I love comedy connection. They get amazing comedians and it's a really chill environment. I like that you can order drinks from your seats with a QR code, really convenient! They have a small parking lot but it doesn't accommodate everyone, good to plan ahead so you have time to park. One of Rhode Island staples that still seems to be a nice affordable night out. I have seen multiple comedians over the span of a few years. On most occasions Eric is my server, he is always quick, kind and helpful. The mix drinks are fantastic. I love the Love Potion, it even has sparkles in it! SO CUTE. I have never ordered food so I am unable to attest to that. Yes, seating is tight, it always has been and always will be. I am 5'4 have yet to have an issue seeing the stage, I am also intelligent enough to know to go for when the doors open so I can get a favorable seat. I recently attended a show to see Deray Davis this past weekend. I did not like how cramped and crowded the venue is. I literally could not see anything majority of the show due to how close we were all sitting. The person I was sitting next to was very tall so I unfortunately could not see over his head. They should really reconsider seating arrangements because it was super uncomfortable and felt like we were all sitting on top Of each other. I was literally bumping legs with a guy I didn't know who I was sitting next too, super awkward and uncomfortable . I would even question safety because god forbid there's any kind of fire , everyone would be trampling over each other to exit this already cramped building. It was so crowded it became very hot as well. The drink I had was just okay. I did appreciate the servers bringing the drinks directly to the table so we didn't have to get up in such a crowded venue. I think bar food (which I thought they might have given my google search which said they have "bar bites" and other reviews mentioning food) , actual food would elevate the experience in addition to having some personal space! Who wants to pay money to feel claustrophobic for a show that's supposed to be entertaining ?! There was also a group of people especially one female who kept yelling out and interrupting the show and that became Very irritating. I've been going to the Comedy Connection for the better part of 10+ years. There was a point where I was probably going on average twice a month. This place is such a great venue for so many reasons. The ticket prices are reasonable and the lineups are always great, with awesome local talent as well as major national acts. There is free parking, and the service is great and food is good if you want a bite during the show. And honestly it's nearly impossible to have a bad seat because it's such an intimate space, which I prefer hands down over larger theater comedy venues. I love coming back whenever I can to enjoy a show, have some laughs, and appreciate stand up comedy. This place is one of my favorite go to spots if I want a night out; it definitely beats sitting at a bar. My friends from out of town always have a blast too! read more

We came tonight in a group of 8 to see one of our favorite comedians. The show appeared sold out and all tables were full. From the time the show started at 7pm, a couple behind us were very drunk and disruptive. They consistently spoke over the comedians and heckled them during their act. My party asked them nicely to stop interrupting and speaking during the show. A little later another party asked them to stop talking... The security guard came over multiple times to give warnings, but did not take any actions to remove them. A little later into the show another party screamed at them multiple times and got security twice. They were allowed to stay until they paid their bill after 8pm.... So everyone around them essentially got to enjoy 30 minutes of the show afterwards. We alerted the manager after the show of what had transpired and she was immediately extremely unprofessional and condescending. We nicely explained the situation without initially asking for anything, and she rudely told us that if we had a problem with it we should have left the show or asked to move seats. Mind you, the show was at capacity and we were a party of eight. We should have walked out during the show that we paid to see if we had a problem with the unruly guests behind us? How about remove people who are clearly violating the rules and don't over serve them alcohol...Truthfully, the female, middle- aged blonde manager's behavior and attitude was more shocking than the unruly guests. I asked if I could possible come back to at least be able to hear another show and I was looked at with disgust. She even went as far to accuse me of thinking someone should be kicked out just because "I say so." Mind you, another party lost their cool and yelled at these people, so for her to try to invalidate my experience without even witnessing what happened was way out of line. Her yelling at us and not having any sympathy for our experience was the last thing we needed after a tough situation. Not sure how she managed to wind up in a customer facing role, but her behavior was uncalled for and we certainly feel unwelcome to return after the encounter. Please do better! read more

