La experiencia tuvo algunos puntos positivos, pero lamentablemente la comida no estuvo a la altura del precio que pagamos: $365.50. Lo bueno: Nuestra mesera fue excelente. Dulce, atenta, rápida y muy amable. También la música estuvo muy agradable y ayudó a crear un ambiente bonito para compartir en familia. Los mojitos de coco estaban ricos aunque me parecieron algo caros a $14 cada uno, considerando que he tomado mejores por $10 en otros lugares muy cercanos. Lo no tan bueno: La comida fue una gran decepción. Las alcapurrias y los tostones estaban demasiado gruesos. El pulpo que pedí no tenía sabor y estaba duro. Nos cobraron unos sorullitos de maíz que nunca nos sirvieron, a pesar de habernos dicho que no quedaban. Tampoco había bacalaítos ni morcillas. La carne frita estaba muy dura y demasiada obscura. Mi esposo lamentablemente tampoco le gustaron las chuletas porque no estaban bien cocinadas. Mi papá pidió un filete de chillo al ajillo y también comentó que no tenía nada de sabor. Un detalle a tener en cuenta: La propina del 18% (en nuestro caso, $52.63) fue incluida automáticamente en la cuenta, ya que éramos seis personas o más. No me sorprendió porque es una costumbre común, pero lo menciono para que otros lo tengan presente al momento de revisar su factura. First time there but will be definitely going back! Excellent food and a nice casual place. Wide menu But I stuck with the classics for my first try. Had Mofongo with the Carne Frita (Fried pork chunks ) Both were really good. The Mofongo was very flavorful and had a great consistency. The Carne Frita was crispy on the outside and really juicy on the inside - again very flavorful. Reminded me of a really nicely done pork belly. They gave me way more than I could eat for dinner so I ended up bringing at least a big lunch portion home. I found the prices to be very reasonable and the people they are very friendly. Definitely can recommend it if you're in the mood for some very good and authentic Puerto Rican food. read more

This is my third time at this restaurant. I kept driving by it and one day decided to stop by with my wife. There weren't a lot of people there during the day, but don't let that stop you. We both loved the food and the service. We haven't received anything but good food and good service. Today I came back for lunch with my wife and the Server Silvia was great. Great service with a smile. Lastly, my wife came back with her work friends and everyone loved the food. I walked in today at 4pm for a quick lunch. The server was friendly. I ordered a chicken soup with a lemonade. Food was tasty and the price wasn't bad. Before I left the restaurant I went to the restroom to wash my hands. As I walk in the bathroom I noticed there was someone in there taking a Shit. I flushed the toilet and washed my hands. The only other person in the restroom was an employee and when she flushed the toilet she ran out the stall and put on her apron. I was shocked because she didn't stop at the sink to wash her hands. Nor did she use the sink in the wheelchair accessible bathroom she was in. I told her on the way out that what she did was unsanitary. You work in a food business you are required by LAW to wash your hands. I called her out on this in front of patrons to put her on the spot. She then LIES and says she washed them in the stall she was in but that's a LIE because I was there and the sink didn't come on. She was on the toilet, flushed and then ran out! At no point did the sink come on so that was a lie. I feel disgusted I even ate here with staff that think taking shits and running out of bathrooms is ok! She's lucky I wasn't a health inspector or working for the state dept. After this I might notify the proper authorities and send someone to investigate this further. There is absolutely NO excuse for a grown adult to not wash their hands!! Especially in a food industry! They teach you this a child! Wtf. You would think after covid people would take health requirements more seriously in any industry but again this all has to do with proper home and work training. This woman is clearly a dirty individual with no regard for others or self respect. I will NOT be returning here ever again. Good luck to those that eat here. read more

The service was awesome. There was a greeter, and the place was so clean and decorated nicely. Our server, Angel, was attentive, recommended us the best plates. We ended up getting the chuleta kan kan, fried red snapper, fried beef steak, and mofongo with churrasco. All were delicious and the portions plenty. Dessert was a chocolate volcano cake. Being one that always likes to explore new restaurants, we tried this one. First impressions, nicely decorated in a Puertorrican theme. I'm going to assume, which we should never do, that the waitress that took care of us was having a bad day. If not, then she should be restrained. I ordered the mofongo and it was a disappointment. First, if you are a "true PRican", you know that we do not boil the platanos, they are fried them mashed. This was more of a mangu type which is a different cuisine. It also had no flavor. I also ordered the pastelillo de camarones which was very good, would order this again. I would give this restaurant another chance and order something different since it's in my neighborhood. Came for lunch with the family and I must say I am glad I gave it a try. As a Puerto Rican it is difficult to find a good mofongo and this was as good as you would find in the island. The seafood mix was nothing special, but very tasty. The service was better than expected, even when we were a table of 9 people, the food came out at the same time, and our server did very good job. Prices are high, but I had enough food to enjoy, and take home. I will be eating here again. read more

