We couldn't ask for a better adventure day for our girls trip. Some of us coming from sport and working dog Professions we loved seeing these dogs doing what they were bred to do. Went to visit Park city between Dec 13-20 2023 and I've been looking fwd to my first dog sledding experience. I've made an appointment with All Season Adventure months in advance but they called me last minute to inform me that there's not enough snow for them to hold the appointment. I was very dissapointed but decided to check with our concierge at Hyatt Centric to see if they can recommend a different outfit. They checked in their computer and they said I was in luck. They were able to find me a last minute reservation with North Forty Escapes ! We went with an hour dog sledding session and we glad we did. The location is in Oakley which is around 40-45 minutes from Park City. They had a rustic cabin where you can change and relax, after that they'll take you with ATV to where the dogs been waiting. There are 2 of us and the sled is pulled by 8 dogs. Our guide, Tul, is a professional. He made the 1 hour treck very fun and educational. The sled equipped with cover and blanket. It's definitely setup to make your experience very relaxing and comfortable. The dog are energetic and friendly. I'll really recommend anyone who are looking for unforgettable experience to consider them for your dog sledding adventure. read more

This is a bit late, as we went in March. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Everything about them was great. They are the only tour operators on the mountain, so you are away from the crowds. Our tour guide Walt was amazing. Informative, funny, entertaining. Our group had a variety of rider levels, so they divided us into groups to ensure the best experience. Walt accommodated our requests for stops, photo shoots, etc. My son said it was the highlight of his trip. Oh and being greeted at the door of the cabin by the sweetest dog, Mister, was a bonus! We had SUCH an awesome experience this past weekend snow mobiling with our guide, Walt! We went as a group of 5, all but one of us were complete beginners and had no problems at all. The views were breathtaking. Once we made it about halfway through the tour, there was a meadow where we were able to play around on the snow mobiles and Walt even gave a couple of us a ride on the back of his and did some tricks which was so fun - never felt in danger at all! The best time! Went on dog sled tour and had a great time, picked up at hotel and shuttled there in comfort. Saw two bald eagles on the drive in! We had looked up a place to go dog sledding and we didn't have much hope because it was only a week in advance. Luckily, they had a package deal with 1hr of dog sledding and 1hr of snowmobiling. We had absolutely no expectations but this place blew us away. Our guide is named Mak and he was absolutely delightful, he even took photos of us with the dogs and next to the sled. He also led us up and down the mountain on snowmobile and it was breath taking. The views here are unmatched and the employees are so friendly and helpful. It's a thirty minute or so drive from Park City but SO WORTH IT. We will definitely be back and using North Forty Escapes. read more

Very dangerous & not for any beginners or those who have no experience navigating any type of motorbike. It's very easy to get stuck in surprisingly deep snow. The instructor even got stuck after chastising the group on how annoying it is when others do it. Some parts of the mountain are very narrow & you can easily veer off a cliff. I'm honestly just grateful that I made it back in one piece. I wasn't expecting this type of tour when I booked it. Be careful. read more

So Much Fun!! This was my first time taking a snowmobile tour in Utah and North Forty Escapes provided a fantastic experience. I called that morning and my friend and I were able to get in later the same day. Our guide Walt was friendly, entertaining and very patient with us newbies. He took us up to the top of the mountain with an amazing view. We drove through snowy trails with of lots hills and valleys that provided a super fun ride. We also had the chance to drive around free-style in a huge meadow before heading back to the ranch. My recommendations: wear your ski gear. They have snow suits, helmets goggles, etc. if you need them but it's nice to have your own stuff. Arrive early to suit up, see the dogs and get ready for your adventure. The snow mobile tour lasts two hours so go to the bathroom before heading out. The time goes by fast because there is so much to see in the mountains. Take advantage of the shuttle service. Skinny is very knowledgeable on all things Utah and makes the drive back to PC go fast. If you're looking for a fun activity outside of town, definitely take the snow mobilling tour or the dog sledding tour. Total cost 1 person, 1 machine, 2hours = $173 fully loaded plus tip. You won't be disappointed. read more

We had an amazing time on our two hour snowmobiling tour with Walt! Stillman Ranch is an amazing place with beautiful trails to wide open meadows with incredible views. Our tour was in mid-March, which made conditions at the base a bit muddy and wet. Once we climbed the trail a bit, the snow was great. I think somewhere I read a negative review about this outfit in which somebody went off trail and was really upset about it. All I can say is, action motor sports are definitely not for everyone, but North Forty definitely provides a safe snowmobiling environment for everyone to give it a try. read more

