I luckily found Barefoot Yoga and get it and believe yoga will be a part of my life for years to come. I had been going 2-3 times per week for the past 2 weeks. I have been to classes with various instructors who are all talented and very welcoming and friendly. After a class I feel calm, centered and connected to my body. Classes are also physically challenging so I am getting a workout and have already seen the changes in my body after just 2 weeks. I also love that it is donation based, this sets the tone for an experience that is never elitist or intimidating. Thanks so much Barefoot!

Yip, imagine tying yourself up in a harness and spending most of your Yoga class upside down strapped to a wall.... to some this may totally freak you out - but for me - I LOVE IT - I consider it my heaven.... You see Wall Yoga, uses gravity to push your body deeper and deeper into its stretches... which is you're a yoga lover like me - you're gonna adore... Is this for beginners? I don't know - the gym says yes, but I think you will get more value out of it if you're more experienced.... The one warning I would have is you do spend a decent amount of time hanging suspended from the ground - upside down....if this freaks you out, i would give it a miss.... Classes last for an hour and available to members or for drop in's ($25)...

The studio is conveniently located near the QVB and I find the environment serene and not overly crowded--no appendages or bums in my face! Rebecca is the sole instructor and is clear and calm when instructing. If planning to go several times a month, I recommend purchasing the 10 pass book as it ends up being $15/class. She also has some free relaxation/breathing classes in the later afternoon that I have yet to try, but plan to! :)

Including myself, the class had seven students so there was no jostling for space among us. The class was a very nice way to start the day. For the most part vinyasas were optional and Rosh - who trained in Anusara - did a great job of building up to an advanced posture (if you dig that sort of journey you will enjoy her teaching).

I'd always pass by it and seen the upstairs from Oxford Street opposite the road. But it was only a few months ago that I came here thanks to a friend who recommended that I try it out. Luckily, during that time, a promo was running that I took advantage of and afterwards, I renewed because Preshana is truly something special. I can honestly say that it's changed my life for the better through the knowledgeable and extraordinary instructors who will challenge you. Yoga is not just physical, it's a whole package: mind, body, and spirit and that's the very reason why I love it! It's not always easy but if you're open to it, this is a space that cultivates change and evokes you to dig deep within yourself and grow from it. Heart Glow by Kelli and Release & Re-align (and other classes) by Vanessa are the ones I highly frequent and recommend. Their style of teaching is different from one another but I adore their individual styles because it resonates with me. But give the other classes and instructors a go. However, what others may not know is that this particular studio feels a tad warmer than others I've been too (namely Caringbah, Petersham and Lane Cove) so the pro here is, you will most likely get deeper into some of your poses, but the con? You literally sweat buckets as you're doing your poses, which of course is fine right up until you do separate leg head to knee where that sweat just drips into your eyes and nose urggghhh. This studio provides mats and towels, sprays to clean your mats post class, showers and lockers and of course, a drinks fridge for when your body is craving some coconut water (at a cost). The teachers here are great and the schedule of classes aplenty so there is always a class to get to during the week - heads up, the 5:30pm and 7:30pm classes are often to capacity (40ppl) so expect a fair bit of sweat flying about the place. Also, stay out of the far back corner, unless you really want to know what hell is like - hottest part of the room, I swear its like 45 degrees there!!

First class free!…read more After coming here, I don't think I'll like other studios where the lights stay on bright and there are mirrors. It's so relaxing with out them. They have beautiful images of Sydney waiting for you whenever you face forward and the mats are all set up for you at the start of class. At the end they rub your face and neck with lavender cream which was really relaxing. There's also tea which was delicious.

The entire place is beautifully decorated to help you feel like you've really escaped the city. There's a screen in the class with some scenery videos playing, it's not distracting at all. And the instructors and staff were very helpful and welcoming! Class was both challenging but also suitable for first timers. I find that I get more out of yoga classes with more of a vinyasa flow. I can't wait for my next class at Urban Yoga!

It is relatively new and is quieter than its city counterpart which I prefer. They have a huge range of class times, morning and afternoon as well as the weekend. The owner Suzy is warm and welcoming and so encouraging. If you haven't tried Xtend before, make sure you try this place first. Before you know it, you'll be - eat, sleep, Xtend, repeat!!

My boyfriend and my housemate also could not resist, and now we have set up a little routine of going to yoga all together a few times a week - it's a great bonding experience! I love this studio for so many reasons. They have an app which makes checking the schedule a breeze, and you can check in for the class online. All of the teachers are amazing and really friendly. The classes are fun, hot, and I always leave feeling 100% better than I did before. The teachers all have fun in their classes which I really enjoy, and a few of them make a point of remembering my name, which I really appreciate! I've grown to love this studio, it now feels like my second home. I'm so happy to have found it and will definitely continue on after the intro period. I wasnt sure about the heat at first but now I love it ;) it adds another level for my concentration that Ive learned helps me relax. The heat helps me move, stretch and bend so it really opens up my body-it feels so goood! I wish i could do Bikram Yoga everyday like some people do... The poses are not too complex like youre used to seeing elsewhere- not feet behind the head, no handstands, no 'acrobatic' stuff! Just a great simpl sequence that I see different ppl of shapes and sizes and abilties can all do together. And non of this advanced levels and 10 week courses to try and commit to... The Beginners Intro passes are great as you may need a little time to get used to the sequence, the heat and the different lengthed classes. Just talk to the staff and students and they will help you ;)
