I was on hold 15 minutes to schedule a new appointment. I finally hung up. The music on hold was awful.

They were helpful in setting up a referral to an eye surgery place to zap out my cataracts, then even more helpful when that place didn't contact me whatsoever but scheduled me for an appointment and told the eye doctor's office they had called, spoken to me and left a voicemail (They did both things? Really? Interesting, considering I received no voicemail and never spoke to them on the phone once. That review will be forthcoming and will very likely have a far different tone and tenor than this one). They went above and beyond to help me pick up the mess that the eye surgeon's office left me in less than a week before the surgery, so I was extremely appreciative of that. A little pricey, even for Fishers. Hard to get a prompt appointment. I called up and told them my vision was blurry and I had headaches by the end of the day every single day. See you in two weeks. Very good selection of eyeglass frames. They stay open late on Wednesdays. Good for us working stiffs as a way to pick up glasses and not take time off. In all, much better than the place in the mall.

I would just wear my glasses As faith would happen I got a questionnaire requesting data on the Shadeland office. I filled it out fairly and figured no further action A couple of days later, I got a phone call from the kindness staff member. She assured me that if I came back in things would be different. The whole office was changed and they had a new Dr that people really liked I agreed to come back in and met the most kind and efficient staff and the eye Dr, Dr Till, who was the most patient and understanding Dr you could ask for, He worked with me for at least an hour and made sure I was pleased before we ended the appointment My eye Doctor is on my insurance and I did not initially feel comfortable going to this kind sort of practice however, the whole staff on Shadeland is caring and go beyond to made sure yòu are satisfied Will I go back again, you betcha! The next step today has finally arrived, surgery to remove the cataract from my friend's left eye…read more It's now 1:00 p.m. The building is located downtown at 1901 N. Meridian Street with parking as you enter or in the lot behind the building with signs directing you to the Eye Specialist parking lot. There are three entrances to the building, with one facing the front next to Meridian Street, the back entrance close to the parking lot, and one reserved only for unloading the transportation vans on the side of the building. If your support/family drives, I suggest parking in the back parking lot because it is free and convenient, and the back entrance usually has a person standing by the back door to provide guidance. They were super nice!! Just pull directly off Meridian Street entrance and go straight back to the parking lot. I personally felt the waiting area was extremely narrow and congested with approximately 10 chairs lining the walls. I guess you don't need to stay after your loved one is taken to surgery since it takes at least 2 hours plus to complete the process before you're allowed to see them. We were told the procedure would take an hour or an hour and a half, but it was much longer at 3 hours. Many people in the waiting area were complaining about the length of time the surgeries were taking. Everyone was getting tired of the long day, being hungry, and then many were concerned with missing work and their employers' reactions. Since the patients aren't allowed to eat anything until the surgery is complete, it makes for many famished patients. However, it is more of a nice bonus for those waiting on the patients. The cafe had several types of cold beverages, hot coffee with flavored coffeemate, hot chocolate chip cookies, and bags of different types of chips. It helped knock the edge off until the patient was released. Bring a jacket with you if you're cold natured. The air is on, and it's notably chilly like all surgery centers. I was fine but my friend and several others were cold. Every surgery center deals with the chilly issue. Darn, those germs!! The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive with the patients. The ladies at the two desks in the waiting area were taking many additional questions while trying to perform their daily jobs. I rate the transportation services 10 out of 10. Patients who have scheduled evaluation services and cataract surgery can use their transportation services. There is no need to ask a family member or friend to miss work all day. You can be picked up at home, hotel, or work, and brought to the Keystone office for elevation, then picked up again, taken for surgery downtown, and then driven home afterward. You do not need to call each time you need tranported as the office staff calls immediately after your appointment. However, you need to make the initial call. This must be scheduled prior to your appointment. Well planned work schedules help the drivers seem to run seamlessly with spotless interiors and exterior of their well-marked company vans, their extremely organized, safe drivers, and attentive to each patient. Each patient can transport one friend or family member with them in the van. The 2 transportation drivers I met today were delightful. Polite, professional, sympathetic, and so personable. Each one was totally phenomenal. Where do they find these employees? Again, 10 out of 10. They handle their examinations scheduling with their various offices throughout the Indy area differently than my othomotogologist office and surgery center, but it seems to work for them. Rock on!

I am so baffled by the negative reviews, this is not where we went. In 2017 my husband had cataract surgery on both eyes with vision correction as an add-on. It was an extremely gentle, caring, relaxed, professional atmosphere throughout the process. The decor is beautiful with works of art and flowers everywhere. As the person who would transport him while he wasn't allowed to drive, I was treated "royally", the lounges are lovely, pleasant, comfortable, accommodating for setting for a few hours. He has never had one problem from beginning to present. They work quickly and efficiently and do move a great number of patients through quickly but you never feel rushed nor like you're just a number. I was thrilled to go here a few months ago for my cataract surgeries and vision correction. Ditto to everything I said above. The service is very efficient and quick, there is no waiting around to move through the process of exams to surgery. I felt I got good counsel and advice about which vision correction to choose as an add-on. When I got to the surgery reception area desk, maybe the most anxious point in the visit, I was met by the most vibrant, enthusiastic, caring person I have ever encountered in medical care. It was such a relaxing welcome to the anxiety of you-are-going-to-have-eye-surgery-in-a-few-minutes. Surgery prep was considerate, gentle, efficient and thorough. The only sour note is that some people insert an iv needle better than others everywhere you go--I'm a good judge of an expert, professional phlebotomist.

