10/10 experience here. My boyfriend and I have gone horseback riding in a few different places as we enjoy traveling but this by far has been the most informative and professional experience. You can genuinely tell they care for their horses deeply. We had Meghan as our guide and she was amazing. We did an exercise before starting the trail to grow trust between us and the horses which I appreciated. I had Kahlua, such a sweet girl who loved her head scratches. If you're considering this place, go for it! We had such a great time and felt completely comfortable. The trainers are knowledgeable, friendly, and make sure you feel confident before heading out. Being from Florida, I'd only ever ridden on the East Coast, but this was something totally new. It was just me and my husband, and I loved that it was a private ride. An experience of a lifetime. I came for my birthday with my group, & it was like we were in heaven. Dogs everywhere & horses neighing. I couldn't get enough! I can't imagine anyone ever being upset working in a place like this because the horses were all so sweet & loved. They assigned us to our specific horses & gave us a background on each -- they also told us how to handle them to ensure we got the best experience out of our time. When I say this isn't just your typical horseback rodeo, it was much more! It was bonding with the horse, advanced techniques to guide your horse, as well as teaching the horse that you're there to help guide them & not hurt them. We started off with exercises after walking our horses from their stable. I got Chico, who was this beautiful brown/black horse that has a rough history from the Mexican border. He was abused & stick thin before they nursed him back to health. All the horses here are to stay & none get sent away or go out to other ranches, so that makes my heart happy. We got to pick up our horses hooves to build trust, & we rode them into the sunset! It was such a beautiful experience as we dictated which direction & how fast our slow the horses could go. There was not a moment I didn't feel grateful to be able to ride my horse & it just makes me want to come back to visit soon. I recently visited KB Horses with my son's Boy Scout troop. We had a fantastic experience! Our group was big. I think we ended up with 17 boys & 2 leaders, so 19 total. But originally we thought we were going to have close to 40 & the staff at KB Horses was willing & ready to take on such a big group! Everyone was so friendly & great to work with! They requested the age, height, & weight of all the participants & then picked out the right horse for each of us. When we were told which horse we would be with, we were given specific details about each horse we'd be riding with - which was fun to learn & quite impressive considering there are over 60 horses there & the staff obviously knows each & every one of them personally. The instruction we received before our ride was just the way I like it - thorough, super helpful, & quick! It was clear that their #1 priority was safety & #2 was fun! Yes, there were times when we were single-file nose to tail (but that's unavoidable with such a large group) but there were also plenty of opportunities to lead our horses off the path & practice steering. An absolutely incredible experience for my 3 and 4-year old grandchildren. This isn't just your ordinary walk around the pony ring. They experienced all it takes to prepare the horses for the ride (brushing, saddening, etc) and treating them after the ride. Wranglers Santi and Jordan were beyond the best. They instilled so much confidence in these young children. They also taught them balance on the horse, how to back up the horse and turn them left and right. My 4-year-old granddaughter was a full-size quarter horse named Jasper, and my 3-year-old grandson was on a mid-size pony named Twinkle. My wife and I celebrated our one year anniversary and had the opportunity to ride the horses at KB Horses in Midway. It has been almost 20 years since I've been on a horse, so this was going to be an adventure for me! (My wife grew up on a farm and thinks it's "cute" that I wanted to go horseback riding-but she obliged.) The directions we were given to get to the stables were very detailed and took us right there. Ample parking and space greeted us, along with four very lively dogs that wanted to play fetch before we even got the keys out of the ignition. It was quite the welcome! After a quick review of paperwork, we were introduced to Erin-who would be our wrangler during the ride. She gave us a brief but complete orientation on what to expect and some basic instructions and then introduced us to our horses. During the reservation process, we had been asked height/weight/age and experience level riding. This helped them pair us up with the appropriate horse. I was paired with Dee Dee, whom I learned is a favorite. She was beautiful and very easy to ride. Although we were told that we could wander off the trail, Dee Dee kept right with the guide (which was fine with me since I was not very anxious to venture away.) My wife was paired with Chico, a sweet horse that really liked scratching himself on trees. It took her a little more direction to keep him on the trail, but nothing too extreme. Our wrangler, Erin, was personable and easygoing. She made me very comfortable and at ease. I appreciated her patience as she taught this "city girl" how to ride a horse. The views were breathtaking and the trail was easy enough to be comfortable but challenging enough to provide a little sense of adventure. I can't wait to go back and take my teenage son-I think he would love it! And I wouldn't mind getting back in the saddle again! read more

