Patient and extremely knowledgeable, researching whatever necessary to get me to the right resources to resolve my issue... and that was just on intake. Those she relied for answers seemed to respond quickly, moving the process right on along. And they won't waste your time. If they can't help they let you know and offer other resources that can. I requested help with lanlord who wouldnt accept my rent yet was try8ing to eveict for non payment Mr L is so top notch and first off wanting to make things right without having to go to court , collecccted all info from me needed incase we were to go to court and followed up with me . Community Legal Services proudly brags about itself among the local bar association about what a great group of dedicated, ambitious lawyers they are to the poor, indigent, oppressed and those who are situated between a legal rock and a legal hard place. After being illegally locked out of my home by a crooked mobile home park, who employed a crooked eviction attorney who supposedly filed a lawsuit I was never served with, in a crooked court that never sends notices of court dates, decisions or appeal deadlines, employs crooked judges who aren't required to possess law degrees, and permits licensed process servers to commit perjury, I presented Community Legal Services with a 7-page indictment of 34 violations of the Arizona Landlord Tenant Act that were committed, including interfering with realtors, refusing to cooperate with rent and utility assistance agencies, illegally turning off water and exploitation of a senior citizen's resources. Community Legal Services had the gall to defend these Mafiosos by saying, "Sure, it's unfair, but there's nothing we can do. The laws allow them to do this." Further discussion reveals this blowhard organization does little but effect basic, simple phone negotiations with abused tenants' adversaries. They do not file briefs, draft complaints, motions, pleadings or - heaven forbid - appear in court on behalf of their clients. In other words, they do nothing that involves putting a serious dent in their own billable hours. And just to make doubly sure there's no misunderstanding on my part, despite all their feigned great help (sic) they perform on the part of the poor, the abused, the oppressed and the neglected, lobbying for legislative changes to unfair laws that hurt these folks the most, is a line in the sand Community Legal Services just won't cross. That takes real lawyers, with real guts and real experience and real dedication to end human suffering. You won't find any of that in this lot. read more

Wow! My attorney knew her stuff and was a hard core lawyer! My case was given to heed because I asked for legal representation, and I thought since it was free I might get a lawyer who isn't Verrazano knowledgeable, but man was I wrong! My lawyer Nina was soooo good and sooo nice!!! She made it seem like a breeze having to talk to a judge(even though it scared the begeebers out of me) and...she won my case for me! So if I could give NIna more then 5 stars I would! Thank you!!!! read more

