When I was arrest for domestic violence and disturbing the peace I knew my only hope was to hire an attorney. I Google searched though quite few firms then picked 3 to interview. DM was the second I interviewed and the one I hired. This was a very serious charge I was facing. I was in " Pre-Charge " phrase but If arrested it carried a non-Bailable term. Meaning if the PD felt they had enough to charge I would be Incarcerated until trial, no ands if or butts, then if convicted it carried an 8 yr minimum without the possibility of early out for ANY reason. So you see the seriousness of this, right? DM's Pre-Charge fee was 800% higher than the closest next quote I got. And about even with the "if it goes to trial " quote. I chose DM because he was the only Attorney actually interested in KEEPING me from being arrested. Others just wanted a small fee and then for me to let them know when Police attempted or did arrest me!! Sorry Charlie, but by then in mind that would be too late. I hired DM and they got right on doing what they do (better to let them explain that to you in person ). David himself and Joey H worked on my behalf. They are very aggressive, knowledgable , and creative. When it was all said and done, I have paperwork in hand from the actual PD stating that the investigation was closed. I have all paperwork that the PD had, that David Michael required from them. I had a post-conviction request that not all law firms in Maricopa County handled, but DM Cantor did. My situation was made a bit more unusual because I was from out of state. However, the DM Cantor attorney I consulted with assured me that it could get done and I had a good chance of succeeding. I was assigned Michael Alarid as my attorney through the process. Michael was helpful in describing what I needed to get done in order to be successful with my request. He was also mostly accurate in describing the process of what he thought would happen throughout the process including the reaction of the opposition. I was impressed with his written communications to the Court in citing precedents and laying out my request in an organized and efficient manner. Even though we did not get a chance to meet face-to-face, Michael and his assistant were mostly prompt with their communications via email or phone. On my Court date, Michael was unavailable, so my attorney that day was Joey Hamby. The handoff to Joey was smooth; he got up to speed on my case quickly. We met in the DM Cantor office prior to the Court appearance, so I felt prepared for my big day.
