Right at Home sees dollar signs. That blocks their listening ability. So they make empty promises,…read moreand blame the client. I have Asperger's (autism) and we all told them what my needs were. They frequently dropped the ball, left me completely alone. I'm a recent amputee, and often have pain, and need shopping, cooking, and someone who KNOWS ABOUT MY AUTISM, and doesn't get offended!!! They get offended every time I call or write to tell them how they're breaking their word!!!! They don't like to hear the truth!!! They kept sending me UNQUALIFIED PPL, who couldn't cook, and got offended!!! They WARN PEOPLE ABOUT ME, instead of PREPARING THEM FOR ME!!! And they refused to accept responsibility for my companion cats, something I have a PRESCRIPTION FOR, and say "we don't do pets!" They aren't "pets," they help me stay calm!! They finally got me a pretty good team, but the one person, Sharon, who refuses to learn about autism, complains enough for everybody, and instead of getting her a client she likes, they keep her here to spy, so they can convince the owner I'm not worth the money!!! So he did their bidding, and cancelled my contract!!! They're giving up nearly $250,000/year, because the office lied to me, and now regrets it.

Right at Home has not fullfilled their mission, "To improve the quality of life for those we…read moreserve." In one month and a half, my father has had more than 12 caregivers come to our home because the caregivers quit the day they were supposed to take care of my father (after only taking care of him a couple of days). They arrived late and didn't make up for the time. This has caused my father and me a great deal of stress. I never know who is going to go into my house for a day or two and then disappear. My father starts to trust a caregiver then they quit. Also most of the caregivers don't know how to do light housekeeping and basic cooking. Right at Home charges $30 an hour. For that amount, I expect my father's bedroom, bathroom and clothes to be clean and not smelling of urine. Most don't know how to fold a bed properly. Make nutritious meals for my father. He has lost weight because of this. When I have called to speak to the staffing coordinators about my concerns, they have simply told me to look for another organization if we are not happy. I do not recommend this company at all.

I can't say enough good things about Caring Heart Health & Home. I did a lot of research into home…read morecare companies around Portland to find a good company to care for my folks. Caring Heart had such great reviews on so many home care review sites, as well as several best of home care awards and A+ accreditation, and now I see why. They have been fantastic in every way for my family. The company is small enough that the management, nursing and caretaker team work together, are cohesive and informed of what's going on with my folks, and keep us informed when needed. They are accommodating, very responsive, easy to reach and work with, and deeply care about their clients. It really shows. My folks aren't easy to please, but they really like their caregivers, because Caring Heart does a great job of choosing caregivers who have compatibility with them, and who truly enjoy being caregivers and it's their career - not a side job or temporary contract. Even better, we will have the same caregivers for as long as we need them, which is so reassuring and makes it so much easier on our family and gives us great peace of mind. I've learned in this process that what really matters, is the quality, consistency and genuine caring of the caregivers and the management team, and Caring Heart has that heart. They are dedicated to providing the best care with the same caregivers week to week, who are very reliable. Even better, they are run by nurses, and the Dir of Nursing has been intimately involved in assessing what my step dad needed for care when he came home from the hospital, helped us get prepared for him, and oversees their caregivers. She was fantastic, when he was resistant to the help at first, both with him and with me and my sister. I so appreciate the way this company communicates with their staff and with us. I am also impressed that most of their caregivers, who are all employees, have worked there for many years, some more than 10 years. We are incredibly lucky to have them take care of our folks, and I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Circle of Care did an excellent job in evaluating all the levels of care and needed level of care as life continued to change. Trustworthy, kind and professional. I knew my parents had the best care we could give them. From bathing to eating to doctor's appointments, they handled it. We also didn't have to worry about any type of abuse which is a huge concern in this industry. I highly recommend Cynthia and the entire team, at Circle of Care.

Circle of Care provided a caretaker for approximately eight hours a week to provide relief for the full time caretaker hired through different agency. For reasons beyond anyone's control, the relief caretaker wasn't able to sustain her commitment. Circle of Care was determined and aggressive in finding a replacement to avoid any lapse in care. Most importantly, Cynthia, the CEO at Circle of Care, demonstrated kindness, empathy, and dedication. She was always accessible and responsive to questions or concerns. Shannon, as the COO, clearly explained administrative details, which included the all-important question of fees, etc. My mother passed away after five months of in-home care, and while I don't anticipate needing similar service anytime soon, I would definitely recommend Circle of Care to others.
