Great snowboarding and great vibes, though not this year due to barely any snow. They did what they could though and when I took my son here a month ago they had some decent runs. I've been here before with more snow and I would consider this a good beginner friendly mountain. The prices are probably the best in the area, and they have FREE passes for kids 12 and under! Fun little ski and snowboard operation in Eden, UT. Has a family run operation feel because of the rustic facilities and nestled among rural valley farming communities. In 2024 the main building they used fir operations burned down in a fire. Now the operation is run out of a portable construction trailer with a few food trucks and porto potties strewn about. The benefit to riding a mountain like this is the low cost. If you purchase tickets in advance online you can find lifts as low as $19 that includes some snacks with an f&b credit. The base elevation is low compared to an LCC resort. Slightly over 6000 ft, at base. So snow doesn't stick around long after spring. I have been here when it's snowing on the top and raining at the base. It's a fun little place to snowboard. The have a new high speed 6 pack chair on the other part of the mountain away from base operations. That is the better section of mountain with more consistent snow. Enjoy! read more

I like Nordic Valley. The mountain is a good size with a good amount of blue and green runs. I prefer the Nordic Express lift side of the mountain. That lift is big and it's not too steep to get off the lift at the top. I don't like the Apollo lift being so steep at the top. It's scary getting off... the other two lifts there are for beginners I think. This mountain is a lower elevation than Snowbasin and Powder Mountain so the snow here isn't quite as good. I do like that kids 12 and under can get a free pass here. And it's a lot cheaper than the other mountains nearby. So really as long as it's not raining this mountain is a better value. One more thing, I know their lodge burned down in a fire a while back, but that's a big thing for me personally. I love having a nice warm lodge to take a break in, since my husband can ride all day, but I get tired riding all day! Hopefully they can build a nice big lodge with fireplaces and a cafe. :) The employees here were friendly and helpful. Rentals are not too expensive and they have deals on them sometimes. Great family oriented ski area. Perfect for beginners. My kids learned to ski here when they were small and barely has the place changed in a decade. Well, until the fire at the barn/kitchen in January 2024. But they rebounded quickly so that the season didn't bust Ski rentals and ski lessons are reasonable and the area is still rural so you feel like a little island in the mountains and valley. One of 3 ski resorts in Ogden area- all small and inviting. Hotels are nearby but it's not a mega tourist destination. read more

To be honest Nordic Valley needs to get their sh*t together because they could have so much more potential. But overall this is a good ski resort for easy skiing and beginners! There is much advanced terrain but most is pretty simple *insert smiley here* Me and the kids go up often and it's a great day for the kiddos, but unfortunately they do not have an indoor lodge which to me... is RIDICULOUS (lol). Great place for beginners to learn, and much more reasonably-priced then other local options. On a powdery Saturday in March, $120 bought a 2-hour lesson, lift ticket, and rental gear, which seemed very fair. The lesson included just my husband and I, plus one other adult. The instructor was very relaxed and gave clear explanations, and we advanced to the lift in under an hour. The parking was full, so we had to park at a local school and ride the shuttle. The gear rental was a bit of a cluster (crowded and out of poles and helmets), but the people fitting ski boots were pros at it, and we were in and out pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend Nordic for beginners- beautiful area, small and manageable resort, and excellent instructors. read more

When we went to ski the snow was icy and muddy. We went up the lift one time and after coming down the slope we realized that we didn't want to ski anymore. When I went to the ticket booth, the worker told me that she could give me credit to come back another time and ski. Then, the manager Lori inserted herself in my conversation with the employee and told me that she would not give me credit. She was extremely rude to me and my brother and talked down to us. She also kept saying that it was in the terms and conditions, yet when we bought our tickets we were given no terms and conditions to read. Someone like that should not be in any position to be talking to customers, as she has zero customer service skills or just basic human decency. Even the employees at the ski rental booth tried to help us out by talking to her but she was rude to them too. Do not waste your time coming here!! Seriously just go to Powder Mountain instead. Wasted $300 today. read more

