During my time banking with them, I found this to be true. But only of the workers inside the bank. I'm not sure what it is like to do personal banking with Flagstar, but if you use them as a business, they do not help you solve problems. They become the problem. My entire time with them, they were an adversary that harmed my business and drug me through months of delays, restrictions, "investigations", and account closures. -Their apps are slow, unsightly, and cumbersome to use -Their upper management is very slow to respond -Their back office is just as dark and destructive as any big national bank. -Their back office is lacking in reasoning and analysis skills Worst of all: This has been a bank hit bad by fraud and they react with the trauma of a wounded sparrow. Their "fraud management" team is a terrified, irrational panel of hammers desperately trying to make a nail of anything it finds, and with or without evidence they are eager to make a fraudster out of YOU- the customer. I trusted them with my banking in June and they held, froze, investigated, and delayed my money until my accounts were closed in September. There was never any fraud, never any complaints, and never any accusations. Nevertheless, they held my money hostage the entire time under the enduring assumption that I was a criminal. Meanwhile, they made it impossible for me to cover operating expenses. Perhaps if you are an individual who needs a place to deposit their paycheck and withdraw $20 from the ATM every so often, this may be a great place. The tellers were fantastic and welcoming and they remember who you are. I also loved the two bank managers I got to know during my time with them. Both of the managers were smart, capable, and able to understand by company and banking situation with minimal effort. Unfortunately, they are at the mercy of people above them in the company and below them in intellect and compassion. If you are a business, I would seriously think twice about trusting this bank. They are not a "small, local bank that will look you in the eye and work alongside with you to thrive". They are a hostile, destructive semi-national finance institution reeling in desperation and fear that you are lying in wait to defraud them.

Funny how my…read more$4.50 check and my 3000.00 check were sent out at same post office at the same second and my $4.50 payment was eeceived 7 days earlier and my $3000 payment wss received one day after the due date 2 months in a row. The customer rep. told me they only only a one time per year refund of the late charge and interest they billed me for. They blamed the post office who remarkably delivered one payment in 4 days yet the other took 11 days, and amazingly 1 day after it was due. I tried to call customer service (from middle east) and could not get anywhere with an explanation. So I called a local PNC Bank who tried to get a refund to me but corporate wouldnt allow it. Lol. Are they overseas too?I I am so glad that after 35 years of banking with PNC , they can make a 100 dollar late and interest fee more important than keeping my 4 credit cards and checking and saving accounts!!! I tried to do an account transfer from my other bank to Genisys, What a nightmare getting them to help me with this. When I let Tiffany know they wouldn't do a bank to bank transfer, she helped me figure things out. I must have called her 5 times over a 2 month period. She never made me feel like I was the problem or I was an interruption. Tiffany was so great and patient. One employee working, another walked by, while 2 employees in the lobby were having a personal conversation. (I know this because I could hear them). They waited until a 5 person line out the door formed to even acknowledge the lobby full of customers. I came to switch my checking and savings to them. The employee asked me to have a seat, said she had an appointment but the other man could help me shortly. (after she had already helped the people behind me in line). after joining them in the waiting area They told the employee I can go first because I was next in line. She then said she could actually help them, because the other guy might be awhile... I barely felt treated like a human, let alone a customer. I had no problem letting them know as I walked out the door that I wouldn't be back. This was confirmed when another customer walked out after me and said she banks at two places and highly recommends the other over chase.
