I've only needed a lawyer once before, for criminal defense, so when I needed a lawyer in another emergency situation, I pulled the business card out of my wallet and called again. I was connected to Mr. Hamby, on a holiday, to explain my situation and what I was looking for. Ultimately, it turns out that the kind of lawyer I needed was not within his firm's area of expertise. What impressed me though was that he was able to politely take charge of the conversation, ask me simple and straightforward questions, and get to the conclusion in a short amount of time. It might seem silly to leave a positive review for a consultation that ended with "I'm not the lawyer you need," but that's just the reality of the situation. A less talented person might have had me going in circles, explaining things over and over again, misunderstanding what I was asking for and so on. I really appreciated his professionalism and skill, and in the future, if I do need a criminal defense lawyer, I think I would be very happy with Mr. Hamby's services. read more

Hired them 2 years ago. They charged me over 20,000 gave no legal advice, no protection no motions were filled on our defense we were left on our own. Fired them after they kept lying. The prosecutor even tried to charge them with malpractice for being unethical. That was the only time that they claimed anything legal wise. They swap lawyers in the case with out telling us why. We showed up to appointments and our lawyer claimed they they were not expecting us to see the judge with them. In shirt they asked us to go to court with out a lawyer. We fired them hired someone they closed our clase in under 2 months free and clear. 2 years latter dm cantor is asking us to pay them even more money. They made no attempts to contact us during them time. Thye only sent a letter in the mail 2 years after someone cleaned up there mess and asked for more money and treated to sue us if we did not pay them. So if you want to trow your money away and be left in court by your self as dm cantor bills you and dose not give any legal advice go ahead and hire them. This review concerns the Law Firm DM Cantor not Mr. David Cantor. I met with a person who stated they were a former prosecutor. The sales pitch given to me was promising...meaning it was full of promises. So I signed on with DM Cantor. They quickly took my 15 thousand dollars. The sales person (aka 'former prosecutor') left and was never seen again. My assigned 'DM Cantor attorney' contacted me. From that point on...my phone calls, my texts and my emails were ignored by the attorney. The attorney was always 'in a meeting' or 'away from the office'. Responses to my pleas for information came from an assistant. An assistant who felt no need for accurate information. We named her Queen of Condescension. Wonder why more negatives are not given this firm? When you 'sign on' you sign a document stating that you will never give them a negative rating on any internet board. If you hire this firm you are wasting your money! A basic DUI is going to net you the same results with a public defender for only $150.00. The manager puts on a great song and dance and will bullshit you into believing they will get you some results. True the results are the LAW! Paying them is a waste of your money. I admit I made a bad judgment error and got a DUI, was completely freaked out, and didn't know what to do. After looking on the web, I read that perhaps these guys were the best at handling DUIs. Didn't have any other connections so decided to give it a try. Made my appointment, paid my money, and hoped for the best. As noted by others, you have to go through many layers of receptionists and paralegals to try and get anything done or any questions answered. The receptionists and paralegals are downright rude. The attorney was ok. But it turns out I really could probably have done it myself, it would certainly have been done and over a lot faster, it would most likely have ended up with a similar outcome, and of course I would have saved a lot of money - not $5000 as initially quoted, but in the end over $7000. Could definitely have used that for other things. Guess I learned my lesson. They took the money and ran laughing all the way to the bank. This law firm is not worth your money. The team makes promises just to convince you to give up your money. You are lucky if you see or hear from David Cantor. Generally you will always get an appointed attorney that works in the same office but has no skills with a defense. They ended up charging me more than $10,000 for a case that led to no win and the worse outcome. I strongly suggest you go somewhere else where they might care and the lawyers will actually make a defense. You are better off going to low price layer with the same outcome. I Google searched though quite few firms then picked 3 to interview. DM was the second I interviewed and the one I hired. This was a very serious charge I was facing. I was in " Pre-Charge " phrase but If arrested it carried a non-Bailable term. Meaning if the PD felt they had enough to charge I would be Incarcerated until trial, no ands if or butts, then if convicted it carried an 8 yr minimum without the possibility of early out for ANY reason. So you see the seriousness of this, right? DM's Pre-Charge fee was 800% higher than the closest next quote I got. And about even with the "if it goes to trial " quote. I chose DM because he was the only Attorney actually interested in KEEPING me from being arrested. Others just wanted a small fee and then for me to let them know when Police attempted or did arrest me!! Sorry Charlie, but by then in mind that would be too late. I hired DM and they got right on doing what they do (better to let them explain that to you in person ). David himself and Joey H worked on my behalf. They are very aggressive, knowledgable , and creative. When it was all said and done, I have paperwork in hand from the actual PD stating that the investigation was closed. I have all paperwork that the PD had, that David Michael required from them. I don't have to look over my shoulder, and anyone who has ever been put in that situation knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about. If you want the best, HIRE the best!