I had my first Comedy Connection experience on Saturday night. We had tickets to the late show. I will share with you what I learnt and when I go back what I would do differently: 1. Tickets are very affordable! 2. We arrived a few minutes before 9:30 when the doors opened and there was plenty of parking available in the lot 3. We have to sit with strangers? I had no idea. We were packed in like sardines at the table too! So next time I would rather sit on the side of the stage and face the stage- this way our backs wouldn't have hurt! Or as my guy suggested- reserve a bar seat to fully turn our chairs around! 4. Our waiter was very attentive and always around! 5. There's food! Who knew? So He had cheese fries. He said not bad but nothing 'earth shattering' about them. I had the soft cinnamon pretzels. So when I ordered them the waited said chipotle? As it is written in the menu it looks like there are two kinds to choose from but apparently there is only chipotle cinnamon pretzels. I threw caution out the window and went for it! The pretzels were drenched in cinnamon so much that when they were dipped in the accompanying maple syrup a could of cinnamon appeared. Too much cinnamon and I tried wiping it off but it was stuck on too good! Also, maple syrup dip in the dark... I ended up with maple syrup in my hair and scarf! 6. The bathrooms are up stairs. No problem for me but if you were drinking heavy be aware! I can say it looks like the small garbage in the bathroom wasn't emptied after the first show of the night... paper towels everywhere 7. When the show is over they want you out The host was funny and overall we laughed a good amount. I would go back but change the game plan. read more

Love the idea of a comedy venue in Providence and I laughed so hard seeing Anthony Rodia last night... he put on a great show!! I would give this place 3.5 stars solely for the fact that they're charging $50 a ticket and literally sitting people on top of each other. They had 12 people at a table that could fit 8 comfortably. The venue is nice, bathrooms clean, service was great, full bar menu, but the seating situation really is atrocious. They should consider removing 1/4 of the seats and charging more if it's a money issue. Went to see Dan Soder as a group outing of 13 people. What we thought was a good time was a lack of professionalism and an absolute disgrace to humanity. While the staff was apologetic for dans behavior it was the absolute worst comedy show we have ever seen. He was not at all funny and because he thought the group could be easily picked on he targeted our group. As well as we take these comments he took it too far. We just wanted to have a good time and it was a shame that the celebration has to be ruined by this comedian. Very upset about the entire situation and how it was handled. Intimate is both the perfect word and an oxymoron for this location. It is tiny, but the seating is group style. Everything is painted black and if you are claustrophobic just stay clear. On (at least sold out nights) they staff will seat you. Expect at the minimum 8 to a table shoulder to shoulder. The benefit being that most of the tables are within a few feet of the stage. Expect to come early if it is a sold out show. I would expect that this would be an awesome spot for a Friday night Mic-Night. Expect a waitress to host you and to order food or drinks. I honestly did not do enough research, I ate dinner before hand and was not ready at the beginning for a drink. The food is bar style and a small menu as opposed to the drink menu which is overflowing. Prices are so reasonable and the selection (of drinks) is amazing. The bartender is not cheap on the liquor to liquid ration either, which was a nice surprise. The food was unexpectedly good. We ordered the fried pickle spears. I hadn't reading it fully and was surprised when I saw they were actual spears. So good. Some of the best I've had. They would do well to up the ante with a thousand island or spicy mayo style dipping sauce. The couple lacrosse from us ordered a flat bread Mediterranean flavored pizza and we were savoring. We saw an amazing act and it was well controlled. Everything from the walkways, to the clean stage, backdrop, projector and sound system was on point. I usually love this place but was very disappointed in my most recent experience. We had to get this past Saturday night to see Drew Lynch. I had a large party of eight people, so I emailed ahead and asked if we could reserve & seats together. They emailed me back and told me they would and thanks for the heads up. (Sorry but we weren't going to eat here, the food here is pretty awful it's basically just frozen food that they bake). We got caught up at dinner because the restaurant was taking forever but I wasn't worried because I had emailed ahead and reserved a table with eight seats