I love how she answers the phone and there's no robot "press 1 for this and 2 for that" to try to get through to someone. The hygienist was amazing. So friendly and gentle on my teeth. The best cleaning I've ever had in my 32 years! She spent a lot of time with me doing a really thorough and detailed job. I usually dislike going to the dentist because it's uncomfortable and I hate the sucker thingy but I had no anxiety or anything here. The dentist was also great! He came in towards the end of the cleaning to check my X-rays and check all my teeth, and discuss any dental concerns I had. Overall, it was clearly wonderful. I didn't feel rushed through at all and they have excellent covid procedures to stay safe for the staff and for the patients. This dental practice is not what it used to be over 10 years ago. Dr. Wuerker has lost all interpersonal skills. I was an idiot for giving him a second chance. After walking around to cool down, I found a homeless guy who lives behind the FNB who offered me a cleaning and he did a wonderful job. Yeah his hands were a bit more shakey than Dr. Wuerker but he gives you a little hi chew when you're done so it works itself out in the end. He also accepted many payment methods including multiple brands of cigarettes (open and unopened!) Dr. Wuerker has a cool dog that gave me a boop outside when I needed it so thankful for that small moment but that's about it. Find another practice. Save yourself a TON of stress and $$$. They get you in the door then will drop all the extra $$$ during the visit when none was discussed on phone. Second time. I wish the dog well but that's about it. In truth that was my last time trying to go any dentist. I've given up on all hope at this point which shatters me.

I had met her for the first time on the day before my last appointment. She told me that she and "the girls" appreciated me, mainly, I suppose, because I always tried to bring a little treat of some sort with me. I stood from my seat and said "Thank you, Ellie. I appreciate y'all, too". Which was true. I've always tried to treat others as I would like to be treated. As I said that, I stood next to her and gave her a sideways hug in the middle of their waiting room. Period. That was my only interaction with her. I ramble on about that meeting because during my last dental visit, Dr. Murphy laid me back in the dental chair, made himself comfortable, and proceeded to calmly run his drill back and forth along the exposed roots of an upper tooth. He told me he had a little work he wanted to do on a tooth, and I had no reason to suspect otherwise. When he was through with his grinding on my tooth, I was ready to go. I knew something wasn't right, but I didn't know what. I stood up and confronted him (not angrily, because I didn't know what he had done at that time), saying that "the last time a dentist did that, I lost a tooth, which was true. That was when I was 15, though, and dentistry has come a long way. Not with Murphy, though. He said something about "his wife" which I didn't understand. I just left. When the anesthesia wore off, I discovered the mischief he had been up to. That tooth HURT! And it continued to hurt/ache for months and months. I had found another dentist by then, who told me that he "couldn't see anything". Murphy had not killed the tooth or left any visible evidence, making me wonder if he hadn't done this before. I don't know about that. All I know for sure is that this is really not the work of a sane man. To fabricate such a thing in his mind, then act on that fabrication, is just not right. You can be the judge. Just be aware that anything you might do or say could let the monster out, for you to pay the price.

When I got there I asked about that, and was told they were running early. How could they have know that 3 days prior? Then I again verified my expense and was told that Medicare would only pay a small amount and that I would be responsible for the additional charges. I asked what that would be, and was told 'it depends'. I like to know up front how much things will cost before I receive the services. I was unhappy with the reply, and left. They were annoyed and told me the time had been set aside for me.

I had a previous dentist not give me enough Novocaine, causing some anxiety during this process. She was very understanding and kind and worked with me to make sure I was okay during the entire process. To give you an idea of how much I like her as a dentist, I live in Denver and drive 60 miles to see her. Last year, I attempted another dentist due to some unfortunate dental insurance and he tried to replace a lot of stuff that wasn't needed. Dr. Ray is honest about what you need, and will work with you on your schedule and payments. Six months later I was told by another dentist that I had severe bone degeneration because of a failed cavity procedure (done by her) that was infected so bad that it caused an infection which ate through my jaw bone and now I need oral surgery to scrape all of it out and possibly a bone graft! All of this could have been prevented if she had given me an x-ray that day I went in. She would have saw that the previous cavity filling failed and I had a raging infection.
