I haven't been to a dentist in 10 years, due to poor experiences in the past. I've had a lot of dental work done (expanders, headgear, fillings, extractions, spacers, 3 sets of braces, invisi-line.) Dr. Ryan Jones is a very caring and professional dentist, the best and my favorite I've ever been to. I was so hesitant to return to any dentist for care, but had to since I had a filling fall out. Patients are treated like cattle without any regard for their time, sometimes waiting for up to two hours past their appointment. The office is run so poorly that no one person can answer the simplest of questions at any given time. The staff is undermanaged, runs wild and often suffers from a "bad day" that results in customer injuries. These are all things that I have personally experienced and are facts, not opinions. My experience with Dr. Price has been amazing. In particular this has now included a crown, several fillings, and cleanings. In particular, myself and my family are resistant to most anesthesia (ex: I was required by a CU teaching prof to be awake for my wisdom teeth extraction). I have been absolutely *shocked* at how well Dr. Price was able to deal with issues of anesthesia... truly a pro. His work, and the work of several assistants, was diligent and carful. I went in for a routine cleaning. Instead, the focus seemed to be on x-rays, and the "cleaning" I was given included polishing and flossing only. When I asked the dentist about plaque build up, which is my primary concern, he did clean some of it off for me. However, I can still feel plaque along my gum line in the majority of my mouth - which is my primary reason I go in for regular cleaning. I'm not sure if I have discomfort in my mouth because the cleaning that was done was completed in an odd order, or if it was too rough, but I am now unable to sleep because of physical pain from a partial procedure that has never caused me discomfort before - and it's been 6 hours since this was completed. Very disappointing. I paid full fee for a service that was partially provided, and left me unable to sleep due to physical discomfort. read more

Dr. Price exceeded all my expectations. Most people hate going to the dentist, however I've always had a pleasant experience. I was hesitant to see a new dentist, but since I'm from NH and had been having tooth aches for a few months, I had no choice but to schedule an appointment in Colorado. My first appointment lasted about 5 minutes. Dr. Price introduced himself and then proceeds to tell me I needed a root canal and crown (all with a smile, and positive attitude). After going back for the surgery, Dr. Price explained the procedure (again, in a positive attitude) and after about 2 hours the surgery was complete. I had zero pain with the temporary crown, and I have zero pain with the permanent crown. The whole staff is very friendly. Dr. Price brings a positive attitude through and through, is always smiling, and is extremely personable. Frankly, he is just the man and I cannot recommend this Comfort Dental more. read more

I was experiencing pain in the bottom of my left side of my mouth and could feel bone (was completely freaked out and scared). I was able to get an appointment with Comfort Dental Thompson Valley. X-rays showed it wasn't a tooth, and otherwise everything else looked great. After exam, Dr said it wasn't bone and sent me home with steroid mouthwash. This week I have been in so much pain and my tongue is raw and bleeding from rubbing on this hard spot. I was so desperate for relief and started digging at the spot along my gum and ended up digging out several different bony growths. Once I got those out I am pretty much pain free other than that spot being tender from performing oral surgery on myself. It still blows my mind that the dentist couldn't or didn't take the time to see that it was actually hard bony mass. It infuriates me when DR'S don't listen to a patient and just make assumptions! The crazy thing is, the dental ASSISTANT actually said bone spur to me, but the DR I guess didn't' agree. read more

