While driving through Fort Wayne, we were itching to get a caffeine boost for our last two hours in…read morethe car to Indianapolis. We looked up all the boba shops around, not expecting to find too much in the area, when we came upon Hoshi Hoshi. As soon as we saw "Mango Sticky Rice Frappe," we knew we had to go. It's great to see a really creative boba shop in Fort Wayne, especially one that (I think) is Thai owned, which is a big departure from the mostly Vietnamese, Chinese, and Taiwanese owned shops through the US. When we first walked in on a early weekend afternoon, there were no other customers in the shop, but as we waited for our drinks, more and more people started walking in until the place was completely full. I'm glad we were at the start of the rush rather than during it! Milk Tea, 50% Sweet w/ Boba ($6.95) - Toppings are $1 each which is kind of on the expensive side. The tea is pretty good for this type of drink, mellow with perfect sweetness at 50%. The boba is a bit too soft, resulting in a disintegrating exterior that's rough and craggy. The bubbles are quite uniformly chewy throughout and resemble more of a jelly than typical tapioca balls. (3/5) Mango Sticky Rice Frappe w/ Jelly Mango ($9.95) - This drink consists of a mango and cream smoothie topped with sweet coconut infused sticky rice, diced mango, and a salty cream cheese topping. The drink is like a creamsicle leaning more towards the mango flavor instead of the cream flavor. The mango jelly sinks to the bottom of the drink, allowing you to get a piece every couple of sips. I was kind of nervous that if the rice was intermixed with the ice that it would be hard and gross, but thankfully they constructed this drink pretty well. Super delicious overall. (5/5) There was one puzzling thing - the barista asked us if we were okay with Jelly Mango in the drink and when we asked if it was included she said yes. Then she went ahead and charged an extra dollar for the topping. Either that, or the drink is not labeled corrected in the menu at $8.95. Bizarre in either case. Bathrooms: None that are customer accessible. I was really surprised by Hoshi Hoshi. I didn't expect to see this kind of place in Fort Wayne. This is a definite visit next time we are in the area.

The owner is so kind, the service friendly and efficient. The food fresh and delicious! The atmosphere simple, bright, and casual. Shared the cucumber salad to start. One can see just by the pic below how fresh it is... very crisp and refreshing. Not just cucumbers but an actual veggie salad. Husband got the Thai Basil, which never disappoints! He really enjoyed it! I have a hard time not ordering Three Best Friends, as it is SO delicious! Previous photo of this dish shows the 3 proteins (you pick them: beef, chicken, pork, seafood, tofu) of beef, shrimp, and tofu. This time , I chose chicken, shrimp, and tofu. The portion is so generous, I always share some with hubby. Once again, highly recommend! They have a very active takeout business, as well, both pick-up and delivery.

However the last two times I have ordered their Shrimp Pad Thai the flavor just wasn't there. Something was missing as it was quite bland with the exception of the "spice level". I always order it with very light spice and the last two times it has been very spicy. The first time this happened I chalked it up to an exception. The second time I consider it probably the norm. So perhaps they have changed cooks. Whatever the issue, I'm disappointed and probably won't try a third time.

I told them it was my first time here, and they helped me through the whole process. Poke Bowl with Grilled Eel - $12.95 + $3 for Extra Salmon - It's a good portion, everything was fresh, the salmon was good, and the grilled eel was divine. I've never seen eel in a poke bowl, and I just had to do it. Went with the brown rice, and it was great, especially with whatever soy sauce adjacent sauce they put on it (they recommend some sauce on the rice when you first build the bowl, and obviously go with what the pros recommend). 5/5 stars. Taro Milk Tea - $5.95 + $0.75 for boba - Well made drink. The taro was flavorful. The boba was cooked well, warm, and delicious. Iced just enough to keep it cold but not too much to where I felt like I only paid for ice. 5/5 stars. Go here, this place is fantastic! Dare I say, better than AA Poke (which isn't hard, cause sometimes AA Poke isn't so fresh).

They are very warm, friendly and welcoming. They love serving you! The shop is so relaxing. The beautiful aqua blue beach decor makes you feel like you are at the lake...just everything a relaxing meal. The chairs are big and comfortable. The shop has lots of seating for you to space and stay for a while. The poke remains outstanding. I try different combinations when I go. Jason makes his own sauces which are outstanding!! He carefully chooses and prepares the proteins so they are tender and fresh. Jason created a Moose Cake that he wanted to share. You can see the picture of the pig wearing a top hat. Jason developed the mold and flavors. Outstanding! Very smooth, creamy, slightly chilled and soft with a bit of firmness. Well done Jason!! If you love Poke....you have to get Tokyo Poke Bowl a try!!
