Seriously though, this facility is so nice. I was so tired of boarding my horse in places that resembled stock yards where everyone was competitive and ornery. Here it feels good and welcoming. The area is beautiful, easy to access, and has miles of trails right from the barn. Oh also, they have a wonderful tack room with individual lockers for all my stuff. (Horse's are like babies - they have a lot of stuff.)

Do not ride at this barn. The owner is verbally abusive,…read moreimmature, has poor communication skills, and is overall unprofessional. I spent almost a full 3 years taking riding lessons from multiple different instructors at Sage Creek. The atmosphere at the facility is toxic. The owner and other riders snap at each other, screaming and swearing at each other. This is not a family friendly environment. From the start of my time, I told my first instructor Jacob that I wanted to continue practicing my English riding and horsemanship. It took him 4 lessons before he was able to give me an English lesson. After me asking multiple times if he was able to put me on an English saddle. Jacob and other coaches I worked with consistently pressured me to do competitions when I had no interest and made that clear. All instructors, including the owner, Donnette, are unreliable. I drove from an hour away, and it was not uncommon for me to arrive to find out my instructor scheduled two lessons at once, if not finding out the whole barn was out of town for a show and the staff simply weren't there. Donnette, specifically would consistently forget about lessons. I would have to confirm with text to make sure she'd be there just to have her still schedule another student on my time. Donnette has a history of emotional outbursts, discussion and communication are impossible with Donnette, if you expect to have a working relationship with your riding instructor she is not for you. Donnette expects sub-ordinance and no questions. Donnette, Dana, and Rebecca all contribute to the toxic environment at the barn by complaining about their clients loudly. I knew the barn had a problem with gossip and bullying but never imagined it could be so childish. One day I arrived at the barn and was told I was double booked. I was irritated but started to prepare for the lesson anyways. As I put in my ear peice radio, I heard Donnette around the corner with her previous client on her own radio. She was belittling me, thinking I couldn't hear her, " ...she looked like she was going to cry!" I told her I was leaving after I heard her and she yelled at me that I'm banned from her property and didn't stop yelled at me until I walked away. This barn is a joke. I refuse to stoke the owners ego anymore, and do not know why I put up with it for so long, such a waste of money. If anything this barn is 100% NOT child friendly.

While this is a tad lengthy, the background is necessary to where it will lead…read more I was introduced to Muscle Activation Technique (MAT) about 5-6 years ago. Due to issues with my back because of Scoliosis, I was in search of something different to help elevate my discomfort. Both my sisters-in-law were going to a MAT Master. Our niece was born pre-mature and had a ton of motor skill issues. I saw first-hand, the progress she made over the course of a couple of years with muscle activation. My other sister-in-law sought a MAT Master as the last resort to having neck surgery. While she had some range of motion back in her neck after one session, she continued with sessions for about 6 months (+) and then moved to a maintenance schedule. The surgery was never needed. Last summer, I had a series of MAT sessions scheduled until a bulging disc decided it was time to let its presence be known. While my back never bothered me during all of this, nor did I know I had a bulging disc, it left me with neuropathy around my right knee. I had surgery to correct, but trying to walk through the knee pain, my body compensated. This took a toll on my posture. Walking was strenuous. There was a minor complication to my incision which delayed starting PT for about a month. When I was finally able to start PT, I was very surprised how fast my muscles atrophied. During all this we were in the process of moving to UT. I so wanted to get back to MAT but schedules did not allow and moving day came. Sitting in a car for 1300 miles did not help. Fast forward to present day. After getting settled, finding a MAT Master was on the top of my list. Searching the Muscle Activation Technique website, I was very excited to find Jesse Wild, MAT Master in Park City, Jeremy Ranch area. I am on my second month MAT session with Jesse. My knee is almost back to 100%. The muscles in my legs are not jumping all over the place trying to compensate for the lack of strength lost. Jesse is patience, listens to what I think may be happening to my body, takes the time to explain why the lack of muscle movement may be taking place, and what muscles are involved. He is a true professional, takes his training / practice seriously, but is fun and down to earth. If you are at your wits end, have been told surgery is necessary, want to step outside the box, so to speak, and try something unique and different, you owe it to yourself to contact Jesse and give MAT a try. His office is conveniently located off I-80 and the Jeremy Ranch exit.

I started on the East end trail head ( Which isn't well marked) but I found it, and immediately the elevation gain starts I noticed how beautiful this trail is with lots of trees and bushes. Some wildflowers still blooming. It's really quite, and you can hear a pin drop. Birds were singing all the way down. Trail tilts slightly towards the cliff side, and the trail hugs the cliff most of the way. Just watch your steps it's rocky in spots along the trail. My feet are burning because I used the pipeline trail to make a loop. 7.1 miles and I got up to 7356 ft. Millcreek river is rushing pretty good. I did step in a low spot to get the dust off my boots. The water felt so cool. Keep your dogs home it's way to hot for them to be out in this heat. *No bathrooms on trail. **No snakes today.

After getting stranded at the Olympic Park (we lucked out on finding a ride there, but no one was available for a pickup) we contacted Citiride to pick us up and take us to my brother-in-law's house. The owner, Jimmy showed up in a minivan, and we were bummed to find he wasn't wearing a mask (they were not required in Utah at the time, but we were being cautious and weren't thrilled to be in a small, enclosed space with a stranger - we wore ours anyway). The ride was fine. We mentioned that we were surprised at the lack of rideshare drivers, and Jimmy launched into a monologue about how reliable his service was and made a big deal about how his team was available 364 days a year, gave us his card and told us to call him if we needed another lift. The next morning, we called him to pre-arrange a ride for our dinner date that evening. Jimmy answered and told us he was out of town and none of his other drivers were available - at all. Not even with 8 hours notice. So much for reliability. Still, with no one to turn to we reached out again to schedule a ride to the airport at the end of our trip. He was able to accommodate us and showed up on time. During our ride, his phone rang and he picked it up: we heard him tell the person on the line that he had no one available and referred them to a different ride service. Which means that 1) he's comfortable taking a phone call in the car, which is illegal, with passengers, which is dangerous and 2) he once again turned down a customer. A bit further into the ride, he suddenly turned and pointed out the window, swerving the vehicle, because he saw an elk. Overall, the ride was one of the more frightening I've been on. Once we arrived at the airport, he tells us that because he likes us, he is going to give us the discounted rate - 125 dollars!! My husband and I were speechless. We were expecting between $60 and $75 (and later confirmed similar prices with other area providers). Come to find out, Citiride can charge up to $150 for a ride to the airport. I couldn't believe we spent that amount of cash for the rough and frightening ride we just received. I would not recommend Citiride - but I WOULD recommend that you plan ahead for transportation while in Park City!
