I won't go back to this place again. The place is very commercialized and makes me feel they care about making money more than their patients. I was recommended by a friend to come here. They charged me 200 dollars 'deposit' (I will explain this later) in the first minute I entered into the office. I only need a cleaning of my teeth but then the dentist advertised me to buy their very expensive automatic toothbrush ($150 dollars) which is not covered by my dental insurance. When they gave me the evaluation of the teeth cleaning fee, I was surprised to find that I need to pay more than 1000 dollars for a deep cleaning even my insurance company told me they would mostly cover 90%. So I checked the fee evaluation form very careful and found that they include many things not covered by my insurance such as oral cancer diagnosis which I never requested. So I told them no way I am going to accept a deep cleaning like this. Therefore, immediately they gave me another fee evaluation form which is more reasonable but still include some antibiotics that not covered by my insurance. I had deep cleaning before in another place but I didn't get charged by antibiotics that is more than 100 dollars. Anyway, I didn't want to waste time to find another dental place at michigan so I accepted what they gave to me. Two days before my appointment I found it's difficult for me to make that appoitment, so I called them and asked for a rescheduling. The cashier was telling me that if I reschedule then I would lose my $200 deposit. In order to keep my 200 dollars, I postponed other things aside and made this appointment happen. The teeth cleaning process was very painful. As I said I had deep cleaning before but it was not as painful as like this. After I finished deep cleaning, I wanted my deposit back. Instead the cashier immediately responded the deposit is not back. Why? Because they keep my deposit as a copay. I am very uncomfortable with the way they charged me before I receive any service and misleadingly told me that it's a 'deposit'. I just learned my lesson that what they called deposit is not a deposit but that they keep your money before you ask any service, before they do any work for you. So if you have to get your teeth cleaned, you HAVE to let Ashley do it. She's as skilled as she is beautiful and really takes the pain out of geting your teeth cleaned. I generally have nice teeth. Even the dentist complements me on them however i dont always floss as i should. As you all know, no flossing (or as i found out using the convenient plastic picks) makes your trip to the dentist unpleasant. For starters, my teeth are tight ( used to have braces) so that metal instrument gets stuck sometimes which is annoying. Plus, there is that HORRIBLE scraping that they do that sounds like nails against the chalk board. Ashley cleans your teeth from YOUR perspective. She's well aware each time of the things that irritate me and actually REMEMBERS. It's not that she can avoid them BUT she talks me through it etc. So yes SHE BABIES ME!!!LOLOLOL Seriously, if you hate the dentist and stay away because its a miserable experience. Even if you're one of those people who "only want a cleaning" ( thats fighting words to a dentist BTW) let Ashley do your teeth. She made mine look like i've never had red wine or coffee EVER and NO i did not have them bleached. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because i think that dentistry is overpriced in general. Really? after insurance... $300.00 for a fricken crown? I know that the material itself is most likely pretty expensive but WHATEVER! I hate paying LOL. Great atmosphere. I have been regularly visiting Comfort Dental over a year now and each time I have seen Dr. Dan, who has ALWAYS been very informative, kind and provides service with a smile on his face. Unfortunately, I had quite the opposite experience yesterday as I was seen by Dr. John who did not smile not once during the visit and was extremely unpleasant. Keep in mind, this was my very first time ever being treated by him. Dr. John immediately pointed out everything that was wrong with my teeth. You would think I have a mouth full of broken teeth, cavities and gum disease (no offense to anyone who does) but all I had was some puffiness from not regularly flossing. He made comments of "Nobody wants to floss anymore" and "How old are you??" as if my teeth were in a terrible condition for me to be so young. After using one of the instruments he carelessly dropped it on my chest. I awkwardly picked it up and held it until the hygienist offered to hold on to it. I have never been treated like this before. There's much more that I can say regarding the visit but to in short, I felt unwelcome, embarrassed and everything but comforted at my appointment yesterday. The way that I was treated yesterday should not go unnoticed and I hope that no one else ever receives that same treatment. A 5-star rating would be given to every other visit that I've had besides this most recent one. If providing that kind of treatment to patients is considered acceptable, I will be taking my time and exceptional benefits somewhere else. read more

