I found Blue Valley Pediatrics on a local Facebook mom group that was recommended by many. It's relatively close to my work so I took a shot and my daughter and me are hooked! Scheduling an appointment was easy and I was able to do all the initial paperwork online before the appointment. Everyone was so friendly and the vibe here was so calm and relaxed. My daughter was smiling and laughing throughout her appointment and her hygienist explained everything in such a kid friendly way. Such a better experience than Parks Pediatric Dentistry. We will be return patients for sure!

I totally understand insurance issues happen, but after years of coming here, being treated like strangers trying to dodge a bill was not exactly the warm fuzzy pediatric dentist experience you hope for. So, friendly advice: triple-check your insurance before you go. They absolutely will not see you without it, and your child may have enough time in the waiting room to learn orthodontics themselves.

Initially he got scared when they attempted to put the gas mask over his nose, but Dr. Ben came in and calmed him down and made a mutual agreement that they would just hold it near his nose instead and my son agreed. I think you're supposed to take them around two or three, but then the pandemic happened, life happened, and, well, here we are. She gets pretty nervous for the doctor, so she was certainly nervous for this. However, the friendly staff here is so experienced and so helpful that her first check up and cleaning went splendidly. No wait either, which is so nice because it cuts down any lingering anxiety. Our baby tagged along for the visit and they gave her some toys to keep her entertained. The dentist was gentle, explanative, helpful and overall great. Additionally, we knocked out all the insurance paperwork easily beforehand on their website. A highlight for my daughter was when they let her pick a toothbrush and a prize on the way out of the door. Glad to find our pediatric dentist in KCMO (without having to drive out into the 'burbs), and really recommend them. I was leaning towards just making an appointment at my "grown-up" dentist, but after seeing how thoughtful and geared towards children this is, I recommend them, or at least a pediatric dentist if you're seeking out what to do for your kiddo(s).

They explain everything thoroughly and don't force us into products and procedures we aren't fully comfortable with. Plus, the office is gorgeous. I hate leaving a one star review when we had a good first experience with them, but I'm beyond…read morefrustrated with what's going on with our latest experience. One of my kids had four cavities that needed to be taken care of. I signed two estimates - one for the 'best case' scenario of one crown and three fillings, and one for 'worst case' scenario of four crowns. She made it very clear it was either/or. We scheduled the appointment, and my husband took her to her procedure. He was told that if anything came up or they needed to do anything additional, they would come out and let him know. He didn't hear from the dentist at all during the procedure. At the end of the procedure, all he was told was that it went well and they needed to do less than they originally planned. When I came home to see her, she had 8 crowns in her mouth with absolutely no explanation from anybody. I was sent a text with my balance - double what I had signed as an estimate . I asked them for an itemized bill on June 3. I also called and requested any documentation my husband signed while at the appointment. They took my email, and by June 4, I asked again and they told me they were getting information from their billers. They asked me if it would be okay if we waited until insurance made a payment on the appointment to deliver the information. I told them, no, that I wanted copies of the two estimates I signed, the docs my husband signed, and her notes and X-rays from her previous appointment and this one now. I never received a response. On June 9, I messaged again to follow up. On June 10, they told me they sent the information to the office manager who "should be contacting you soon." As of evening on June 11, I still haven't heard anything. I'm really upset that it came to a bad Google review but beside driving up to make a racket, which is my next step, I don't know what else to do about getting our records.