Not impressed. Place was empty inside on a Saturday night which is a red flag but it was a new Puerto Rican place close to home so whatever. Took awhile to put in our drink order, but once that happened service was better. Had a little bit of a language barrier with the waitress since we only speak English(MERICA). Food was less then ok and expensive. Carnitas and chuleta kan kan didn't have a lot of flavor and was over cooked, I would not order again. They charge a 15% service fee which is ridiculous, service pay is based on level of service. Also, when we were at the table waiting for somebody to greet us, there had to be 7 staff members just standing around staring off or chit chatting. I don't recommend this restaurant. read more

Very very disappointed. Very slow service, servers did not speak english well and it was difficult to place oder, especially for our take guest who are not spanish . Even though they have a full service bar, we tried to order mixed drinks and there was no bartender or anyone to make our requested drinks. The food was ok, mofongo was a disappointment as it was boiled not fried. Upon checkout, we we're automatically charged 15% gratuity and our server informed us that the restaurant would get 5% of the gratuity and he would only gets10%. I have never heard of such a thing. This was my first time at this restaurant, I saw it on yelp and wanted to try it. First off let me say it was only a party of 2 and our bill was 70$ including tip. Meanwhile, this is at 12:30 in the afternoon. Not once did he tell us they have a lunch menu we saw a guy walking out with the sign and was like what the heck. I felt like that was unprofessional. Not only that the food that I order was not too bad besides, the rice being hard. The yellow rice and gondolas tasted burnt , and the garlic chicken. My fiancé had taste like shrimp. This is our second time there. The mofongo is very good. I recommend that with chicken broth although we did have to ask for another cup of broth bc they don't give you enough... at least not enough for us. We opted for the pork chunks, rice, beans, and "salad". All good except the "salad" was some shredded cabbage and half of a small slice of tomato. That was very disappointing. It was even served on the same plate as the main course. The last time we were there we had a male server who, while not overly friendly was attentive and did a pretty good job for us. This time, unfortunately, we did not fare as well. The female server we had today came almost to the point of being rude as she talked to us and how she handed things to us; they were thrown on the table, actually, not even handed to us. If we did not like the food and based our return just on her actions we would not return. However, next time we will be sure to not have her serve us because the food is good enough that we do want to return. I do recommend the food it really is very good however they need to improve their service. Most of this time this chick was talking to the other workers with her back to us and never once came back to see if we needed anything. I actually had to call her to get her to attend to us. By the way, they do automatically add on a 15% tip and maybe this is why she could care less whether we were served well or not. I do hope that's not the case. The restaurant is open all 7 days but in the afternoon the way the Sun hits the door it looks like it is not open. They need to put something out there that shows that they are open maybe one of the employee cars or two in front of it so it signals that someone is there. A car left right before we got there because they thought it was closed I'm sure. Then another one came in and kind of watched to see what we would do because we did get down and go to the door and open it. Once they saw that they also parked and came in. First time here and we loved it. Just a drive down to Oviedo. The restaurant is in a shopping plaza which is very visible from the street. The menu is a simple one double side page. Since they just opened around a month ago or so, I'm pretty sure the menu will be printed in a better way as they go but I didn't mind it at all. Their prices are affordable and there's plenty of choices to choose from. The restaurant have plenty of tables and a small karaoke corner if you dare to sing. Our group did since it was a bday dinner. Lol. This is a puertorrican restaurant so the decor is based on pictures from different artist and sport legends. There's also the PR flag on a wall and some sombreros as well. So as soon as you walk in you know are going to eat some chuletas, pollo, carne frita, mofongo and more. They is also a small bar with some beer selection, wines, sodas and the basics. Our server was very nice and took very good care of our table. You can tell he was happy to be there and enjoy his time. The kitchen closes at 8pm on sundays but the bar stays open. They also have tv,s at the bar and a projector to see the sports which is something most people like. The food presentation was very nice and the food delicious. No complaints at all.
