This is the place where my friend called "the gathering place for the most intelligent and culturally-rich minds". That's some big promise.
Located mid-way of the stairway on Shing Wong Street, it's well-hidden from the all the hips in the neighborhoods, but close enough to the hotter-than-ever PMQ. If you find it once, you'd never forget it.
Its semi-outdoors seating was unique. They have redone some of the stairs next to the shop too, so you can comfortably sit on the stairs. Or the cushion they lay on the ground, if you are here on a busy weekend waiting for your table.
The daily choices are really limited. They were so limited I gave it a pass when I didn't want any of the breakfast choices provided. Second time lucky, I was here for lunch and I chose one of the three burgers they have on the menu.
The chicken burger was very, very well made. it came with pineapple, so it had a refreshing taste. Not lettuce, not beetroot, but a bit of sweet pineapple juice mixed with the chicken whenever I took a bite. Funny the chips on the side were a bit sweet, too. If you are not a big fan of sweet, then it may be a bit too much for you.
The coffee was decent, not like I'm an expert in coffee but it's definitely on the better end even in Soho's standard. There weren't a lot of choices other than coffee, and no soda or liquors, so don't bother asking.
But what it truly amazed me, and my friend was right, was the vibe here. Everyday you will see a few people working here on their macs (thanks for the free wifi), people having meetings here, or people having interviews with local designers or bloggers. I can easily stay here for hours, chill out and not get bored. After awhile you may even forget you are in one of the busiest cities in the world. read more