Extremely disappointed in Comfort Dental . I made an appointment and they wouldn't see me because they claimed that I didn't confirm the appointment. I am a professional and once an appointment is made it should be honored. They have a policy in place that clients have to pay if an appointment is missed so why would you have to confirm an already set appointment. Comfort dental has been my family dentist for as long as i can remember. I have a chipped tooth. It was chipped about 9 years ago in highschool. I got a filling immediatly after it was chipped the 1st time, and that filling stayed in from 2005 to 2013 despite severe teeth grinding at night. One morning i woke up and the filling was gone, my tooth was again chipped. I was uninsured at the time, so i purchased insurance and went to comfort dental I specifically asked the receptionist if this procedure would be covered by my insurance, and she said yes your copay is $90. So i got the procedure done, and mabye 2-3 weeks later guess what? It fell out again. I went back and this time they said in order to get it fixed again i have to. 1. Pay for the first procedure in full which i was told would be covered by insurance 2. Pay $750 for one of their bite guards, which you can get for $150 online 3. Pay in full to get it fixed AGAIN, and hope my insurance will reimburse me. I will NEVER go back. I understand that dental care is not free, but they at least have the responsibility to be clear about the cost. They are overpriced, underqualified and dishonest. Clearly not everyone there is equally qualified because one filling lasts almose a decade and the other doesnt even last a month. I've been grinding my teeth the whole time, ive never worn a bite guard. The only difference is who actually performed the procedure. read more

I came here a little while ago for a consultation and felt very welcomed when I first came in. The lady at the front desk had a great big smile and greeted me professionally. I was then taken back by another lady who informed me she was a dental assistant, I can't remember her name though. But she was very friendly as well. I had very good vibes up until the Doctor came in. I saw the owner, Dr. Halmaghi. He came in and treated me as though I was his next big pay check. I came in looking for braces and he came in and told me my mouth was "too messed up for invisalign" (since I'm older and would prefer clear braces.) I easily got offended and he told me I was looking at about $5,000 for braces and it would all have to be paid up front, then he just walked out of the room. Im sorry but I'm coming to you for reassurance that my issue can be fixed, not to be talked down to like all I am is your next paycheck. Everyone else there was a 10 on my scale, but he was surely a 1. He was very rude and unprofessional. I will not be returning back to your facility. read more

I admit, I haven't been to the dentist in a while so I been searching around for a good and affordable dentist office for a cleaning (a deep cleaning in my case, I did say it's been a while lol). I settled on Comfort Dental and they really live up to the title. I'm glad I chose this place. It's a small office, but the staff is nice and friendly as was Dr. Forte, who was my dentist. She was very accommodating and made me very comfortable and relaxed during my procedures. She also discovered I actually didn't need as much work as I was told previously so I paid way less than what I planned to, and still got a nice discount! Can't beat that. This will be my regular dentist office from now on. read more

I would like to say that I will NOT be going back to John Halmaghi D.D.S. Every time I have seen him he acts rushed and irritated when seeing me and my husband. He doesn't say hello, he talks down to the dental hygenist!! He rolled his eyes at me when I asked him politley if he could fix a small chip on my front tooth. Then he actually shaved my tooth to look down uneven with the other front tooth (which easily could have been corrected) I think he may be in the wrong profession. He is an unpleasant man who does not allow one to ask questions, and has an arrogant diva type attitude. However, Ingrida Dapkute D.M.D is VERY nice and polite and allows her patients to ask questions. She makes you feel like you are welcome to be there. I just feel sorry for her and the rest of the staff that has to work with him. I have never in my life been so disappointed in a Dentist. YIKES!!! read more
