They told me i would receive my money back in 6 - 8 week. It's been 13 weeks. I've called and…read morecalled. Spoke with workers and they tell me we don't know what happened. I called this California they gave and nobody picks up that number. The service is terrible. Nobody knows nothing. I just want my money back. I've tried to be patient but i need answers. I've called BBB to my a complaint. I've call 311. This is not fair that they just keep my money and give me no answers.. Don't GO TO THEM.

Stay away from here! In particular steer clear of Elys Valdez. He comes off warm and friendly, but…read moreit's all an act. He is a phony. A fake. He does a lot of smiling and greeting to get your guard down since you are already in a vulnerable position when posting bail. He's extremely irresponsible and comes up with the most ridiculous lies and stories. Here's my experience with him and the owner Eduardo, another phony. On December 26th 2017 I paid Elys Valdez, an agent of BailNYC, a company insured by Roche Surety and Casualty, $3,000 cash in collateral for a bail. The next day in a phone conversation he informs me that the judge wanted more collateral and that it would require another $2,000 to complete the bail. So, two days later, on December 28th 2017 I paid him that additional $2,000. This brought the total collateral to $5,000. Upon going to court on January 8th, 2018 the person's charge was raised, his bail was increased, and he was re-arrested and the $5,000 was exonerated. I was not aware of the exoneration since I've learned as a person paying for bail "service" and with no prior knowledge as to how bail works that you are on your own and uninformed, especially when dealing with Bailnyc. On February 28th, I asked Elys Valdez about bailing him out again. After giving me an estimate on that day, I asked him to give me a breakdown of the amount. He didn't respond for three days. On March 1st, he texts me telling me to call him. I called him, and he told me that the judge is requiring collateral only for the bail bond. I asked him why and he said he had no idea. I thought this sounded strange and told him that I require a document stating that as proof since there was no indication of that on the NYC Department of Corrections Inmate Lookup system. He didn't respond. On March 5th he finally responds telling me that he went in front of the judge to have the property bond taken off. Once again, I found this very strange that one day he's asking me if my family has a business or a house we could put up as collateral and that he has no idea why the judge made it a collateral bond, but suddenly he has the ability to tell a judge to remove a bail condition that she set. On March 11th, under the advice of another bail company, I called the court myself. That's when they informed me that the $5,000 collateral had been exonerated on January 8th, 2018. On March 12th I told Valdez that the bail was exonerated and that I was going to pick up the money that day. He said it would be available the following week. I waited. Every week or so from March 12, 2018 I have contacted Valdez, only to hear one excuse after the next. The latest being that the lawyer has to exonerate the bail, even though I was standing right in front of him showing him the court's letter of exoneration. He insisted that the lawyer made a mistake. I've since learned that this is yet another lie. Once a judge exonerates it that's it it's done. On April 6, 2018 I called the complaint phone number on the receipt 850-413-5660 and I spoke to Blair Harvey. Frankly he sounded disinterested in knowing that a company insured by Roche is acting in a fraudulent manner. He said that the money was not at Roche and that he spoke to Eduardo and that he wasn't aware of what was going on. In the attached documents of my communications with Valdez you will see that he repeatedly states that he was in contact with the "insurance company" (Roche Surety and Casualty) and that Roche said they were securing a check for my collateral. I spoke to Eduardo, the owner of Bailnyc and he apologized, but did absolutely nothing to address the problem of Valdez's constant lying or correct the fact that they had not given me my collateral. He talked about how he's doing a service for the community and how different his business is because they don't have clients talk to them behind bullet proof glass and that collateral is returned within a matter of days unlike other bail companies that take more than a month. It's been almost 6 months since the bond was exonerated, and I still don't have my money so that's just another Bailnyc lie. I have images of text exchanges with Valdez to show how unethical and sneaky he is. I would post them, but I don't see how to attach the images. It's May 29th and I still don't have my money even though it was released by the court on January 8th.
