I visited Humming Puppy through ClassPass and can't wait to get back. I'll get to the yoga in a second but I think it's worth mentioning all of the amenities these guys provide. Want to take a shower? They provide complimentary towels and bath products. Need to charge your phone? They've got portable chargers. Thirsty? Have some coconut water or a tea. Forgot your hair tie? They've got you covered. There's a great area outside of the studio that I could definitely see hanging out in just to avoid leaving this studio! The studio itself is a bit dark and mysterious looking, and it "hums." I took a Mellow Hum class, which was a yin-esque class where the room was heated to 27 degrees. The instructor was amazing, and the hour flew by way quicker than I wanted it to. This studio is also a 5 minute walk from the Redfern station so really easy to get to!

First class free!…read more After coming here, I don't think I'll like other studios where the lights stay on bright and there are mirrors. It's so relaxing with out them. They have beautiful images of Sydney waiting for you whenever you face forward and the mats are all set up for you at the start of class. The studio is clean and hygenic, with quality equipment and great extras (like supplied towels, because as if I can remember to bring my own). Studio classes are a max of 4 students at a time, so you generally get personalised attention unless it's a particularly busy Saturday morning and things are a bit crazy. Teachers spend time learning about each students body and modifying the program where necessary to make each student comfortable - I always feel confident that I'm in good hands, no matter which teacher I'm seeing or how badly my back is playing up. The only down side is being in a studio class when an XTend Barre class is on - the soundtrack is terrible! Haha I kid (although some of the songs should be left in the 90s)

I attended the relaunch party last night and while there were canapes and live tunes and drinks what I really got excited about was the venue: a white-walled space ready to be transformed into whatever, whenever. A blank canvas waiting for imagination to recreate it into anything the user desires. Light globes hang low from the ceiling. Entry is up the stairs of a repurposed loading dock. The night was fairly warm and humid but the venue remained cool enough even though it was packed with people. This is defo worth keeping in mind if you're an event coordinator/PR/marketing peep looking for cool, new venues for events.
