I visited Humming Puppy through ClassPass and can't wait to get back. I'll get to the yoga in a second but I think it's worth mentioning all of the amenities these guys provide. Want to take a shower? They provide complimentary towels and bath products. Need to charge your phone? They've got portable chargers. Thirsty? Have some coconut water or a tea. Forgot your hair tie? They've got you covered. There's a great area outside of the studio that I could definitely see hanging out in just to avoid leaving this studio! The studio itself is a bit dark and mysterious looking, and it "hums." I took a Mellow Hum class, which was a yin-esque class where the room was heated to 27 degrees. The instructor was amazing, and the hour flew by way quicker than I wanted it to. This studio is also a 5 minute walk from the Redfern station so really easy to get to!

She also has some free relaxation/breathing classes in the later afternoon that I have yet to try, but plan to! :)

My boyfriend and my housemate also could not resist, and now we have set up a little routine of going to yoga all together a few times a week - it's a great bonding experience! I love this studio for so many reasons. They have an app which makes checking the schedule a breeze, and you can check in for the class online. All of the teachers are amazing and really friendly. The classes are fun, hot, and I always leave feeling 100% better than I did before. The teachers all have fun in their classes which I really enjoy, and a few of them make a point of remembering my name, which I really appreciate! I've grown to love this studio, it now feels like my second home. I'm so happy to have found it and will definitely continue on after the intro period. I wasnt sure about the heat at first but now I love it ;) it adds another level for my concentration that Ive learned helps me relax. The heat helps me move, stretch and bend so it really opens up my body-it feels so goood! I wish i could do Bikram Yoga everyday like some people do... The poses are not too complex like youre used to seeing elsewhere- not feet behind the head, no handstands, no 'acrobatic' stuff! Just a great simpl sequence that I see different ppl of shapes and sizes and abilties can all do together. And non of this advanced levels and 10 week courses to try and commit to... The Beginners Intro passes are great as you may need a little time to get used to the sequence, the heat and the different lengthed classes. I appreciate the free lockers with keys available, as well as free yoga mat storage at the studio -- very convenient! I've taken classes with several instructors, and each one has impressed me with how challenging the class is. I love that despite the fact you may be taking the same type of class (Vinyasa, beginner's), class formats and flows aren't necessarily the same. This means you have something exciting to look forward to every time you go. The instructors are all so friendly and warm. They'll often walk around and help students with alignment, or prompt them to go deeper and achieve new gains. Since coming here, I've learned how to do basic moves so much better, as well as go for more advanced poses with a lot of encouragement. Val, David, Shawn and Blair are all fantastic instructors, and each one brings a unique energy to class. If you live in Chatswood or can make a class here before or after work, I'd highly recommend it. I leave each class feeling invigorated, happy, and looking forward to the next one.

Figure it out. It's easy to find - new address is in the tips - the facilities are nice and clean and the yoga room itself is wide enough that you don't feel cramped. The class was interesting, accessible to a newbie like me and even though I could have used a few extra tips as I was practising, I was able to go through most of it without feeling too dumb. For the most part vinyasas were optional and Rosh - who trained in Anusara - did a great job of building up to an advanced posture (if you dig that sort of journey you will enjoy her teaching).

Luckily, during that time, a promo was running that I took advantage of and afterwards, I renewed because Preshana is truly something special. I can honestly say that it's changed my life for the better through the knowledgeable and extraordinary instructors who will challenge you. Yoga is not just physical, it's a whole package: mind, body, and spirit and that's the very reason why I love it! It's not always easy but if you're open to it, this is a space that cultivates change and evokes you to dig deep within yourself and grow from it. Heart Glow by Kelli and Release & Re-align (and other classes) by Vanessa are the ones I highly frequent and recommend. The room is large and never cramped which allows you your own personal space to perform your own way. The staff here are incredibly friendly and great you personally by name and if they don't know you they make an effort to ask your name so they will remember next time. There are a lot of instructors so you will have to find your favorite and give other instructors a shot if you're unhappy with your first experience. I LOVE SUZY. She is amazing. You will definitely love her. The other instructors are pretty unfriendly, but that shouldn't deter you because the classes are fine. You can rent a mat for $2 and a towel for an additional $2. Unlike other places I've been, lots of students do this so it feels very acceptable. If you're a beginner considering trying this place, there are a few things you should know: (1) There is a first-time Bikram student in every class without fail, so you will not feel alone at being a newb. I've never been in classes with so many beginners, and it was comforting as I don't know what I'm doing. (2) The classes are huge, so you will get less firsthand attention than you will at other studios. After doing it for a couple weeks, I was frustrated at how little they were helping out first timers with really important and obvious adjustments. You might find this lack of attention frustrating. (3) There is a 10 day pass for $20. It's a steal, so you should try Bikram out here to see if you like this style of yoga in general.