We've been coming here for years for dog sledding and snow mobile ride. They are so amazing!!! The staff here are extremely friendly and professional. They have helmets and goggles ready for you if you decide to snow mobile. The staff will help you find the right fit too. They moved to a new location, and the office is a lot bigger, very organized and clean. My daughter loves to go dog sledding and meet all the dogs (they are so friendly too). The staff allows older kids (my daughter is 8) to mush the dogs for a few minutes and she said she had the best time doing it. She also got to go down a hill with a disc sled twice! We were only in Utah for a couple days and this was by far the highlight of the trip. Walt is the best guide and very encouraging to young kids. During our stay in park city we chose to go snowmobiling with North Forty Escapes. While they do offer a shuttle from town, we decided to drive the scenic route over. None of us had gone sledding before, so I was a little nervous but very excited to try something new, especially since I'm boring and don't have a "need for speed" like my boys do We couldn't have chosen a better company! Once we arrived we got checked in and got set up with helmets and goggles. Their main reception area was cozy and warm, and the complimentary hot cocoa was a nice to warm up from the cold. We headed outside and after a quick tutorial on the sled operation and we were off! We were led through the trails and up the mountain. Carson was the best guide, stopping for a few photos along the way and giving us some history about the area and the property. He also let us stop in a meadow so the boys can have fun testing out the speed of the sleds, while my daughter and I opted for selfies. My wife and I were first time snowmobilers (if that is a word), and were a bit nervous about this new experience. Our guide (Walt) put us to ease quickly with his knowledge and confidence. The machines looked brand new and were top of the line - very powerful. They have the extras needed to keep you safe - goggles, helmets, and even boots if you need them. We departed from a beautiful valley and quickly rode to the tops of mountains - I had never seen anything like the snow covered vistas we witnessed along the way. I did my best to follow our guide and still ran off the trail a couple of times. Walt told me what to do if I lost control and it worked perfectly - just take my hand off the throttle. (duh) We saw fresh moose, deer, and rabbit tracks in the champagne snow, but must have scared them off. Walt tried hard to find some wildlife for us, but it was not to be. This was one of the best experiences in my life - so glad we went, but wish I had protected my lips better - wound up up with industrial strength chapped lips. PLEASE BE AWARE before you book a snowmobile ride with this company. My wife and I and two boys went out last weekend and had a life threatening experience. We were recommended this company from our concierge at the Wyndam Hotel, but wish we would have went somewhere else. Let me first start off by saying that this company is not run very well. When you call to make an appointment you are almost always reaching one of the employees out on the trails. They don't have anyone sitting in an office, so the employees that are out on a tour often answer the phone while they are on the trail. They were rushed and not warm and friendly when we called. We asked if it was safe to bring our kids with us and they said it was perfectly fine. Well let me tell you, it was not safe at all. The trail they took us on, is only for very experienced riders who have been riding snowmobiles or dirt bikes most of their life. I have been doing these type of motorized sports most of my life and this trail was even advanced for myself. You immediately begin on a single track with constant switchbacks. You go up and up a large mountain and at many points are on a side of a cliff with a huge drop down. One wrong move and you can easily fall of the cliff. Unfortunately that is what happened to my wife. There was one very challenging turn equivalent to a 180 degree turn and her snowmobile got stuck in the rut of others and would not turn easily no matter how hard she tried to turn it. Right before my eyes I saw her and my son fly off a cliff at full speed. They were going extremely fast and stopped by hitting a tree. Both flew off and got very lucky that they only had minor injuries. However, if that tree wasn't there she could have continued until she dropped down into a 50' huge ravine. It was extremely terrifying and they got very lucky. Meanwhile our tour guide was nowhere nearby to see that she had crashed. The company needs to disclose better exactly what type of trails these are and at least practice on the flat areas and. This is not a flat open field like some of the other companies. If this is your first or second time, I suggest you go other places. In addition, the company needs to do a better job spending time with the clients and teaching them how to ride the machines. If they are going to allow beginner riders than they need to spend a good amount of time with them teaching them the machine and having them do test runs before they bring them up a very large mountain with a cliff. In addition, the overall vibe of the place was really poor. Not only were they rude on the phone, but they are also cold and rude when you get there. You can tell that they just want to get through each tour as quickly as possible and make their tips. The employees don't seem to get along very well, which was very obvious. All these things contributed to why my wife crashed. While on the tour, not once did the tour guide stop and check to see how we were doing. He was way ahead and would slow down every once in a while to catch a glimpse of us, but would speed up once he caught sight of us. If he would have asked us early on in the ride, we would have asked to turn around. We had our two young boys on the back and quickly learned that this is not a safe situation to put them in. Once my wife crashed, we had to wait close to 10 minutes for him to realize that we crashed. And when he did discover we crashed, he definitely was more annoyed and worried about the snowmobile than my wife and son. When our tour guide tried to reach the other guide for help, the other guide purposely would not answer his walkie talkie. We were told that this is because he wanted to make the tips to himself, so he didn't want the other guy to catch up to him at any point. I later learned that someone died the previous week at another facility while snowmobiling doing something very similar to what my wife did. People crash these things often and we are never told about that. PLEASE BEWARE that this is a very dangerous sport and these are heavy machines that can crash and crush you easily. Please make sure that you feel comfortable riding it and with the trails. I wish someone had warned me-or rather the company would give a disclaimer-I would not have risked my life or my children life for a snowmobile ride. Also note- I paid for the damage of the snowmobile. This is not about money. This is about safety!! read more
