Crooked. I reserved 3 nights at Quality inn for October 2025. I called corporate office listed on transaction to cancel entire stay on May 14, 2025. Quality Inn billed my credit card for $150.60 on October 8. I called corporate office again and they said they could not fix the problem, but the hotel would be able to credit their error. I called Quality Inn manager who said to call corporate as they couldn't credit the error. My friends stayed there and had to leave because they had roaches in their room, filthy sheets, and poor service. read more

Comfort Inn = Quality Inn. Look for the Quality Inn sign! This threw me for a loop for a second. Hotel is up on a hill in Big Stone Gap. Lovely views and there is a Huddle House next door. Very sweet and clean county town hotel. Woodsy and outdoors themed. Staff is warm and welcoming. Best part is there was an friendly outdoor cat. 10/10 would recommend, but the cat just made it even better. read more

So clean, beautiful place. Lobby is great, I wish I had taken a picture of it. Microwave, fridge, tv and tv remote, and all the appliances work. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst hotel stay I ever had. The place smells like smoke, and the walls are so thin. I was up all night dealing with the loud noise from the plumbing and the guest upstairs walking! I hate it here! For the 175 per night I'm miserable. An oasis in the middle of nowhere... lol, no disrespect intended as this is a beautiful area!!! My experience was spot on. I had been working in Norton over the weekend, @36 hrs straight and needed a nap so I called the Comfort Inn in Big Stone Gap and they said they had a room ready for me... mind you, it was 9:30 AM!!! Very pleasant folks... went to the room, clean and no smoking... heck, I smoke and can't stand a smoking room (smoke outside when I'm home as well) and woke up 5 hrs to head back to work. A Just Right Goldilocks home away from home, warm, inviting....Clean...Comfort...Consistent. Southern Hospitality is abundant. The gazebos are a great place to take in the beauty of this area. Breakfast was hot and delicious, the mountain-inspired lobby and furnishings were so welcoming, the staircase makes you feel very regal coming down each day. View of the mountains is beautiful. The pool was very nice. Kudos to every person we encountered. In a time when supply chain issues can make it difficult to serve guests, the business makes no excuses but makes adjustments and adapts to provide excellence to all. A diamond in the rough! I wish I had known this hotel was here years ago. Visiting family in Pennington Gap last week so we stayed here as the hotels in Pennington Gap are scary to say the least. Everything was perfect! Good breakfast serving biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, yogurts, cereals, bagels, muffins, donuts, oatmeal, boiled eggs, and waffles. Very friendly staff, nice salt water pool which was very clean. My ONLY suggestion is to get the carpets in the room shampooed as our feet was black from walking around in our room barefoot. read more

Stayed 4 nights here and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Stan checked me in the evening I arrived and was wonderful, suggesting places to eat and things to see. He went above and beyond to help me with a work issue, which I really appreciated. The rooms were clean and even though the hotel was quite busy with tourists and with a little league team staying there, it wasn't loud or noisy. Visitors were friendly and talking to each other in the breakfast room in the afternoon and evenings. Just a great friendly town all around, I will definitely stay again. read more

Never again. I am a native of BSG, and have used this place a hundred times. Each of my last two stays--three days apiece--have been beyond horrid, for one reason only, poor management. The staff is otherwise excellent. In fact, during my stay two years ago I was expressing my appreciation for the few workers who were doing everything--setting up breakfast, folding laundry, doing laundry, cleaning rooms, cleaning common areas--when the manager yelled at me for speaking to her staff. I do not use the word 'yelled' lightly, because that's precisely what she did. Foolishly, I signed up to stay there again this year, June 8-10. While enroute to the motel on 8 June, I was hit hard by chills and high fever. That day I was admitted to a hospital for four days, so I never reached my destination. The manager refused to reimburse me; I would have been satisfied with reimbursement of two days only, but the oily-mouthed manager said 'No, honey, that's not how we do things.' I was a Choice Privileges member. From this point forward, I will do my best to avoid every hotel in the chain. dmv read more

The hotel is very nice and spacious. Rooms are also spacious and clean! The hotel made special accommodations to allow my wife and I to check in early as we drove from Indiana so we are grateful for that! The real star was the gentleman working the evening shift on Saturday 3/2/22. We experienced issues in the evening as far as guests above us being very loud until 10-11pm as well as other people that were using the pool were being very rude and inconsiderate splashing at my 9 month old daughter and bumping into her while we was moving her around in her floatie. read more

I have traveled to VA 3x this year and each time I stood at the Comfort Inn it was amazing!! My latest stay here was just this past weekend. Such great hospitality. The hotel is so clean and welcoming, I love it!! This is definitely the best hotel I have ever stayed in, the beds here are more comfortable than mine at home. They have upgraded the WIFI service so it works perfectly now. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the manager Wesley, made my stay this past weekend the most amazing!! He surprised me with an upgrade on my room, so I got to relax each night in a warm Jacuzzi. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Definitely 5 star in my book and highly recommended. read more

This hotel has very welcoming and friendly staff. I had no problems with our housekeeping, our room was always fully serviced. For breakfast they have biscuits and gravy, scramble eggs, yogurt, cereals, instant oatmeal packs, juice dispenser, waffle maker, sausages, fresh fruit like apples, milk, and other items. In the hotel lobby they had a coffee and hot apple cider available 24 hours. I didn't have to use the coffee maker in my room because I just walked over to the lobby at whatever time. I had booked a room here several months ago through Hotels.com. I stated in writing that we traveled with Service dogs, and the reservation was confirmed. A week before our travel, I called ahead to double check so there was clarity before arrival. I was questioned about our Disabilities, which I answered in spite of the fact that law does not require me to do so. Since we are not blind, deaf or need the dogs for mobility issues, we were rejected. I did cancel the reservation, and found more compliant and welcoming accommodations elsewhere. read more

My wife and I were just on our honeymoon and decided to stay at this place. From the beginning we were lied to about our own reservation and after they did us so wrong then gave us a 10% discount on our entire stay. After leaving the hotel the housekeeping staff were supposed to only vacuum the floor and leave the room but instead they went through my wife's purse and the drawers and got into our prescription meds and took from both of ours. As nice as I possibly could I went to report it to the woman at the front desk whom acted like she generally cared. I didn't want to file a police report over two of our doses each so I just told them and she wouldn't tell me who their supervisor was or review the cameras to see who it was which okay I guess I understand but still I just felt like they should do something. As me, my wife, and our two children walked out, we were stopped by the same lady who then proceeded to accuse us of stealing their towels and wanted my wife to get the diaper bag out to pull the towels out so she did and the lady saw that the only towel we had was the one we brought from home for our child that looked nothing like the ones from choice hotels. She didn't apologize and my wife tried to still be nice but I had enough so I took our kids and our remaining belongings and packed them into our car and went to pull my money off of my own card for fear of this woman overcharging me for literally nothing. We had the presidential suite the entire time we were there and still yet we were treated like trash. So please if you're making the choice to stay somewhere then don't stay here and if you do then make sure you keep cameras rolling or at the ready and your valuables in a lockbox. Also the patience to deal with such rudeness after being so polite to everyone couldn't hurt. read more

When traveling in this area this is the very best place to stay. Myself and my family have been there many times and it is always welcoming and safe. We last were there on September 17, 2015 for two nights, the room was clean, check in and check out was easy and the breakfast was very well laid out and well stocked.
