The way this was communicated felt less about professionalism and more about stereotyping and making assumptions based on appearance. As someone navigating the housing process, I expect respect, neutrality, and professionalism--not coded language or suggestions that reinforce harmful biases. But Deborah handled everything. First of all, she worked to have the property listed in several public (and private) listings and naturally we found a few buyers right away. Of course they low-balled us. Nothing is more insulting when you're trying to sell something and someone low-balls you. Deborah always kept her cool. And not only that, she truly is a masterful negotiator. We went from a low ball offer to having one buyer offering WAY OVER MARKET VALUE! And Deborah handled everything, the building inspector, the showings, taking all of the pictures, the back and forth between the buyer for every single question they asked. You name it and she handled it. And when it came time to close the deal, Deborah was right there in the board room to make sure the buyers didn't try to pull a fast one. And anytime the buyer tried to renegoitate the already agreed upon terms, Deborah was elegant yet firm in reminding the buyers what the agreed upon terms were.