for us. We arrived at about 7:10 and the doorman very rudely told us they had no seats together for us and did not save anything. I told him that I had emailed ahead and was told the eight seats would be saved together for us, and he very rudely replied well you should've gotten here earlier then. They separated all of us by two couples each and shoved my husband and I and a back corner under the overhang where we could barely see. There happened to be enough seats for us to sit together where my husband and I were, they were awful. So one of our friends had to walk around the entire club to find everybody and get them all together. I cannot tell you how absolutely rude and ignorant the door staff is there it blew me away. Terrible I went this dump a couple weeks back to see a star performer. I forgot that you have to sit through a few horrible unfunny comedians before the lead act comes on. Sadly the whole act from these hacks was bad politically driven jokes. None of it was funny, so after about an hour, I yelled out something to the terrible comedian. I didn't realize you couldn't do this and two bouncers ran up to me and physically escorted me out of the building. I apologized for saying anything and they didn't even give me warning. I never got to see the act that paid a good amount of money to see. Completely unprofessional, unfunny, overpriced, and seriously just boring. The place is an old dump that books crappy opening acts and forces their customers to sit through this because once the show starts they won't let you in, so your stuck having to endure this garbage. I've only been to this club twice. I had fun both times, and thought the staff was friendly - they weren't pushy about ordering drinks or forcing us to sit in certain seats. The reason I give it 3 stars is because we purchased tickets in advance to see Kyle Dunnigan. We found out that we were at a show for Mekki Leeper when they introduced him to the stage. We never got an email notification, so that was confusing, and a bit disappointing; however, we found Mekki's act to be funny, so all was not lost. 5 stars all around. Went here last night to see Nicole Byer ("Nailed It"). It was our first time here. I'd heard from some friends that "every seat's a great view of the stage" - and they're pretty spot on. The positioning of the stage runs along a sorta rectangle (the longer side) so the distance from bar to stage is shorter than in most comedy clubs, so great views all around. I'm sure I'm describing this horribly, but trust me - the club is cozy in the best possible way. Special Note: Table seating in some areas can be tight, so if you're uncomfortable sitting close to people/strangers, maybe opt for bar seating when you get your tickets? The service is STELLAR. Fast, friendly, professional, and respectful while the show's going on. My spicy dirty martinis were almost "too" good. The opener (Ray Harrington) was srsly hilarious. I've been to a ton of NYC clubs and they often squeeze in 2-3 openers before the main event in the hopes that's you'll just keep drinking, etc. Comedy Connection started on time, had a solid host, one opener, and then the main event (Nicole - always great). Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or night of. Price is reasonable. . . can range anywhere from $10 to $30 per ticket depending on the comic booked. They boast some relatively recognizable names from time to time, for instance in the coming months they have Craig Gass and Ralphie May advertised. I know in the past they've hosted Tom Green, etc. Showing up 15 minutes early got my date and I a seat in the front row. Though this may or may not be desirable for some, it is certainly an experience being called out and becoming part of the show. Staff were very prompt in getting drink/food orders in. Full bar located in the back of the facility but waitstaff are more than capable of filling your needs throughout the show. Empties are cleared with little distraction, additional drinks offered at appropriate intervals. A Manhattan and a Blue Moon draft came to approximately $12. Decent selection of draft, bottled, and specialty drinks. I have never tried the food here, from the looks of it, the menu offers several different appetizers, pizzas, and sandwiches. Keep your eye out, I've never actually paid full price to get into this place. Coupons and deals pop up from time to time. This place is great for dates, group outings, and celebrations. I love this comedy club! I live in CT and it's the best comedy club near me by far, with the exception of going into NYC. They do an excellent job with the bookings, pretty much every couple months there'll be a comedian I really want to see. We went to go see Dan Soder back in October and their COVID safety protocols made me feel very comfortable. Plenty of space between tables, masks, everything was run very smoothly too. They're doing a great job. The tickets are affordable and the drinks were good too! Well worth the money. Definitely one of my favorite places to go / favorite date nights.
