Went in for a 90 minute massage appointment and shared on the phone that I'm pregnant. They said it was no problem and that they'd accommodate me on a different chair. When I arrived, they didn't take note in my appointment that I'm pregnant and the guy they assigned to me definitely didn't know how to massage a pregnant person. He spent 70 of my 90 minutes on just my feet/calves. It was great, but I paid for a full body massage. At the 70 minute mark, I had to ask him if he would move to my back and he ended up giving me a few rubs through my knitted sweater while I was lying on my side - no pillow for my legs or anything. Felt strange getting massaged through my thick sweater. My husband in the next room had a more typical 90 minute massage with oils, hot stones, etc. I just don't think they really knew how to handle a pregnant person but then shouldn't have said they could do it when I made the appointment. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. As many here have said, I called for a one hour combo foot/body massage for an hour. Instead of telling me on the phone they only take walk-ins and 1/2 hour massages, I had to drive to the place. When I got there, they said the masseuse who does feet wasn't there, could only do 1/2 hour and no foot massage. Then she wanted $65 upfront before the massage (which is a 40% tip!!) outrageous. I was a walk-in customer on a Saturday afternoon. The female masseuse seemed to be there alone and she could only see me for 30 minutes (make an appointment!). So, in short, I had a really pretty darn good 30 minute massage for $45 and mandatory $20 tip. As others mention, you should be aware that they DON'T do the foot soaking type of foot massage, there is a MANDATORY $20 tip (even on 30 minutes), and you have to pay in advance before the massage, which is $65 an hour before tip. Those things are a bit startling. Also, I couldn't understand a word that she said, except for massa-ge what and knees and turnover. But she was good and pleasant. Terrible experience. I made an appointment for a one-hour full body massage from 6 to 7 o'clock. The masseuse led me into the massage room first, asked me to pay before the massage started, and then told me that the tip was $20. The full body massage was $65, and she asked me to tip $20 before the massage started, which was about 30% of the massage. It means if you don't agree, don't start. It was so long-winded that it was already 6:08 pm when I took off my clothes and lay down on the massage bed. There is no real hand massage in the whole process, she used a hot stone to massage. At 7 o'clock, she told me that the massage was over after exactly one hour. But it was already 6:08 when she started coming in for massage. Very bad experience. Definitely won't go again. Something very very sketchy is going on there. When you walk in, there is a walled fortress with cameras on you. The lady cracked open the locked door and asked what we wanted. We said we had an appt for an hour massage. The lady said we are very busy hold on. We sat down, then a gentlemen around 60 bolted out the door with his head down. They told us to come back. When they brought us through the 2 sets of locked doors, we each were put into a room. I noticed right away that every room had a flat screen with cameras looking EVERYWHERE, including down the outside walkway and parking lot! There was not one other person in the building other than us. The massage lasted 40 minutes and the lady had absolutely no idea how to give a massage, that was painfully obvious. She finished, and when I exited the room she states YOU GIVE NE TIP! Then I saw on the screen 2 sketchy 20-30 something year old males come in and we were hurriedly rushed out of the business. When I opened the door to go the smell of what smelled liked boiled fish hit me hard. It definitely was fish cooking but extremely strong. I made a reservation for a 60 minute massage. Got there and was told they could only do 30 mins. I should have walked, no should have run out then. Then the masseuse proceeded to confirm with me that I would tip her! For the money, it can't be beat. If you've never been to a "foot spa" before, you should know that a 60 minute reflexology massage is actually a full body massage with your clothes on. Better if you're wearing something like exercise tights than jeans - it's just easier for them to massage through. It's a totally adequate massage, and they're usually pretty available (so great if you're not a planner). $29 for the hour, plus tip. They prefer cash, and will upcharge you a few bucks if you need to use a card. read more

I've been to the Comfoot in Monterey and had a pleasant experience every time, but going to the Comfoot in Pacific Grove was a bad experience. The massage was ok but we asked for two male massage therapists and got one male and one female. Then when I went to pay for both massages, the lady massage therapist yelled at me because I didn't tip more than 20% of my bill. This left me stressed and RUINED my experience. Needless to say, I will not be going back. She's unprofessional and a mean lady. read more

I had really bad back pains and sore muscles all over. After 30 minutes of body massage and 30 minutes foot reflexology (Combo) I felt better already. Michelle is the massage therapist. I've been getting reflexology for more than 10 years and this is a fairly standard facility. Service is fine, but the way the place is run is completely corrupt. When asked what service I wanted, I clearly pointed to #1 with the clearly marked fee of $29. When it came time to pay, though I would have preferred credit card, I opted for cash since I know the workers benefit from that and also because they charge an obnoxious $2 service fee. I had every intention of leaving a 20% tip, but when I handed over $40 in cash the woman refused to give me change. She indicated that she wanted me to give her a $20 tip, and was upset about the $11 tip on a $29 service. I told her a standard tip was 15% and she told me no and that she would not give me any change. I pointed to the sign that said $29 clear as day, and she pulled out a different sign that said she'd prefer a $20 tip on every service. Pretty ridiculous and complete false advertising. This place is a scam and should be shut down. Pretty sure they don't declare any tips or pay taxes on any cash customers. I haven't received such awful customer service or been blatantly scammed like this since I lived in China. read more

Come foot spa was a clean and peaceful place. As far as the massage. It was mediocre at best. Probably 20 minutes was spent picking at my toes and no massage. At the very end of my massage, the masseuse finally put some muscle into on my back. The menu said it was a $29 per hour massage. When I went to pay, I left her a four dollar tip and she got very upset. She showed me a flyer scotch taped to her desk that said five dollars and a frowning face emoji was a bad massage. Next to that was a :-) emoji that said massage $10 good massage. They also charge two dollars to use your credit card. I will never go back. The lady was hollering at me as I walked out the door.
