Breakfast area with coffee machines, bagels and waffle machines. Free breakfast is good for the kiddies.

Came here only because of the pet friendly policy. Checking in they hd the 3 rooms we requested all on the same floor. 2 of the 3 rooms were inspected, one of the rooms had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, had to go downstairs to speak to front desk agent. The front desk agent was very nice and polite he immediately helped us out to get find another non smoking room on the same floor. When we settled in we came to find out there is no ice machine or vending machines on 2nd floor??? Weird because I had to make a trip to the 1st floor to the vending area to get ice from my room in 225 on 2nd floor??? The kids did enjoy the pool even though it was a small pool but good enough just for splash. I have to be honest, my choice would have not been this comfort inn but our friends have a small dog they travel with, so this is why we stayed here for 1 night only. The bed in our room was a king, large bed but not very comfortable, highway noise is pretty loud even when our room was facing the side parking lot which seemed empty but we could hear all the noise from the trucks all night long. Pillows were very flat and offered no support. While the room was very clean and priced at $95. I dont think i would stay here again. I normally stay at a Marriott courtyard as they are my choice for overnight stays. For families you also get a free breakfast which opens 630am to 930am. You can get waffles, bagels and individually packaged pastries. This is good for the kiddies. Although the room is small it can get packed real quick. We had to ask for coffee to be made at the front desk, since the person at the front desk oversees the breakfast area clean up and maintenance.

An absolutely discussing hotel. Had to change 4 different rooms to find one acceptably clean. Initial rooms were either not vacuumed or sheets not changed. Owner offered refunded discount but did not get one. Pool!?! Sewer. Definitely not as advertised. Pics are from 3 different rooms.

Not going to lie, wasn't sure what to expect when I booked a one night stay here after reading the reviews. Visited the Catskills so this place was ideal since it was near the highway and the mountains. This place must have been recently renovated because everything looked new and bright including the pool. Room and bathroom were clean and pool had ample towels. Breakfast was as you would expect with any continental breakfast, no complaints there, I enjoyed my meal. Didn't have a problem with customer service, check in was quick. My only complaint was the wifi, it was spotty and slow but we ended up using the computer in the lobby. Would stay here again if I do another overnight trip to the Catskills.

Here is the low down. Rates are decent, as the rundown HoJo is cheaper, and the new Holiday Inn is more. However do not plan on the extras. Pool in the morning is so full of chemicals the room is like entering a bleach filled sauna, i wouldn't dare even give it a try later in the day because once the chlorine dissipates I would doubt anyone keeps up with it during the day. Housekeeping is fair, they make the bed replace towels, but do not do much more, sink was dirty when I arrived and in need of soap (which was not refilled the next day. Breakfast was a JOKE! Out of almost everything. All the tables were in need of being wiped. What they did have was very scarce, just 3 packs of oatmeal! When I asked for peanut butter they said "sorry we do not have any, so we doubled up on the jelly." When I walked past the front desk I said that the breakfast was pathetic, to which the desk clerk said "I know". Also forgot to add that the internet is iffy. Sometimes it works, other times it just is so slow you'll give up.

