Visiting Angels helps care for my brother in Sandy. As a Veteran we are blessed to have hours allocated by the VA to hire Visiting Angels. His level of disability requires skilled care. As a former care giver and health advocate for my parents I'm experienced with Elder care. Visiting Angels are professional with high standards delivered consistently. The onboarding with the Case Manager was comprehensive and we couldn't be more pleased with the level of compassionate care. An hour before we were supposed to have our initial meeting, we received a "something came up and we need to cancel" text message. Then they told us to call in and reschedule with their case manager. I am glad that they showed us how irresponsible they were BEFORE we were relying upon them to take care of our elderly mother. Four years ago my mother was returning home after heart surgery and months of skill nursing rehabilitation. At 87, I honestly didn't know if she'd be able to return to her own home and resume her independent living. If so, I was pretty sure it would take some additional assistance. A close friend gave me a heartfelt endorsement of Gresham Visiting Angels, based upon the care and assistance provided to his mother and father. Upon phoning the office and describing the situation, an appointment was scheduled to meet my mother and me at the skilled nursing facility and get to know her and what we were expecting to need from the Angels. We discussed options and created a care plan. Once my mom was discharged and back home, the Angel's service began. The first Angel was not a good fit, and upon contacting the office that first day, another Angel was assigned. My mom has had her same pair of Angels for the past 4-years. They get her morning started each day and have allowed her to live in her home, now at 91. She has formed strong relationships with each of her two Angels. I'm so grateful to have learned about them from my friend. I have found the team in the office to be extremely responsive. There have been a couple occasions when I have spoken with each of the owners and have found them to be caring, honest, polite and professional. There is always someone to answer phone calls whether it is one of their staff or answering service. - Excellent communication. The staff notifies me well ahead of schedule if the caregiver is unable to make the shift or is going to be late. I am asked if I need a replacement and if they are able to provide one. - Excellent follow up on issues reported by caregiver(s) and offers resolution. -The owner, Monica is client-oriented, friendly, and is genuinely concerned that we are satisfied with the care provided. Supports our needs and listens to our concerns. - Very thorough supervisory visit, reviewed current care plan and made necessary revisions/additions. Provided guidelines and expectations of their caregivers and asked if such are being met. - Caregivers are very supportive and easy to work with. - Billing statements come regularly and are clear and accurate. read more

I am going to write a terrible review. I am very unsatisfied with the help that was sent to my house. They were unexperienced. And a waste of my time and money. It actually cost me more to recover the damage a worker caused. No one has been in contact with me since. The staff is nice but if you have a complaint forget it I did talk to Rob and told him what the problems were and he asked me what he could do to make things right. I told him and he said he'd get back to me but I've not heard anything since our phone call a week ago. read more

Again. I am jammed up by circumstances! O.B.E. Overcome Be Events. I am a gentleman, so I will spare you the gory details. Suffice to say, I am suddenly, not totally unexpectedly, but suddenly quite alone. I'm the patient to be clear. Visiting Angels has never sent me an Unsatisfactory (Caregiver). Visiting Angels has never even sent me a questionable character. I think I've been with them near three years, and I am very very happy For all services provided. I've had caregivers from at least three different agencies, in two states and have had some folks in my house that should have been in jail. One in Colorado stole my diamond wedding ring, my wallet, and my identity! Back to today. i've never had an unpleasant angel in my home. They haven't stolen from me or been disrespectful and they've all made their shifts on time. I've never had an unqualified angel or one I even had a slight question about. I've had nothing but wonderful people that cared about caring for people. Monica has never let me down. So now, As I look at my future with a gaping hole in my life I know Visiting Angels will be there for me when I need them. Always supportive, qualified and kind. I am picky. No smokers, no drunks, driving record etc. And always punctual! These people have suffered with me yet have been sympathetic and helpful I just can't say enough good things about this agency! STAY AWAY! We signed up to have someone help our mother and here's what we got: 1. The person did not have the skills I explained, at nauseum, that we wanted. 2. We gave our deposit check on Wednesday and discontinued services on Friday. 3. We are now almost 2 months out from canceling and have yet to receive our refund or a return call. My calls go unreturned, I have once spoken with someone who assured me that she would make sure this was taken care of. She was very nice but here we are another 3 weeks since our talk & nothing! We used Visiting Angels to help with my mother in law. She was placed on hospice and we realized we needed help.... yesterday! They came out right away and opened our case and got the ball rolling. We had great caregivers. I'm not going to lie there were caregivers that were not a good fit for my mother in law but that is to be expected. Anyone who thinks they sign up for care and every caregiver that walks through the door is the prefect person has never dealt with the public or outside care. I can say everyone was polite and cheerful. My phone calls were answered in a timely manor. My concerns were addressed right away. I appreciated their honesty when it came to a shift that might not be able to be covered. They gave me plenty of notice if they were having difficulties so I could make arrangements or change the hours of service I needed if that would help. We had two individuals from Visiting Angels who did a creditable job caring for my dying father. The agency itself is dreadful. Poorly administered, provides no training, no screening, shockingly devoid of communication. Our caregivers had no idea we had a "case manager" (we didn't know this either until a month into it), or that we would be evaluating them. I will be writing a short story about the one "Angel" who we refer to as "Crazypants" and we fired before she'd been in the house for two hours. DO NOT USE! read more

Visiting Angels (Gresham, OR) is WONDERFUL. I have used their services for my parents for seven years. Beginning in 2009, my father's health was in decline and he needed more help than my mother could provide. Visiting Angels helped us with everything we needed. After he passed in 2010, my mother's health deteriorated immediately and they were right there with me every step of the way. I live an hour away and work full time, so dealing with the constant issues that pop up with an elderly person in declining health could be hard to deal with, but the administrators and caregivers of Visiting Angels were always there to help, they went above and beyond, and were always willing to think outside of the box to figure out how to remedy whatever situation arose. I moved my mother into a nursing home last week and a piece of me is sad to see my relationship with Visiting Angels end. After all this time they have become like family to me, a resource I could depend on when I frequently felt there was nobody else. Thank you, thank you to Monica, Jody, Kathie, Judy, and all the caregivers. You guys are THE ABSOLUTE BEST! read more
