Shipped masks for Covid via DHL to my 90 year old Mom and 91 year old Aunt in Canada. The clerk accidentally made a mistake and listed the value of the package as $2400 instead of $200. I pointed out the mistake. Was told they would fix it after I left the store. When DHL went to deliver the package to my Mother, they wanted the custom duties on $2400 from her, which she didn't have as it was hundreds of dollars. I called them back. They claimed they had fixed it originally like they said they would and they would look into it and fix it and call me. They never called me back. They did not fix. I'm now on day 3 of dealing with this. I'm having to deal with DHL directly. The amount of unnecessary time and effort I'm having to spend would have been avoided had they known they just needed to create a new shipment label when the mistake was made. The fact that they said they would fix twice and never did and that they would call me back and never did is childish like a kid who locks and hides in their room when they done something wrong. Completely unprofessional. In my 47 years of life, I don't know if I've ever seen such cowardly behavior from a business. I'm sure if everything goes fine, they are fine to deal with. However, if something goes wrong, buyer beware. It is most likely not going to go well. read more