My suspicion is that they are getting by on the tourist trade. We went for brunch arrived about 1:00 waited over an hour for our food. The restaurant was not crowded - three other tables of guests. We asked our waiter when we could expect our lunch. He went and checked on it - came back in about 10 minutes with our food. Everyone's food was cold. Two of us ordered the shrimp and grits- our shrimp was practically raw. We had to send it back 3 times to have it cooked. Another person in our party had the Eggs Benedict with the salmon. They were sick after eating that. When we told the manager she took one of the shrimp dishes off the bill. No apologies nothing else was done to adjust the bill. Very disappointed- We called the restaurant the next business day and nothing else was offered. That will be our last trip to the restaurant. Don't waste yiur time or money. I liked waking up early, getting a quick bite from their continental breakfast in the lobby, and then heading down to their wooden walkway to get closer to the waterfall under the bridge. The walls are kinda thin and the restaurant is very meh but overall a great relaxing experience. I remember finding this place online and being happy that I could save a few bucks, and still be close to Woodstock, and yet... they had this giganto-enormous bath tub that my wife and kid would love. The owners are nice, and I feel this is sort of a side gig for them. It feels kind of like a VRBO in that you don't need to see people at a reception desk every time you return to the Inn... you just park in the quiet parking lot out back, and do your thing. We had room # 3 on both visits, so that's really all I can speak to. The owners are responsive to emails, and kindly stock the mini-refrigerator with Poland Spring water. It has a kitchenette along with a little living area (including a sleeper sofa), and then a private bedroom along with the massive bathroom. I think my favorite part is the bathroom. Too bad you can't sleep in there. At least, that wouldn't be safe! We share the King bed, me, my wife, and daughter. It's not very comfortable, so I didn't sleep well. I requested a strong a/c, and I think we got that, though it's cold outside still, and the place isn't very energy efficient. There's actually a little balcony door along the side wall, and you can see the wind outside blowing the curtains sometimes. I don't think the place is thoroughly cleaned, but the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom are definitely clean enough. We didn't feel uncomfortable. What's nice about this place though is the location. So I booked one night using my voucher and upgraded to a King using my platinum status, another IHG credit card perk. The hotel lobby is clean and the entire hotel was recently renovated. The room was clean, uncluttered and renovated. The pool, (4) on the small side, is open from 9 am to 9 pm max depth is 4'1" with a machine for individuals using a wheelchair. I swam a few laps and would try again in the morning after it has been cleaned. They offer free parking, free breakfast and coin operated guest laundry. They had egg omelettes, pork sausage, home fried potatoes, breads, yogurt, cereal and hot coffee/tea. The food was a 3.5 and the coffee, a medium blend (extra points for oat milk!) was very good, a 4. I opted for IHG points as my Platinum member amenity, the other choice being bottled water. All in all, a good stay. I'll stay on site at the tennis camp next time but would also consider staying here and driving over for my tennis lessons especially in Winter when hotel prices drop. The design is a tribute to the mid 20th century. Art objects usually found and bought at vintage flea markets such as Brimfield can be found throughout the hotel. I like mid 20th century design very much but I do not find in very comforting. The hotel is a bit like a museum. Look but perhaps do not touch. For sure do not sit! Either way it is a very enjoyable place to spend some time. It is an old building but it is well maintained. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. The restaurant which sweeps thru the entire ground floor and outside porch is very good. The food and wine is excellent. The coffee hut towards the back of the property is a great idea. My time came to rough it in the woods because I don't do camping. Dominicans don't do camping. Period! But hubby's a Nuyorican and he loves all this stuff. In a Yurt? Well...That's the question I got when I told folks where I was staying for the weekend. But...it's a give and take and all in the name of love. Right? Caryn & Mark own Awakening Garden grounds. There's a Yurt, 2 Cabins, a Tepee and a Buddha Hut to choose from. (Call or check website for prices). Pitching a tent was definitely out of the question. Now you're asking......what the heck is a Yurt? Well Google says its a, "circular tent"- and that's precisely what it is- but bigger. Our Yurt, has no bathroom- but the 'Bathhouse' is literally 5 steps away (and no...it's not a latrine- by the way). It doubles (or triples) as a small kitchenette with a small fridge, sink and 2-burner hot plate, a full bathroom with a shower, 'Dining Area' and a gorgeous carpeted nook if you want to do Yoga (perfect). Yurt rental for us (at this time of year was $370 ($135 for each of the first two nights and $100 for the third night) plus $30 cleaning fee. It's super comfortable with a Queen-size bed, but there's extra room within the Yurt that could easily sleep at least 2 more people (please double check with the owners first for a payment scale and/or if more people are allowed before you bring your posse). Coming at this time in the Fall was perfect and we didn't need to worry about freezing up here. The Yurt has 2 portable heaters and kept us super toasty for this time of the year. Plus there's a potbelly stove as an added measure. Additionally, there's a baseboard heater in the "Bathhouse". Don't want to pitch a tent? Or do the Hut or cabin stay? But you still want to get that outdoorsy, woodsy feel? Then staying in a Yurt is your best bet to give you a bit of both worlds. Oh by the way...it's just you and Nature at it's finest because there's no TV. And WiFi? If you're lucky- because it comes and goes! Didn't realize how much more I'd appreciate Nature and sleeping in a Yurt made me feel like I was right in the thick of it- which we were. This is totally off the spectrum for me compared to my new fave and up-to-trend hotel- The Emerson- but we wanted to switch things up. I'm really not taking points off because there isn't a TV. Or because we had to walk 5 little steps out of our Yurt and into a Bathhouse. Or because there wasn't a thermostat to regulate the heater. All I kept saying to myself was- 'things could be a lot f*cking worse in the woods'. This Yurt is up to standards and met me in many ways for it being in the woods. 4+1/2!