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I found this place to be an operational disaster that sorely needs some investment in key areas to improve the experience. Skied here on December 18. Yes, lift tickets are super affordable compared to the majority of Utah ski resorts. Yes, if you are a local who wants to get on the slopes for a few hours with your kids, it's probably not a bad idea. And yes, with Power Pass your 12 or younger kid skis free. But there are many operational issues. We were in town with a 16 month old and a 5 year old (first time skier) and were not able to get him into a lesson at Alta due to it being sold out plus we would have needed a daycare reservation which we didn't feel like chasing down (not to mention the $160+ you spend on it in Utah while skiing). The solution to us was simple, go to Nordic Valley where the 5 year old would ski free to do some magic carpet runs and we could take turns watching the 16 month old. My major issues were with the lift situation combined with the state of the base lodge and food. The six pack express lift was open and running, but nobody could get to it as all that was available out of the base area was a rickety double with huge lift lines. Why upgrade one of your satellite lifts when you have a severe choke point at your base lodge? It just makes no sense to me whatsoever operationally. The other issues was the state of the base lodge. Small and overly crowded with a terrible cafeteria. Food was typical resort prices (think $6 little piece of pizza and $12+ sandwiches that don't come with fries) but no where near typical resort quality. The cafeteria was out of multiple staples including french fries on a Sunday. How in God's name can you mismanage your food so badly as a resort in this case, effectively losing money when people have no food that they want to buy. Want a fountain drink? $5 for a small cup without a lid. Clearly they are trying to make up part of their lift ticket discount by fleecing people on food. We ended up each getting a piece of cheese pizza and the slices were COLD and honestly disgusting. A final source of frustration was that we tried to contact the ski school by both email and phone and got no contact back from them (hoping to book a private lesson for our child). Even if you are jam packed, at least take 2 minutes to call people back and let them know that there is no availability. So in a nutshell, if you want to come here for a few hours to ski and don't need to deal with any of their facilities, by all means do it and enjoy the cost savings. If you want anything that compares to a typical better ski day though, save your money. Yes, we only spent about $140 on two lift tickets for the day, but I'd honestly rather have just not bothered at all. We will not be coming back any time soon when in the SLC area for skiing. I'd stick with Powder or Snow Basin for the Ogden area by far. read more

Horrendous customer service. No one will answer the phone or return emails. The staff on site are extremely overwhelmed and rude beyond belief. Parking attendants are aggressive. Their "refund protocol" is stolen from another company in AZ that they are not even affiliated with. We bought passes this year and have used them 0 times. The employees that responded to our emails after we complained just gave excuse after excuse and then.. shocking (haha) ignored us entirely. The lifts are constantly shut down due to "mechanical issues." What a joke. There are two WAY better options nearby. Don't waste your money here. read more

This is a great mountain for first-time skiers. The ski rental process and ski school were well done. The high speed 6 pack is a nice lift. My girls enjoyed their lessons. However, customer service is remarkably poor. I watched as two small children were completely tangled up and screaming on the magic carpet lift while the lift operator stared at his phone. Other lift operators couldn't be bothered either. One actually stayed looking at his phone while he sat and casually held the chair for people getting on the lift. I also witnessed two staff arguing through the food line, one cook swearing at another staff on the other side. With the exception of the ski instructors, not a smile or a care that you are there as a guest. read more

Is this place the same as snowbird, snow basin or Alta? Nope! Is it a great place to learn to ski without going bankrupt? yes!! My daughter had a terrible experience at another Utah resort where the beginner hill was way too steep and was extremely nervous to go again. I told her about the magic carpet and more gentle hill at Nordic Valley. She had a great day and made almost 39 runs on the Crocket lift. I spent much less on my lift ticket here than at other famed Utah resorts. If you are teaching a beginner to ski you really won't spend much time on the top of the mountain anyway. I did take a few runs on their intermediate runs and enjoyed the terrain. This isn't the swankiest ski resort in Utah but it is budget friendly, nice enough and a great place to teach. They do have instructors there but I did not use the ski school. This will be my go to place to take my kids as they learn to ski. read more

Don't waste your time or money until they fix their main lift access (Apollo) to the 6 chair Nordic express lift. They only have 2 Sno-CATs with sleds taking people to the lift from the beginner (Crockett) lift. More than half of the terrain are not accessible without riding the sleds but the lines for them are ridiculous plus delays in running the CATs. They wouldn't even let us exchange the ticket for another day. Worst customer service ever! read more

Nordic is Ana we some place to bring your kids to learn how to ski/snowboard. It's by far your most economic option...half the price of the other resorts...even more if you buy their discount tickets through Liftopia. If you do, skip the long line at the ticket window and go straight up to the will call ticket on the left, and you're golden. Granted, it's small. Only 3 lifts, but still plenty of terrain. If you like expert runs, then this isn't your bag. But there are plenty of beginner and intermediate runs, as well as trees to venture through to find those fun jumps. On weekdays you'll see somebody on every 4th or 5th chair...NO LINES. On weekends you'll hit lines, but even then, no more than 5 minutes. If you DO come on a weekend, and anybody in your group needs rentals, get here EARLY. The rental shop is undermanned and swarming with little tikes needjng rentals for ski school. We had 2 people who needed snowboard boots. They went in the shop and came out a year older. Ok...maybe not. But it WAS 90 minutes. But delays like these are easier to swallow when an adult skis with 2 kids on a weekend for $54. And "kids" include ages up to 18, not just 12. Translation: you can take the family skiing on the weekend AND pay your power and gas bill. :) read more