I can't say enough about this business. We had a horseback ride the day of my daughter's birthday from outfitter. We drove an hour and a half just to get there and when I called them they told me that they canceled due to the conditions, meanwhile it was a beautiful day that day. My daughter was so upset and heartbroken I had to pull over because I was just as upset as she was. At the very last minute I called Kb horses and they were able to stay late to fit us in for a trail ride for her birthday. After getting off the phone with Brenda the owner I just cried feeling so grateful that she made my daughter's dream come true. I also told Brenda that my daughter's favorite horse was Spirit, while we were signing our waivers they took out a horse that looked exactly like Spirit her her birthday. They taught her the coloring of the horse and what type of horse it was. At the moment I can't remember horse managers names but they were also so special. They both took us out on the trail ride and taught my daughter everything that she needed to know to be prepared for a ride. I could not wipe that beautiful smile off of her face. I loved the environment here. Loved the dogs that welcomed us with excitement. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. This is the ONLY place I found near Park City, Utah that will take kids under 8 years old. FYI, they do charge an extra fee to have a wrangler walk with your child but it was definitely worth it! I'm sorry, I forgot her name already! Something with an A... she was very friendly and helpful with setting my daughter at ease. She genuinely engaged with my 6 year old! I thought that was very sweet. Our leader was super awesome, too! Very knowledgeable, answered any and all questions we had about everything! Very kind and patient. Perfect for first time riders. My boyfriend booked us an hour tour with Carrie and she was an amazing guide. KB Horses assures you that your height and weight match with your horse. There was a hiccup with the horse I was supposed to ride but it worked out well because my new horse really just liked to cruise on the trail. The day we went it was pretty much the first snowfall in Heber and although it was freezing it was so much fun! It is owned and run by cowgirls, Brenda is the owner and she is a tough women. She made sure that we were safe on the horse and that we knew how to steer the horses. Horsemanship is very important so if you don't have the confidence to guide your horse, don't do it in the first place. We are definitely going back for all seasons. I only have wonderful things to say about KB Horses. We had a party of 6 and left making reservations till the last minute, but Brenda found time especially for us! And that was just the beginning of a great ride! Out of the 6 of us 2 had extensive horse knowledge, 2 hadn't been on a horse in 30 years, and 2 had never been around a horse. Brenda matched us up with the right horse for everyone. I've been on plenty of nose to tail vacation trail rides, which are boring and usually the horses only want to eat along the way. Not so with our horses. Not one tried to eat the grass and if we wanted to change our riding order the horses were willing to listen! I was amazed that they required a ground lesson before we mount. To get us use to the horse and them us. Leading and lifting a hoof instilled confidence in our new riders. The wrangler's, Carrie and Caroline were amazing and made sure everyone was comfortable on the horse, steering the horse and stopping the horse before we went out. I could keep listing the many wonderful aspects of the ranch, but in short, Brenda loves her horses and loves passing along her knowledge and love to others. I brought a group of 6 women here for a trail ride for my sister's April Park City bachelorette. We were each assigned horses for the ride, briefed on their personalities, and given training in handling and riding. This is the first trail ride I've ever been on where the horses don't just follow each other nose-to-tail and it was Wonderful!! All of the horses were so sweet and clearly very well taken care of. We only rode about 15' before rain started and we had to turn back, but we all had such a nice experience. Don't plan on having the bride-to-be wear a veil, since we were told this can scare the horses! Brenda was great to communicate with and made sure we had a good time. Rates were extremely reasonable considering the quality of the experience. I definitely want to come back again next time I'm in the area! read more

