Great divey atmosphere with even better food. The menu is Belgium-American: sandwiches, burgers, and moules and frites (mussels and fries). A friend and I split the fish and chips, and the mussels. The fries were stand out, crispy outside and good potato flavor. The steak tips dinner was reported by a friend to be "delightful". The friend who got the burger said it was just average. The French dip was better than average, and the jus was on the side. We also shared the pretzel sticks as a group. The bread was great, slight crisp on the outside, soft inside. I think the only disappointment was the cheese, the flavor was good, but it was too thin. They have a nice beer list, including this great Swedish cider that I haven't seen many places. We went on a Monday and made the mistake of not reserving the feather bowling, and they were full. There was live music at 8:30!

Delicious Belgian food and beers. Very cool atmosphere. Excellent service! And of course, Feather Bowling!! This is the only place in the United States where you can enjoy this Belgian game. You roll balls down a lane and try to get them as close to the feather as possible. It's similar to bocce ball, but better. The food here is delicious. The mussels are phenomenal! I also enjoyed my sausage, cabbage, and spinach mashed potatoes. They have their own large free parking lot, which is so nice. This place is a must try.

Came by here for dinner one evening when my friends and I were in Detroit this past summer. Apparently, the actor/comedian Keegan Michael Key had spoken highly of this place, and that was enough of a reason for one of my friends to want to come by here. Once we came in here, we were greeted and served by 2 very friendly servers. Their menu consists of primarily Belgian dishes and specialties. We opted for an order of their pretzel sticks with a cheese dip to start with, and I got their grilled cheese sandwich with fries and an additional side of green beans added on. I realize neither of those dishes are particularly unique to Belgian, but traditional Belgian food isn't very vegetarian friendly also, so I was limited to what I could have. The true draw of this place is their unique feather bowling lanes. Both lanes were taken when we were done with our meal and had wandered over to peruse. We were a little timid about playing against anybody else, but a very nice family played let us play against them and told us the rules of the game. It was very fun, albeit very messy as the lanes are sort of carved into the dirt. We didn't get to see any live music here, but that along with their large beer menu and feather bowling makes this a pretty unique place to come visit. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to try something new for a change.

Cadieux Cafe is a great little Belgian spot on Mack close to Grosse Point. The live music is amazing, and the food is just as good! Be sure to order up the mussels! They have different variations & the portions are large enough to share! The beer selection is vast, a lot of imports. There is a large patio to chill outside. The servers are inviting & the space is cozy. Live music Thursday through Sunday!

An eastside family-owned staple since the 1930's, when it served a Belgian enclave, then located near Grosse Pointe, Michigan. It continues this tradition, serving an extensive selection of Belgian beer, along with a great number of other beers and hard liquor. One of their specialties are mussels, that are offered several ways ($21.95). I have had all three versions and have never been disappointed. They also offer Belgian-style rabbit, sausage, and beer stew entrees, as well as a selection of burgers and other bar food. It has a great, vintage bar/restaurant interior, and offers traditional Belgian feather bowling in the back (think sort of bocce ball in a trough). They have league play, but you can reserve a "lane" as well. There is outdoor dining in season. Friendly staff, with a lot of regular customers, and a true "neighborhood" feel.

A fun place with good food, but the service was horrible and straight rude (except the barkeeper who was truly amazing).

Ask the Community - Cadieux Cafe

Do they take reservations? I've never been, would like to bring group of 5 including two 85-year-olds, no standing around waiting for very long!

I know they take reservations if you are feather bowling. Just to eat, I don't believe so.

I remember pigeon races there, years ago; Is it still happening?

No, they have not happened for decades. Maybe we should bring them back?

The menu is small, but perfect to try out new recipes. I opted for the bolognese pasta and mussel appetizer. Every item was fresh made and you can tell. The food had a perfect portion for each. The ambiance was great, the music was enjoyable, and we also had great seats. There is a $25 cover charge, which was added to the bill. The food was very good. I ordered red wine, which paired nicely with the tenderloin tips. We also had the Brussels sprouts and the shrimp & grits, everything was well-seasoned and delicious. One thing worth noting is the restroom location. The ladies room requires going up the stairs along the stage, while the men's room is located downstairs. When returning, you have to walk back across the side of thr stage and down a few steps. Unfortunately, as the musician was moving backward, I was trying to walk to the stairs and I ended up tripping and slightly twisting my ankle. Thankfully, I wasn't seriously injured, just a lil sore the next day; but it did feel a little hazardous. Not sure if the stairs had lighting on it or a rail. But, overall it was a great experience, and I would definitely return and I'll be more careful navigating the stairs from the stage area.