I had a fun time trying to learn how to ski here. Kristin and Taylin in the rental shop were so nice and helped me try on a few different pairs of boots until I got some that felt right on my extremely wide feet, and Kristin adjusted my skis for me a few times. Overall it was a fun experience with helpful staff and we'll definitely come back again. read more

This review is strictly for the Nordic Valley Cafe. Don't bother visiting the cafe. Their staff is incredibly rude, constantly monitoring your every move. If you're not actively chewing or sipping on your drink they'll quickly ask you to leave. I understand we're in the COVID era, but the entire west wing could be empty and they'll still ask you to leave despite having food in front of you. No where does it say it's only a take-and-go cafe. "Where Utah learns to ski." I believe the above statement sums up Nordic Valley. This resort is the perfect place to learn to ski. It's inexpensive in comparison to the other resorts in Utah. It offers a great bunny hill and if you progress quickly, they still offer some intermediate and advanced runs to help you become a great skier. They even have a mini terrain park so you can experience your first rail or jump as well. You can definitely have a lot of fun at Nordic, but if you're a great skier and you're in Utah to see a lot of diverse terrain, this is not the place for you. Utah has many other larger, better resorts. However, if you're new to the ski scene or you're a large family just hoping to get out and enjoy the mountain without completely breaking the bank, this is the place for you. Oh, and BONUS: they are one of the few resorts that offers night skiing!! read more

I've been skiing my entire life, been to many different resorts and if I could give zero stars to Nordic Valley then I would. Some friends and I were looking into going night skiing at their resort. We called in advance and asked if we could get a discounted group price, which they happily offered to us. They promised and even sent an email to confirm discounted lift tickets. We drove an hour up to the resort only to find that the email was "invalid". The employee told us that she got in trouble for sending the confirmation email and when we politely asked to speak to her manager, she became quite rude. The manager then told us that their prices are different every day and that they could not honor their email. Hard to believe that the cost of their lift tickets are changing every day when they have an engraved wood sign with their prices... I have skied at the resort in the past and the mountain is a joke. Regardless of this, our group was looking forward to trying and making the most of our opportunity to ski together however this was not the case. Poor management and terrible customer service was very frustrating. Certainly will not be coming back. read more

We have been to this resort many times even though we live in Salt Lake City. Wonderful service (they actually care about your experience). amazing wide bunny hill - long enough lift and easy terrain. New 6 persons speed lift, I want to say is the best in Utah! The scenery is breathtaking! Also prices are so affordable! And little eatery serves stuff that my kids eat like pizza and fries. We also had a group ski lesson and group snowboarding lesson for our boys and instructors were the best! We would seriously recommend this resort to everyone! read more

Now bringing my kids up here...Wow, I think a few of the older staff in the lodge need to retire, and the young bucks need a class or two in customer service. I live in the Weber County area and have been to the three resorts in the area several times. I've had season passes at Nordic Valley (formerly Wolf Mountain) and Powder Mountain. Where Nordic Valley lacks in size and short season they make up for it in customer service, family-friendly atmosphere, and a really good ski school. This is the perfect place for a family with young children and beginner-intermediate skiers. Parents can feel confident in sitting in the lodge while their children are out having fun! They offer after school programs and really good school group deals. I've not had one bad experience at Nordic, from ticket sales to ski patrol. I would recommend this resort to friends, especially those with children. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was because of its small size. read more

My kid went with the school to this resort. My kid had to take the lesson. But the young instructor decided not to let me kid into the lift (take in concideration that the instructor had a big group classes). My kid had skied before, my kid had to take the lesson because it was require by the school. The chaperone thought my kid was good but even that wasn't good enough. I called for and explanation and the woman that answer was rude and didn't help in the end we just WASTED TIME AND MONEY. The woman on the phone said that she give me a good price well is a way to bring people to a business isn't?! (this is probably the most frustrating part, she didn't relized that if I come back I would have rent skis again and dinne there if she would been helpful). My recommendation for next time is to go to Powder mountain or Snowbasin they have better customer service and the skiing resort is 100 times better with out a TERRIBLE AND RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more