From the quick and personal response to my initial email to the breathtaking and personalized private ride through the mountains, my experience at KB was wonderful (and indicative of how wonderful Utah is!). Brenda, who wants to make sure she is able to give every single guest a great experience, was amazing and accommodating from start to finish. I was looking for a place where I could have a bit more flexibility than your typical group nose-to-tail rides - and KB was the perfect fit. Our guide, Emily, was so sweet and knowledgeable about horses and the landscape, making for a fun an informative ride. She was also able to teach my friend (who'd never ridden a horse in her life) the basics, while still making sure I had a great ride (as I've ridden a bunch in my life). You can tell that Brenda's horses are not only obedient and hard working, but they're well taken care of by people who know how to. She cares about teaching everyone who comes for a ride a bit about horses, too. Being from NY, I was eager to have an "authentic" Utah experience - and you can certainly find that at KB. From the expansive views of the valley and the mountains and the quiet you experience at the top of the mountain, you feel one with nature and the horses. Add in the sweet farm dogs who are on the property, and the knowledge that the horses are working horses (they help herd cattle, do search and rescue, etc.), you don't feel like a tourist. Brenda is being serious when she says the experience is like riding someone's personal horses - when our ride was over us New Yorkers couldn't get an Uber to come up the mountain - so Brenda offered to drive us to town and then recommended her favorite lunch spot. It was as if we were guests in her home - I couldn't believe how hospitable she and the staff were! When I return to Utah, I'll be back! read more

Man I want to give this place a 5 star rating but I just can't. I'll admit I was pretty excited to get out there and ride especially after reading the reviews. But there are pros and cons to be aware of: Pros: they own the horses and know them very well so they can pair you up with the appropriate horse for you. They're very knowledgeable and obviously care about their horses a lot. I loved the dog friendly atmosphere and Brenda- the owner is very kind. Shannon was too once she warmed up to me a bit. I was about a half hour late because of work and she was obviously irritated about that and I found it interesting that I, the customer paying to ride, had to reassure her that everything was going to be okay and we could adjust. But she was great once we got going on the ride and very friendly. This place is also excellent for beginner riders. They're great about breaking things down and making sure you're comfortable and know the basic horsemanship skills needed for a trail ride (they're pretty strict about this-don't worry they won't let you do anything deemed unsafe). And my girl Mea was so sweet and did fantastic! Can't forget how beautiful the views are either!! Cons: Based on their website and the reviews I was looking forward to a personalized ride since I 1) was paying extra to be by myself with a guide and 2) I was by myself and I'm an experienced rider (by no means an expert, but I've been riding for 20 years so...I'm comfortable). What I ended up getting was your basic trail ride that didn't seem very personalized at all and was very simple.. we just rode around the outskirts of a developing neighborhood. It seemed no different than any other trail or ride she'd take anyone on. So I'm not sure what about it was worth the extra money or why it's called a personalized ride... as an experience rider I was kind of expecting to be treated that way but I felt like I was treated like a beginner which is nice if you are...but kind of irritating when you're not. I wouldn't pay what I did to do this again. Basically if you're a beginner or have kids and are looking for an awesome experience than this is the place for you!They'll make you feel very comfortable! But experienced riders might want to consider other options if you want a challenge or something more engaging. read more

When we were researching horse riding options for a short trip to Utah, it was important for the experience to be unique and tailored to us. This is exactly what Carrie provided us for our two hour ride through Heber valley. She matched us with Tucker and Chico, who were a pair of the most chill horses I think I'll ever meet. We started by getting acquainted with our horses and learning how to maneuver before heading for the trails. A couple of their resident pups followed along and were great company. Carrie was very personable and was kind enough to snap some photos of us along the way. She made sure that we were comfortable along the ride and even helped us with saddle adjustments along the way. 2 hours was the perfect riding time for us and allowed us to really take in the beauty that Utah has to offer.
