I don't know what was…read moregoing through my head but we arrived an hour early (I had even written down the correct time in my calendar). the woman who checked us in told me that it would probably be at least 45 minutes, but they had a play room and we were welcome to stay. since I had a few errands to run, we did those and then headed back and went straight into the playroom. it didn't hurt that my little guy's favorite movie (Toy Story 3) was playing. about 10 minutes later, the hygienist came to get us. my little guy loved laying back in the chair and brushing the stuffed fish's teeth. he was very cooperative, but while we were waiting for the dentist, he was starting to get antsy. she arrived moments later and had a padded board so he could lay across our knees so she could look at his teeth. she was great with him and he even let her put a polish over his teeth without being too squirmy. she gave me a lot of great advice about when to give him juice and milk and reassured me that the binky he uses to sleep isn't messing up his teeth. she also showed me the best way to brush his teeth. my little guy even had the honor of being the best patient of the morning and for that he was able to grab and extra toy out of the toy box. I only hope all of his dentist experiences are this painless.

A year later, I finally decided to try a new dentist to make sure her teeth were looking good, and discovered Sweet Tooth. I was very anxious about her appointment that she might meltdown like the last attempt, but was very pleasantly surprised. She let them do x-rays at the beginning, and happily followed all of the hygienist's instructions from that point on! They had a TV mounted on the ceiling playing Bluey (genius!) which helped to distract her, and they made her feel comfortable the entire time. We went from tears in the parking lot to smiles within two minutes. The receptionist was so upbeat and engaging with her and of course the fun wall decor and cartoons on the TV helped. Our hygienist was fun and so knowledgeable in her recommendations. She was sure to involve my daughter throughout the process and kept her laughing and smiling. The dentist kept it going and they were both sure to smother her in compliments. I felt the cleaning was smooth and thorough as well. The office is dated and needs some upgrading but it was clean and welcoming to children. There are fun walls everywhere as well as TVs. Calling the morning before Thanksgiving and not being regular patients I was a bit concerned but they told us to get there as quickly as we could and they would see us. They obviously had a full schedule of patients that day but saw us and Dr. Hemberger did an amazing job working with our 2yr old and re-implanting his tooth and then saw us again a week later for a follow-up. Should we ever end up living in the area we would definitely take our kids there for their regular dental check-ups.

Here is my experience: Customer Service: 9/10 The ladies at the front desk are kind, professional, and organized. The hygienists wear PPE and are very thorough. They all so kind and welcoming. My kiddo always feels comfortable when we come here. Diversity: 9/10 I appreciate the fact that Dr. Stinnett has a diverse staff of hygienists. This is something that I have not observed other places, so it is refreshing to see other cultures working here. Safety First: 9/10 They do an excellent job of following COVID-19 protocols. Though masks are not required for patients and their families, they have plexiglass around the front desk, masks, and hand sanitizer available. I am not a fan of magazines in the waiting room (germs) but I understand the point. Patient portal: What I would love to see for current and future patients is the ability to access patient records and visit summaries. I do not always remember what was told to me by Dr. Stinnett and I would love to review past and current visits. Scheduling: If you are wanting your kid to be scheduled for a cleaning, be prepared to wait. I called in December to schedule a routine cleaning and the first available was mid-April. Once you are in office, I suggest scheduling visits in advance to avoid a several month wait. Communication: Dr. Stinnett is amazing at communicating what happens during the cleaning/service. She has a great approach to a plan of action for next steps and is always so friendly and thorough. She always keeps her patients best interest at heart and always takes her time. Her staff is always great at letting the patients know if she's running behind. Overall: 9/10 This is a great place to bring your kid for dental services. I was so touched with her kind and professional words she spoke to my grandson while doing a difficult task. Dr. Thomas spoke to my 7 yr. old grandson in a way that he completely trusted her by holding still and listening to her guidance.When she finished, I had to hug her and thanked her for the great experience we both had.
