. Each side table next to the bed had two USB plugs too, which is always appreciated. Our complimentary breakfast was enjoyed in the cafe. My wife had an amazing chocolate muffin, and I had a breakfast sandwich made from a delicious sausage patty and egg on a fresh toasted croissant. And the coffee was fresh and spectacular! We were very interested in the observatory, but were too tired to partake of the tour, so we will have to swing by another night to check it out.

What a gem. This lodge is stunning, welcoming, peaceful, and charming. The entire crew is friendly and always willing to help and assist. I was able to meet the owner, Jeff. What a cool guy! And Ashley! The GM, what a peach. I highly recommend this lodge even if it's for a few nights. The rooms are beautifully designed, the observatory is so neat, and the tipis are gorgeous. If you're lucky enough to get Scott for your tour guide for the observatory - you're in for a real treat. The town is darling... I could go on and on. Don't pass this place up, you'll be sorry!

Cutest little place! We were looking for somewhere new and an adventure and it was just that. It's brand new - pre Covid and I'm so glad it made it through. There are only 15 rooms total, which means less people! I love that hahaha It felt very country and like we were out there alone, not crowded or over stuffed. The rooms were so sleek and minimal, with the little farmhouse touch. Just my taste. The icing on the cake was the observatory. My husband found this place and knew He'd get bonus points because of the tour. Our tour guide Steve was the best! He had all the added humor to make it fun and interesting at the same time. I can't wait to go back and take my kids. They will geek out more than me..... maybe. The lobby was so peaceful and quiet I wanted to stay forever. And the teepees outside were just the extra fun cherry on top. Everyone should get away to compass rose. You'll wanna stay forever.... Or at least return soon.

We decided to stay at this hotel while skiing at SnowBasin and we were beyond impressed. This hotel is like a ski museum. The owner (Jeff) explained each unique artifact in detail. Jeff allowed us to tour a tepee (which you can reserve), tour the observatory, and roast s'mores outside at the fire pit! The hotel rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. The breakfast was delivered to our door early and we had yogurt, banana chocolate chip bread, orange juice, and a chocolate bread. For dinner, we went to the Shooting Star Saloon (the oldest saloon west of Mississippi). We HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone/everyone traveling in this area. We will definitely be returning.

We booked a room upstairs and downstairs and both were incredibly comfortable. I'm really picky about mattresses and a horrible clean freak and everything passed the test. The host and hostess served an amazing breakfast. We had bacon, eggs, ham, croissants, pancakes, coffee, and OJ. The kids and I devoured pretty much everything. The grounds are peaceful and quiet and the snow was so beautiful. I highly recommend booking your stay here. It's worth every penny.

Wow pretty much sums up our stay at The Valley House inn!!!!!…read more My wife and I were on a 3 week motorcycle trip through the Pacific Northwest. We left Teton Village to Huntsville a day earlier than expected but we did not realize that until we arrived at The Valley Inn. Rachel the owner/host greeted us at the door and was surprised to see us a day early. My wife and I were surprised as well. Rachel took charge and accommodated us. Rachel was extremely attentive to our needs and showed us around the place and some of its history. The Valley Inn is a beautiful historical house that has been well maintained. Both inside and out of the house was beautiful. Although the online photos of the place are amazing they just don't give it enough credit. There are laundry facilities on site that cane in handy for us since we were traveling by motorcycle. There is a kitchen, dining room and living room that we had access to as well as the beautiful front, side and backyard. Don't forget to check out the garden and mural. We stayed in the Log Haven room. My wife and I loved the logs room. This room has an incredible bathtub with jets. It's like a little jacuzzi. You can imagine after riding all day how inviting this was. It was very relaxing. The room had all the amenities. My wife is very particular about places and she loved the room and house and Rachel. Our first full day Rachel invited my wife and I to go on a boat trip with her friends. Rachel made the most tasty egg sandwiches. You will have to ask her for the recipe. We met up with her friends and they were great people. We had an outstanding day on the Pine View Reservoir which is a 5 minute walk from The Valley House Inn. The breakfast is a lot of good tasty food. Eggs and potatoes with some vegetables mixed in from the garden. Nice thick bacon slices with sausage. Then she tops it off with awesome waffles with a sprinkle of powder sugar. I love to eat and I eat a lot but even this was a big meal for me. The Log Haven Room has a small dining room that overlooks the from of the house a relaxing view of the neighborhood and nature. My wife and I jumped on bicycles that Rachel provided us and rode around the small town. We stopped to look at some horses in neighbors yards, mailed some postcards off at the Post Office, checked out the American Legion then rode to Pineview Reservoir when we relaxed on a bench. I can't say enough nice things about Rachel and friendly staff at The Valley Inn. Rachel knows and understands her clients needs and really takes charge. With that said my wife and I got to help her in the kitchen. Rachel did not ask but was awesome enough to allow us to help out. I actually picked this place to surprise my wife and I definitely scored some major points. All in all I would say that this was the best experience and most beautiful and relaxing place on our 3 week 4000 miles motorcycle ride through 6 states. You have got to experience this place either if your traveling through, a retreat from a fast paced environment or want to spend time with a significant other. This is definitely a place you should check out. Well worth time and you will not be disappointed. P.S I will be posting more photos when I get more.

Be prepared to have to travel to their lobby (on weekends) in order for questions to be answered or details confirmed; my emails were never answered, only texts intermittently. Management was very unprofessional at times and lacked ability to fully complete tasks (ex: my father had to inquire more than once, retrieve, wipe down, and set up the chairs 3 hours before he had to walk me down the aisle because it was not done by staff in the morning as guaranteed by the General Manager (GM) the day before. Later, there were not enough chairs for dinner- when the GM was presented with the problem, the response was negligent even though it was confirmed weeks prior we'd have more chairs than guests 'just in case'.) The staff and GM also helped themselves to our reception dinner despite there not being an agreed upon clause in the contract to include them in our catering count or consent given day of by the paying party. The guests and wedding party were also filmed without permission- when I asked the GM for that footage to be deleted, my request was met with defense and guilt tripping; which somehow after I left included a (unbeknownst to me) very inappropriate and immature text from the GM to my new husband seeking pity and complaining about me (lol). Our card was charged by the owner without any notice before or after the transaction. We were supposed to discuss my invoices for the cake and floral before the second deposit was due in order for the next payment to be reflected with the deductions in the package, never happened even after multiple attempts. It wasn't until almost a week after our event and some hassle that we got the fees back for the cake and floral. If I'd have known the bridal room was going to be the massage room in between clients and not a guest room in the lodge as spoken about previously, I would have instead gotten ready in my cabin. Although it's listed as a provided accommodation, it took multiple conversations with management morning of to simply get the keys for it. There is also definitely not enough space anywhere on the property to comfortably host a close to 100 person gathering. In all, we had a pleasant time focusing on what mattered most- our people and our wedding day. Had the unnecessary speed bumps (including other unethical staff to guest interactions unmentioned here) not occurred, the day would have definitely been more seamless and less stressful. I'm taking the time to create this review more so as a forewarning to fellow/future brides. The 'team' here is more proficient in the hotel experience category than competently providing a wedding or larger event venue. Approach and proceed with diligence.