I'll preface this by saying that all of the dentists and hygienists at this practice were incredibly kind and friendly. I have major dental anxiety, and they were friendly enough that the experience was bearable. Kudos for that. But ultimately, that's unfortunately where the positive experience ended for me. I originally came in for what I assumed was a routine cleaning, but it turns out that at Comfort Dental, a "new patient visit" is not a cleaning at all, but a diagnostic X-ray. I ended up going to this practice three separate times and never receiving a cleaning; I would have had to book a fourth visit (and paid yet another visit fee) to get one. If, like me, you're used to cleanings being the default on first visits at other practices, learn from my mistakes and ask when scheduling: "I would like to schedule a cleaning. How do I do so? Can you confirm that a cleaning will be performed at this visit?" Instead, on my first visit, I was told that I had six cavities. This was a shock to me because I had come in with zero dental pain and I have only ever had two cavities before in my life--developing six cavities in the six months since my last visit seemed unlikely. But I'm a trusting person and I believe that we're all only born with one set of teeth and need to take great care of them, so I booked appointments to get them fixed. The cavity appointments were, to be fair, as painless as they could be and went well overall (though I was surprised that it seemed as if the hygienist was doing the bulk of the work). But since that appointment, I have gone from zero dental pain to regular pain, often so excruciating that it distracts me from normal life. Since going to Comfort Dental Thompson Valley, I have gone from having a positive relationship with my teeth to, frankly, dreading eating and the pain it might bring. And, after reading other reviews discussing how dentists providing second opinions have consistently told Comfort Dental Thompson Valley patients that alleged cavities don't exist at all, I can't help but worry that a profit-motivated misdiagnosis has consigned me to a lifetime of otherwise preventable dental pain. I feel so naive for trusting Comfort Dental. I wish that I had gotten a second opinion before getting services performed, and I wish that I had gotten them performed elsewhere. (I have noticed that Comfort Dental replies to reviews on other platforms to cast doubt on their validity, so, while I don't feel that providing my personal patient information is necessary or relevant in this review--I do not require a response or follow-up--I thought it would be beneficial to provide a few details to make it clear that I am in fact reviewing the correct practice. So, some fun facts! One of the hygienists who worked on me sings along with Taylor Swift songs when they come on the playlist, and she has a gorgeous voice. You all have a treasure chest at the checkout for kids to choose from after appointments. Pretty disappointing. Dr. Fellows saw me and introduced me to the concept of "spot" cleaning. I went in for a 6 mo. cleaning and he cleaned my 10 front teeth, 4 upper, 6 lower. He only scraped the backside of them and not along the gum line. All he said are my teeth are in great shape and he's spot cleaning the ones indicated. He also made sure to take extra x-rays (that were not necessary). When I checked with my insurance, he charged me for a full cleaning. I won't be back to Comfort if he's an indication of quality of dentist working there. read more

I am a recovering meth addict, so it doesn't take much imagination to picture the number that two years of heavy smoking use did to my teeth. After reaching my second year in recovery, I decided it was time to boost my self esteem a bit by fixing my smile. I have a phobia of going to the dentist, but Dr. Fillmore squashed it for me immediately, and was so kind when I shared my story of why I had the mouth of a meth head. He was so pleasant, emphatic and eager to do whatever he could to help get my smile back. He agreed that I needed dentures and got mine approved to be made before all my teeth were extracted, which can be rare with Medicaid. He is so personable, and each extraction session has been a breeze. I get my upper dentures on the 18th of July and am truly blessed to have Dr. Fillmore as my dentist and advocate! We started going to Thompson Valley Comfort Dental about a year ago. Several friends recommended Kody Krouse when I wanted a second opinion about a son's cavities. Dr. Krouse saved us hundreds of dollars in fillings that another dentist in the area wanted done on baby teeth that would fall out within a year or so. One time, another son had a semi-emergency. Dr. Krouse wasn't available, so he saw Dr. Orrock. Like Dr. Krouse, Dr. Orrock is great with kids and has a personality that helps kids to feel relaxed. For our family, the calm, relaxed atmosphere/personalities of these dentists is a big deal to us after seeing a pediatric dentist a few years ago whose approach was the opposite and the kids in my family who saw that dentist are scared to go. The receptionists and billing staff are great, too. They've been very helpful every time I talked with them and they guided me through insurance process from their side when our insurance wouldn't process due to a typo in my kids' profile at the insurance company. read more

I was dreading my visit to the dentist as I have had a couple of really bad experiences with a Dentist in Greeley. The Doctor was very attentive, knowledgeable and extremely gentle. It's easy to feel shameful about missing dentition but I did not feel shamed here at all. The Dentist was able to address a longtime dental issue and I am most grateful. I am new to Colorado and dreaded finding a new dentist. Today I had my first appointment and I was super impressed. The office is clean pleasant and even better, it was empty. They got me going on my paperwork and were very helpful and patient and then took me to a small cozy sun filled office with a round wood table completely not clinical, to wait for the Dr. to come speak with me. I haven't had this kind of personal treatment in my many decades and have always met the dentist after I was in the chair . Dr. Krause came in after a very few minutes and greeted me warmly and we really just sat and talked about my dental history and my present needs. There was no sense of being rushed in any way by Dr Krause and he listened in a way that calmed me. He took me back himself to the dental chair and introduced me to his assistant who then took my xrays gently and kindly. Everything was explained to me every step of the way and I left looking forward to my next appointment and I can easily say I am not a fan of the dentist. I would highly recommend Dr. Krause. It's rare that a business lives up to its name but it's true, I did feel comfort at Comfort Dental. read more

