I went today to get Christmas gifts for all my horsey friends, as I do every year. As soon as I walked in the door, the sales girl asked me to check my purse, as if I was some common thief! I politely said "No thank you" and then she told me I would have to leave my very expensive Italian purse in my car if I wanted to shop there! I turned around walked out. I have never been subjected to this type of treatment in my entire life, and I used to live in New York! Assuming your well-dressed customers are shoplifters? That's a bad look. Never again. What a shame. No wonder the place was empty.

And its not even expensive items its just expensive PRICES. A $27 brush (diva brush) is $45 there!! I mean cmon. $300 boots are around $600, so really just expect everything to be double the price there. Its a quiet atmosphere though, and they do have quite the selection of breeches and show clothes, even though i didnt find a pair of breeches under $90 there lol.

So today I stumbled across the new location - much more accessible than the old location! As always, good wine selection, including a respectable assortment of Virginia wines, a fairly massive selection of craft brews (chilled and available as singles!), cigars, and of course - quite the assortment of leather equestrian gear! The place smells strongly of well oiled leather when walks in the front door - a very pleasant smell! Check out the new location!

The owners are so helpful and friendly. I went because of their deals on ThinLine saddle pads, and was so impressed with the selection! What a hidden gem! i had tried to sell some tack on marketplace and kept dealing with no shows. I put a few things on consignment there last month and have already received two payouts. Their wine selection and prices were also top notch. The owner really took the time to listen to what we liked, gave us some wine recommendations and offered a free tasting. We tasted three wines we'd never tried before and bought all three! Such a cool place and a neat concept combining wine and saddlery, I will definitely be back!

For quality horse tack, riding clothes, and stable supplies at excellent prices and good advice,…read morethis is the place to visit. My daughter is a avid rider but never had to buy anything. She is headed to horse school and needed everything. I know very little about the subject. The owner, Alice, runs a one woman operation in an old country store. Like the stores of old, she offers everything from antiques to riding tack to sharpening services to candy and cold drinks. There is no bathroom, but she can direct you to the farmer's market down the street. No dressing room, but she will diligently protect your privacy while you are hidden by a door and a large shelf. She gave good advice as she fitted my daughter for saddles, boots, and tack. If she didn't have something, she told us where to get it and how to asses it. I looked around and I know we bought quality goods for 60-80% less than the mainstream supply stores.

Those boots had to have been sold to me with the scratches on the bottom of them because I never wore them once off of carpet, and this woman was trying to convince me that I had worn them and made me feel that I was lying.