Dr. Wentz informed me, Dr. Giuliari has over 20 years of experience and is highly regarded in his profession. Associated Vetreoretinal Uveitis Consultants have several physicians in this group located at 10585 N. Meridian Street in Carmel, off 31 and 106th Street ramp. It is extremely easy to find the office building. An Avon location opened 4/15/24 on US Highway 36, Rockville Road, if you prefer the west side. The office building has a free, large surface parking lot with many handicap parking spaces. The check-in office staff were friendly and appeared to have a routine in place that moved patients in a timely manner. The internal offices you visit after being called back have a specific function with a large waiting room located in the center of the offices. Eye exams, various eye equipment are in each room, and the doctors exam rooms move quickly with little wait time. Each staff member I worked with for each procedure was terrific to work with during all my visits. Dr. Guirliari was easy to talk with, friendly, knowledgeable, well-spoken, and thorough. He asked several times if he had answered all my questions or concerns. The staff also provided many pamphlets and papers explaining each step before and after surgery, instructions I had to follow, and explaining details of various diagnoses found. After several tests and measurements, Dr. Guiliari confirmed Dr. Wentz's diagnosis of a macular hole in my left eye that requires surgery. Basically, a gas bubble had to be inserted into my left eye. Surgery was scheduled just a mile from Dr. Guiliari's office at IU Spring Mill Surgery Center, which is known as a state-of-the-art ophthalmology surgery center on the second floor. They have a free, large surface parking lot with many handicap parking spaces. All the staff was phenomenal but more about the surgery center in their review. Dr. Guiliari was again thorough and reassuring, plus I felt very safe and comfortable in his care. My anesthesiologists, I think his name was Dr. Temple, and he was amazing!! He kept me as calm as possible and informed me of each step he and the staff were performing while prepping me for surgery. If you need a retinal specialist, I can highly recommend Dr. Guiliari, along with IU Health Spring Mill Surgery Center.

At first sight, and with his cool composure, he listened attentively to what I had experienced. He took his time to re-explain my problem with textbook images and what may likely happen during my treatment. He was well composed, very articulate, and reassuring. It appeared that he has done similar interventions before and had long years of experience. I felt very comfortable though remained worried at the mention of getting a few injections in my left eye that had the problem during the treatment. I remember taking injections on my buttocks many years ago and the thought of having similar injection, with the long, pointed, and sharp needles in my eye gave me goose bumps, sleepless nights, and fearful imaginations in the days leading to the first injection. The clinic is very clean, well-organized, and a trained staff that knows exactly what to do at every turn. After the preliminaries on the first visit, I returned a week later for the first injection. My blood pressure was taken, restated my date of birth, and read the chart with each of the eyes. The second stop, in another room, was to have images of my eyes taken, and the third was the biggest encounter with the doctor, the injection. Fearful that I won't be able to drive back home, my 24-year-old son, a Purdue University graduate, drove me to the clinic. In order not to let him notice how panicky I was, as his dad, his hero, I asked him to go back home and would call him when everything was done. In a few minutes after the images were taken, I was led in another room where I was to meet Dr. Giuliari. Another Assistant did the preliminaries with liquid drops on my eye. Now came the drama. Dr. Giuliari went through the images, explained what will happen during the treatment, and the goal. He came over to the right side of the chair, explained every step that he took: this medication is for this, look up straight and follow my fingers, this is to keep your eye open, etc. I did as he instructed. I remembered from my High School biology days that the heart beats 70 times a minute. I realized that mine was more than ten times that rate with shallow breaths, and probably the Doctor realized it too. I grabbed the arms of the chair very tight and had they not been securely screwed; they would have come out. And then he said this one will put a little pressure on your eye, a pressure that I did not feel in anticipation of the needle. After that, he tapped me gently on the right shoulder, saying, "you are done". What! Where is the injection? I took a very deep breath, trying to control the palpitations. Is the nightmare over, for real! He was professional, friendly, caring, as he looked to our next appointment. I left the hospital feeling good but a bit ashamed that I had imagined things different. Arriving back home, everyone expected to a gauze or a bandage over my left eye. They were afraid for me. How then would I explain that it was like 'liking a cone of ice cream' but still had to pretend to be brave like coming from a battlefield unscathed. Subsequent injections were like a walk in the park, relaxed, while my eye continued to heal. Dr. Giuliari is one of the best in his field, highly experienced, well-educated, and does his work with passion.