She did an amazing job and created a new temporary crown from scratch that feels even better than the one I got from my dentist back home. All the staff was super friendly. After a horrible experience at another area dental office, I decided to try Comfort Dental on 10th Street in Loveland, without telling them anything about my experience elsewhere 2 months prior where they made it sound like I was in terrible shape and needed four one-hour appointments for deep cleaning at a cost of over $1,000; appointments I never set up. I got an appointment immediately (within a couple of days) at Comfort Dental and was escorted to an office to meet my new dentist, Dr. Tran. It's the first time I've met a new dentist where I wasn't lying down looking up at the Doctor and I really liked that we met sitting at a table to discuss what I wanted from my visit before going to the dental chair. Dr. Tran was extremely friendly and took time to listen and to care about his patient. The exam went very well and the cleaning was superb! I left with a beautiful white smile in a very short time in the chair, at a very inexpensive cost. It was an easy-going visit with no pressure or tactics to do more than what I wanted done. Dr. Tran will be my dentist from now on. If he moves, I will go where he is, wherever that is! read more

I visited the office yesterday for the first time. I have Medicaid insurance. Their website says that new patients receive an exam and x-rays for $19. However, they billed my Medicaid account for $116 for my exam and x-rays. I called them and was told that the $19 applied only to patients without insurance. Nothing at their website states this. This was the worst cleaning I've ever experienced. They did a very wimpy polishing and an inept flossing. The hygienist didn't even attempt to scrape any tartar or plaque off my teeth saying the dentist would do it during the exam. Then the dentist barely scraped my teeth, only a couple of spots. I have had numerous hygienists tell me I have greater than usual built up on the back of my front bottom teeth. This "cleaning" was hardly better than using a toothbrush. It was a waste of my semi-annual insurance-covered cleaning. read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but after my most recent experience I felt I should show my gratitude to the great folks at Comfort Dental. I've been seeing Dr. Filmore for a few years now and he has always gone above and beyond to take care of my teeth. On my last visit however he took even more time to alleviate some sensitivity issues that I was having due to my receding gum lines. This is a condition that occurs as we age, but thanks to Dr. Filmore's knowledge of new techniques he relieved my symptoms and I haven't had sensitivity issues since. Additionally, I find their rates very reasonable and the dental assistants are very capable and professional. I actually look forward to going to the dentist! read more

First of all, my daughter is a dentist and if she didn't live so far away I would have gone to her. We recently moved to the area and needed a new dentist. My husband goes in to have his teeth cleaned, waits a half an hour in the chair to be seen and they don't do the cleaning. Instead they tell him that he will have to come back two more times for a deep cleaning. Why two more times. Our old dentists did everything in one shot. Then they charge him for an appointment where they did nothing but x-rays and a visual exam. Something that should of been covered by our insurance but for some reason he was told by their billing department that our insurance only covered 60%. I don't think so. Our insurance has always covered 100% of our regular check ups. Called the insurance company and low and behold 100% should have been covered. Needless to say we cancelled his future appointments. I told my daughter about our experience and she tells me, "OH NO, NO, NO. Comfort Dental is the Walmart of dentistry. Never go there. They do shotty work and they don't care about their clients. They are in the industry to make money and that is it. You might as well be on an assembly line because that is how they manage their offices." Wish I would have spoken to her first. It was a nightmare. Long wait times, both in the waiting area and in the chair. More than an hour without anyone coming to check on me after begin given a numbing shot. Yet, when I got up to go find a restroom, I passed no fewer than 5 staff members, none of whom asked if I needed help, and 3 of whom were sitting in a staff-only break type area. Dentist "unable" to pull the tooth after all that. When I switched dentists and called to request that my set of 14 x-rays be sent over so I wouldn't have to repeat them, I was told they couldn't be emailed because Comfort Dental "doesn't have email"? I was told I'd need to pay a $20 "processing fee" to get my records. read more

My husband has a badly infected tooth and he's in agony. So I call this comfort dental and they say they can squeeze him in at 8:30am. So we hurry down there and we sit down expecting to be helped in a few minutes. Instead almost every staff member in that office walks by is not one asking if we've been helped. After sitting there for 30 minutes I got up walked to the back and told all the staff that were hanging out talking to each other that we have been waiting and no one has helped us. The doctor comes out and tells us that he has a lot of people working in the office and they all assume that someone else has taken care of things regarding the front office. Not to mention the assistant working with the dentist was extremely rude. I would not recommend this office or refer anyone to them. read more

Dr. Fillmore told me recently that I was one of his first patients since coming to this practice. I have never been left sitting in the waiting area for more than 5 to 10 minutes following my arrival. I have always been treated in a respectful and professional manner by all of the staff. In the past I have had bad experiences at other places so it takes a lot to gain my trust. I can truly say that I trust Dr. Fillmore! He is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled dentist! I would never return to this office. My dentist Dr. Orrock was amazing and a great dentist, however the office staff is unbelievably rude. I have never been treated so poorly in customer service. Then I send in a note with full payment about the rude and inconsiderate experience I had with the staff and get a comment back of "Thank you for your payment" and a smiley face on the complaint letter that I had sent in.
