Came to this chill resort called Beaver Mountain where all of us went skiing or snowboarding. The park was nice and not too crowded so we enjoyed this place. We were able to rent our skis or snowboards with them. I rented a snowboard and boots for the day. It was simple and quick so you can go into the mountain and enjoy some fun! It was my first time at this mountain and I think the lifts and trails were nice and simple. It's not too crazy and if you don't know how to board or ski you can learn on the bunny slopes. On the day we went, it started to snow and it was so beautiful! Worth a place to come and visit! Great for children and adults of all ages.

Shredin' the gnar.

Beaver Mountain Ski Resorts, Weather & Snow Report

Beaver Mountain has many issues that make it a frustrating place to ski. I've tried to overlook…read morethese as I've skied there from time to time over the years, but in late Dec 2024, I was harassed by a ticket checker in what turned out to be a humiliating experience. That experience has prompted this review. To begin, the lifts are all old and very slow. With only 1600 feet vertical on its biggest run and very little, if any, terrain that is actually above intermediate level, a good intermediate skier can descend from summit to base in about five minutes. The lift ride is a little more than about 10 minutes. So, three hours of "skiing" is actually two hours on the lift and one hour skiing, if you don't have to wait in line. But, if the lift lines are long, as they always are on weekends, the amount of time skiing as opposed to riding the lift and standing is even less, sometimes much less. The lifts are dangerous, especially the Beaver Face lift. There are no safety bars on the face lift or Harry's Dream lift and the safety bars on the Marge's Triple lift are not functional. Only the Little Beaver lift has a useable safety bar. The lifts are still loaded manually, often with distracted or belligerent operators. Tickets are scanned manually and lines are disorganized. Ticket checkers and lift operators are often rude to skiers and display annoyance at having to deal with them. Ticket and rental lines are long. Tickets are stamped manually, and a surcharge is added when purchased online, but still require standing in line to pick up. Parking is inadequate, especially on weekends. They advertise as family friendly, but the vibe I get is not family friendly. The attitude among employees impresses me as one of subdued aggravation at having to deal with customers. The only positive things about Beaver Mountain are the all-volunteer ski patrol and the ski school, although the latter is best suited for beginner and intermediate skiers. If you want a good ski experience close to Cache Valley, try Snowbasin. Snowbasin, a far superior resort, is only an additional 30 to 45 minutes from Logan. Snowbasin is more expensive than Beaver, but if your goal is to spend less money so you can in stand in line and put up with the aggravation of the place, then Beaver Mountain is the place for you.

The Valentine's Day event cost 149.00 per couple. 100 couples were there. Check in was a long line nightmare with tickets. Seating was crowded-elbow to elbow. The food was inedible. from Firehouse. Mac n cheese -gluey texture bland flavor and barely warm. Chicken breast with the barest hint of some red sauce. Tough and chewy. Not even warm. The roll was just pulled out of a refrigerator and very cold. Who serves cold refrigerated dinner rolls? An out of the bag salad with a squeeze bottle of generic ranch. For dessert? A 1.5 inch X 1.5 inch piece chocolate cake. Literally no service with the food. The music afterward was ok. The talent was excellent but the sound mixer was way off. Music too loud and yet unable to hear the musicians sing or even the guitar or cello during the sets. The 3 musician groups seemed put together at the last minute. It was absolutely the worst food I have ever been asked to eat. What should have been a nice evening out was dashed by poor food and poor planning.

This review is not about my snowboarding, per se. If that were the case, I would give it exactly one half of a star. But it's not Cherry peak's fault that I can't find my balance. I spent my entire day on the magic carpet. It was an easy hill with a lovely human conveyor belt that moved me and my awkward self up the hill after stumbling down it over and over again. The staff was friendly and even stopped the moving belt when I found myself with one foot stuck on the board and the other stuck on the ground off the belt. I'm sure they laughed inwardly, but they maintained professionalism in my presence. The lodge is a bit outdated, but that adds to it's charm. We rented skis for my son and the staff was helpful in sizing him and giving him a quick tutorial (lessons were offered, but he just needed a quick refresher). My one big suggestion would be to amp up the staff in the kitchen area. We waited a while for our order and found that most people bombarded the restaurant around lunch time and there were not enough cooks to handle the crowd. With no other options for food, they probably don't lose much business, but likely struggle to keep happy customers. A few extra hands would go far.

This resort is truly top notch. They are unique in that they offer no lodging, so most people who…read moreski/board here are locals. The benefit to that is that it is not so commercialized like many others in the area. People don't come to Snowbasin to shop, they come here to enjoy the slopes! With the exception of the lodge, the store, and a few smaller lodges with restaurants spread throughout the resort, there is nothing else to do but ski. The skiers at Snowbasin have excellent etiquette and there is plenty of space on the slopes even on the busiest days. So if the lift lines are long, know that the slopes won't be congested. I have heard that they are planning to add in a hotel with 300+ rooms in the next 5 years, so the dynamic will shift. Hopefully they continue their focus on the slopes instead of shopping. Only time will tell!

This was what the Director, Krista of the ski school told us. Your kids will be put in groups with other kids at very different levels, green, blue, or black, maybe all in one group. It doesn't matter. They don't assess based on levels even though they act like they do by giving the kids report cards. Your kids may be at a lower level but they will group them with kids on super high level and vice versa. If you have lower level kids, this will be very dangerous, and if you have higher level skiers, then you just spend the money, and they may not learn anything. We have been to different ski resorts in Utah and Denver, and this is the first time that they do not consider the kids levels and provided service based on how much you spent.
