We then went to pay the rate for 4 adults, got our clubs, chose our golf balls, and we were off. There were a few people there with families on the course but we basically had the course to ourselves. It was a course with a practice spot and then 18 holes to play. It was very informative and fun. There were stands at each hole with a set of photos and historical information. Plus the actual course had slight slopes, and a few fun obstacles. After golfing we went inside the small museum. There were several artifacts and some historical information to look at and read about. On a side note they have two bathrooms with soap and running water which is a positive. Overall it was a fun afternoon on a nice day. The mini golf course is fun and informative. The museum is small and interesting. If you like history and mini golf this would be a good place to visit and play on a nice day.

She was very knowledgeable on many subjects including history of New Braunfels (NB). I have been to NB many times before, mostly for tubing the Comal or Schlitterbahn. The fact that there is a huge, free parking lot in town makes things a lot easier for getting in and out of the historic district. Can you believe this little German enclave has been around since the 19th century? So much to do here from the antique shops and boutiques to restaurants, general store, and let's not forget legendary Gruene Hall (oldest dance hall in Texas). It's a great place for locals and tourists alike. So much history and just a great way to spend a day.

The historic Gruene Hall was the main draw for me, which is mainly a place to be a spectator of live music, while having a drink or dance. McConauhaze (by Twisted X Brewing Company in Dripping Springs) is the hazy IPA that I enjoyed from the bar. I'd love to return for the evening entertainment from Sunday through Friday. Especially for swing dancing on Tuesdays, and two-step on Thursdays--both nights start with an optional dance lesson for $12. Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar is very good, but lacks vegan options. El Chingón IPA (by Four Corners Brewing in Dallas) is the Texas beer that I enjoyed here. Gruene Grove is a nice outdoor patio to take in some live music and grab a drink from the bar, but they don't let you enter or leave with your drink. I had the bartender make a "black and tan" for me by blending a stout and pale ale on tap from local breweries. I was eager to enjoy the Italian-style bratwurst from Wurst in Gruene, but they were out of the Beyond brat option. The Grapevine is a good beer and wine bar that opens to an outdoor patio with stage and live music. Sputnik Russian Imperial Coffee Oatmeal Stout (by Austin Beerworks) is the draft beer that I enjoyed here. It was nice to be able to walk around freely with it (which I even took with me into Gruene Hall). Hunter Road is full of unique shops to buy apparel, souvenirs, edibles, drinks, and other boutique specialties. The names of small businesses get carried away with a play on words, using the fact that Gruene is pronounced "green." Examples include The Gruene Haus, The Gruene Olive Tasting Room, Gruene with Envy, Red & Gruene Holiday Shop, and The Gruene Door. Other silly names include Tipsy Gypsy and Fickle Pickles. I saw Raped Clarity at the Gemini and was fairly impressed with the space and how they use it. When…read moreyou first enter, you arrive at a very professional ticket and snack counter, and paintings and photographs by a local artist adorn the walls. I enjoyed a nice Malbec while surveying the works, which seemed to exemplify a simple, contemporary style infused with elements of pop culture - such as you would find in greeting cards and cartoons. Some of them were quite clever, and even the photographs somehow speak to the modern style and popular ambitions of this theatre's proprietor. Despite my fine first impression, there were quite a few problems. Seating is unfortunately folding, metal chairs - but at least they were the padded kind. The stage itself was quite good - raised a foot or so above the floor, with adequate space and entrance portals, and decent sound - but the lighting was barely adequate and could not possibly be useful in most, true theatrical productions. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of Raped Clarity was marred by the lack of quality lighting. Finally, the script itself has problems, with incongruities that tend to distract one's attention as the action unfolds. Glaring examples include an inconsistent, unprofessional, and even unethical psychologist character. If this were a minor, peripheral character, perhaps the problem would not exist or it might be insignificant, but this is a central character that helps drive the action throughout the heroine's journey. Some minor problems with props may have simply been mistakes during the particular performance I attended, and these might not necessarily be blocking and choreography errors. The dialogue, in general, is problematic, with some vocabulary and word choices that seem inconsistent with the characters who deliver them and the situations in which they are delivered. By far the best performance in this production was that of the heroine's father, an archetypal southern working man and alcoholic. This character functioned as both an anti-hero and comic relief, and was oddly endearing. The heroine's mother was also a good performance, and contributed some fine, comic moments, but the character was fraught with some of the aforementioned dialogue problems. Raped Clarity is a work in progress and may very well be autobiographical, representing the author's sorting out of her own psyche after experiencing rape. I find, in fact, that the only way that I can reconcile the various characters and situations of this play is to consider them as symbolical. Indeed, I conclude that each character and situation represents an aspect of the heroine's - and perhaps the author's - own mind as she works toward recovery after a violent rape. This is the only way Raped Clarity makes any sense to me.

Ken was so easy to work with and helped us get everything set up exactly how we wanted it. My mom handled the bar with some upgrades and we were able to get some additions that everyone enjoyed. The day-of duo of Penjo and Madison were so amazing. They kept me calm and mostly stress free. I say mostly because the stress was not from them and from my family which they can't control haha. But they were always checking on me and making sure everything was going smoothly. Literally the dream team. We had the in house decor team set up and by golly was it beautiful. I was a little worried because I didn't get to see everything until we checked in on the day of, but again, everything exceeded all expectations. We had the in house DJ, Colby. What a great human honestly. Vibes were so high all night, I don't think there was a single second that the dance floor wasn't poppin. He also was in charge of the Photo Booth that was ALSO poppin all night lol. We had an open bar as well and the bartender and team were we quick and accommodating! Also friendly AF! What fun we all had. The tour is less than 2 miles of a walk on a very slow leisurely pace. The guides will provide highlights and answer any questions along the way. Go online and reserve your space. Tickets sell out way ahead of time. This is because so many local schools bring students here for tours. You will be amazed to learn, not only geological structures, but also the effects of mother nature and the dam break that created the gorge a few years back. We left appreciating the forces of mother nature and the army corp of engineers even more. Don't be surprised to see fault lines, and dinosaur tracks, as well as, and beautiful views at every turn.
