There isn't really a decent restaurant for 20+miles so this lack of dining leaves a lot to be desired. Simple coffee machines in the rooms would be huge. While attempting to eat at the restaurant, I was asked to move my table twice, and then was told they were out of what I ordered. Locals seem to get preference over guests at the hotel. The entire operation is poorly run, and lacks basics. Either do it right or shut it down.

The staffs were warm and welcoming. The food was also delicious. I especially remember the spinach dip and the cobbler. Both were excellent and one of the best I've had. The hotel staff called us a couple of times to verify our arrival time to make sure they had our room ready and security would be there to let us in (we felt oh so important). We started up the mountain and after a little way up we stopped to check in with security, a super nice guy who just had us fill out our paperwork and let us know our room would be open for us. We continued up the mountain but stopped frequently to take in the amazing views the altitude allowed. There are lots of spots to stop and sit or stand in awe of the beauty surrounding you. The Sasquatch cut out hidden in the woods was a bonus too! The room was just as amazing as the view. It felt like a little home and the bed was delightfully cozy. Our fridge had some beverages in it to enjoy during our stay as well which I really appreciated! The soaking tub was magnificent and the balcony is magical. We spent the majority of our time sitting on the balcony with some wine and enjoying the most amazing view of the valley below, it was our favorite part of the trip. The only downside was that the restaurant wasn't open during the year we went and there wasn't anything real close by to grab a quick bite. Ultimately we decided we enjoyed the room so much we didn't want to leave to find something to eat and just enjoyed the snacks we brought with us. All in all this place is amazing. I couldn't believe we were the first visitors because the view from this mountain is incredible. I hope they get their restaurant back up and running because I would love to return.

Quality Inn billed my credit card for $150.60 on October 8. I called corporate office again and they said they could not fix the problem, but the hotel would be able to credit their error. I called Quality Inn manager who said to call corporate as they couldn't credit the error. My friends stayed there and had to leave because they had roaches in their room, filthy sheets, and poor service.

We appreciated the hotel providing the first floor for my disabled wife. We did NOT appreciate the 7am construction RIGHT outside our window and RIGHT in the blocked EV charging lot. I chose this hotel and paid extra specifically because there was an EV charger. This place only has two, and blocking one is not cool. Starting construction outside my room while I have a disability that doesn't handle that isn't cool (that's not cool at ANY hotel). The digger was also perilously close to my car. A minor complaint - there were supposed to be two water bottle in our room. There weren't. The room was SIXTY degrees. I have brand loyalty to a fault. Once you piss me off, I have no reason to trust you again. You pissed me off. And at twice the price. Oh Hampton Inn...I remember paying extra for you twenty years ago and feeling good about it. Not ever. Not ever again. I can't say this forcefully enough. I stay in a lot of hotels, and I like to support companies that do well. You have left this support. While I appreciate accommodating my wife's disability by putting us in the first floor, my own disability (and probably every other human) can't tolerate construction sounds at 7am just outside their windows. I'm embarrassed for this hotel. Gross. My family and I will use our money more selectively in the future.

My family owns land in the middle of nowhere in Virginia. My aging grandparents wanted to take a…read moretrip to see the land and reminisce on their earlier years in the area. When I say middle of nowhere, I mean it... there were no Airbnb's in the area and the only hotel in the area (30 minutes away) was the Convenient Inn. For being in such a charming little town, this hotel was... well, it was less charming. Immediately upon entering, I noticed the tear in the wallpaper on the wall in front of me and the table lamp that looked like it had been all but shredded before being pieced back together. There was a red stain on the side of the bed. We immediately checked for bed bugs (there were none). There were handprints on the wall in the bathroom, chords hanging from an old smoke detector in the room, and cobwebs in the shower... phew, this room was not my favorite. Even worse than my staying here, I felt awful that my grandparents had to stay here. A little work in these rooms could go a long way to make guests feel more comfortable. If you're able, I'd recommend you keep driving for another hour and find nicer accommodations.