I used community legal services (2009/2010/2011) when a bank was foreclosing on my home but wasn't my lender and had no legal right. Community legal service and attorney provided was great. She worked very hard for me. Unfortunately, our justice system isn't fair and big banks with bottomless pockets will always win. While the attorney did her absolute best the outcome was not what we wanted and the big bank foreclosed on a hour they didn't own or had a loan with. It's sad to learn the truth of our legal system but it's nice to have an organization such as community legal services to help out for those in need who can not afford legal services. Several years ago I was represented by a male attorney for my unemployment appeal who was wonderful. I should have written a review for him at that time (since he deserved a rating of 5 stars.) He handled my denial of unemployment related to the case NINA was assigned to, My experience with him was overshadowed by a CREEP attorney named NINA who gets a negative rating if possible. She is nasty, rude and unprofessional. NINA PICKS AND CHOOSES CLIENTS SHE TREATS HER CERTAIN RUDE DISRESPECTFUL WAY. I made a complaint about NINA which went nowhere because this agency does NOTHING when complaints are made. COMMUNITY LEGAL SERVICES ESPECIALLY NINA AND ADMINISTRATION BELIEVE THEY CAN TREAT THOSE IN FINANCIAL NEED ANY DISRESPECTFUL RUDE WAY THEY PLEASE. COMMUNITY LAW IGNORES CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS OF RUDE DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIORS TELLING YOU "NOONE ELSE HAS EVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH WHOMEVER THE COMPLAINT WAS ABOUT AND THEN TELL YOU TO GO ELSEWHERE. My husband and I are in the same profession with same licenses. The case NINA and a student attorney were representing us for included our need for representation at our licensing board from our former employer (who reported us both to the AZ licensing board.) We were both reported because the employer and owner of a small business where we were hired as Director and Assistant DIrector demanded that we remove medical business files prior to the AZ State Agency licensing visit by a State auditor. The owner wanted the files removed because she was not following mandatory State policies/procedures. The employer was not complying with State regulations of which we informed her -but she was pressuring me and my husband to remove files so she would not be fined ( removing files would also get her and us in trouble with the State since no-one is allowed to hide /remove info from the State). The employer told us we would lose our jobs if we didn't do as she told us to do. We both refused to participate with her medicare fraud. I had emailed proof of our informing the employer per email that we refused to remove any files. The employer/business owner then reported both our licenses to the State and fired us. Once our type of licenses are under investigation, it is impossible to get a job especially because we had no other skills-we were considered either overqualified or underqualified. We applied to grocery stores and Burger King all who said we were overqualified. My husband is also a veteran and is disabled with a 25% disability rating from the State. making it more difficult for him to get a job. Neither of us could work. Eventually, our family had foreclosure notices on our front door, our electric and water was shut off and we had to go to the county for free groceries. Nina and her male student were questioning us as if we had done something wrong and then NINA herself had the nerve to say: "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PISS PEOPLE OFF" This sounded as if NINA was giving us a warning of some kind. What a thing to say to someone who had foreclosure notices, electric and water shut off and we had to go to the county for free groceries. NINA was rude on all visits but saying this was the final nastiness we could take. Even though we were desperate to save our licenses, My husband and I agreed that we would not allow NINA's BULLYING ESPECILLY WHEN WE ABOUT TO BE FORECLOSED UPON This is what an attorney who is supposed to be helping us says when we were unable to get jobs, seeking public assistance & almost lost our home. I found a state program to help save our home and Thankfully I found another attorney outside Community legal ( AZ Bar referred us) to help us at the State Board. FYI: The AZ Board realized with the evidence we and my new attorney presented and dismissed the case against my license in full with no action taken. I complained about NINA AND WAS ALMOST IGNORED & NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT HER FOUL REPULSIVE BEHAVIOR. IF YOU ARE ASSIGNED TO THE REVOLTING NINA RUN AWAY BECAUSE IF SHE TAKES A DISLIKE TO YOU-SHE WILL TREAT YOU ANYWAY SHE FEELS BECAUSE COMMUNITY LAW ALLOWS HER TO DO SO. NINA HAS BEEN AT THIS AGENCY AND HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO DO THIS FOR YEARS. read more

I was there to get help with Family Court. The paralegal that was helping me, Ms.Porter, was rude, impatient, and just absolutely passive aggressive. I wrote a letter which stated the dates, times, and situations in which I was interrupted and yelled at by Ms.Porter. Patricia Madison returned my call. She immediately says to me we have never had a problem with her, I don't know what to do about it, and here are some referrals. In addition, she went to say that she shared my complaint with Ms.Porter and she was surprised. Of course, what employee that treats the public like this is going to admit that? Lastly, she gave me the famous "I wasn't there I don't know what happened reasoning". This is so unethical in this field. She is basically not going to do any thing about it and I need to go some where else. She didn't take my complaint seriously. It is very hurtful to go to a non profit that is suppose to help you and be treated like this. I told her exactly that. She says "Well I am a problem solver" My problem was that I was treated unfairly, but yet she was giving me referrals to some where else. Therefore, to her my problem was I needed referrals. She failed to understand that the problem was being treated fairly. I had to explain to her there are two aspects here the human one and the professional one. They are equally important. It's like I was dealing with someone who had no sense of being humane. I hope they don't continue to get funding and close. Non profit organizations are NOT supposed to treat people like this. GO SOME WHERE ELSE. JUST BECAUSE YOU NEED HELP AND ARE LOW INCOME DOESN'T MAKE IT OKAY TO TOLERATE THIS BEHAVIOR! So much for social justice. read more

Comunity legal is a complete joke! They don't do anything! They kept asking me to sign all these papers, then sent me letters to sign more papers. Then I got sued and my landlord told me to go to court so I called CLS again. I had to start the whole thing over. Then CLS called and wanted me to bring them my bank records and all the leases I had signed. Then a different lawyer called and wanted to know if I had a lease!!!! I went to court by myself and lost and had to move out. I talked to this one woman lawyer that was positively stupid. That was almost four months ago and I have still not heard anyting from them. I called to see whats up but nobody tells me anything. read more
