I am 50 years old, overweight, and about as flexible as a broomstick. I have had ZERO dance or gymnastics training in my life. I've never done the splits or even a pullup. My upper body strength is lacking. And sometimes I lack confidence in myself. In just a mere 3 months of Lyra classes, Aerial Dragonfly had me performing a wide variety of moves, poses, and flows in the Lyra, and they helped me develop so much conviction in my abilities, my body type, and my age. I became stronger and much more confident, and with the encouragement of my instructors and new friends, I participated in their spring Student Showcase. I was literally performing in front of a large, supportive crowd after THREE MONTHS of learning and practicing at the Aerial Dragonfly. It was amazing! I've *never* been in a community that was so instantly supportive, fun, encouraging, and gentle. I've spent time with 4-5 instructors and learned something new every time. I've made so many friends and I look forward to seeing them every week. We really support each other and enjoy each other...from all walks of life. You have nothing to lose. You can sign up for one class at a time. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish, and the incredible community you can become part of. Your age, your experience, your body type-none of these things will hold you back if you just give them a try. You CAN fly!

I'm proud to support a woman owned business and a Veteran owned business. I've taken two lessons so far: Lyra (aerial hoop) and trapeze. Both of my lessons have been with Dari. She is one of the owners and she's amazing! Such a patient and kind teacher. I felt instantly welcomed in the space. Such a spacious and beautiful studio! There is a parking lot too. This studio offers a variety of modalities, including aerial hammock, aerial yoga, pole dancing, Lyra, trapeze, aerial silks and more. I plan on trying everything! Plenty of mats and things to stay safe. It's easy to book classes online through their website, and they offer packages too. These are private lessons, and the prices are very reasonable. It's amazing how much I get to try and learn in one hour! Such a gift to receive one on one training like this. Wow! Fantastic workout and so much fun. I'm really grateful I found this studio. I highly recommend coming here.

It is a non-profit organization, always looking for a helping hand. They were closed the other day when I visited. This location is run solely by volunteers, and had no signs with hours of operation. Ah, but during my visit, a couple of the volunteers happened to stop by and gave me information about the organization. I took a brief walk around the well manicured grounds and found that they have a farm museum, carriage house, root cellar, smoke house, summer kitchen, school house and of course, the Wisner Mansion. While I was there, I shot a picture of the historical marker which is prominently displayed close to the roadway. Their next big event is an Ice Cream Social on 26 JUL 2014 and it promises to be a great time. Hours of operation are 11am - 4pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, library included. Group tours are scheduled in advance. I see it's been a little slow here in updating info, so contact Sara at 248-338-6732 or office@ocphs.org with any questions or to RSVP. Web site: www.ocphs.org. As time went by, and fewer people met the eligibility requirements, membership was opened to the descendants of pioneers and other residents of the county. Throughout the 19th and 20th century, the Society collected newspapers, books, photographs, manuscripts, and artifacts relating to Oakland County, and the collections were stored in the county courthouse in downtown Pontiac. The only clue as to what is inside in a small sign in the lawn emblazoned with the GM logo - which I suspect is deliberate to throw off snoopers. If you love automobiles, the GM Heritage Center is a bucket list worthy destination. A rotating collection of over 700 historic, groundbreaking and innovative vehicles are on display here. Over 160 vehicles are on display at any given time and vehicles are swapped out several times a year I'm told. Chevrolet, Pontiac, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Buick, GMC and even Holden were represented here during my visit. There is also a nice collection of historical memorabilia from GM Design as well as a lot of historically significant engines on display. There is no touching or sitting but, you can get right up and peek in the windows of most cars - no velvet ropes! As the name suggests, this isn't a museum but a private collection. As such, the collection isn't open to the general public but it is able to be reserved for groups. It's surprisingly affordable when you consider that what's in the collection cannot be seen anywhere else, ever - and is probably easily valued in excess of 100 million dollars. No rambling review I could write would ever be able to do this place justice so, just do yourself a favor and get a group together and come down here. If you need a +1 hit me up, I'd go back again in a second!
