I stumbled upon this gem after googling "vinyl records near me" while in the Duluth area. The service was fair, but what really impressed me was the extensive collection of up-to-date vinyl records. Unlike other stores that primarily stock older records, CD Warehouse has a great selection of contemporary vinyl. It's the best store I've visited so far for vinyl shopping. I managed to rack up on many new records here. The best part was the value. The prices were not bad at all to say many of these were newer. I'll definitely be back! The owner Ken and his associate Josh are some of the best in the biz. Ken has turned me on to some fantastic records I may have never thought of and he reaches out when something comes in that he knows I'd like. RetroSound Records has a great selection. Pro tip: Always start out with what's on the front counter. Never fails. Then hit the bins on the end of the front counter. Those sections never fail me. They have an EXCELLENT jazz section and right in the middle of the shop are many great records that are half price. THAT section never fails me either. It's my favorite. Ken has a great selection in general and he will spin anything you ask him to (unsealed of course). If you are into vinyl, always buy local! We need to keep shops like this open. Wuxtry Records is a quirky looking music store that looked like it specialized in selling used CDs and vinyl records. I had called the store asking one of the employees about them buying my CD collection, but he couldn't commit to anything until he saw the condition of the CDs and their genres. He explained that he would not buy CDs if they already had enough inventory for that title, but would consider buying rock CDs. I had a lot of those! Parking was easy on the weekday that I went, and I didn't have any trouble finding a space in the free parking lot that is shared by all of the retail stores in the shopping center. I brought in about 200 CDs to the front counter and was told to come back in about an hour while they went through all of the CDs and determined which ones they were going to buy. During my wait, I just browsed in the store. There were lots of CD titles and groups that I have never heard of, and lots of familiar ones too, and they all looked in great condition. And there was a lot of quirkiness! In the end, there were about 40 CDs that I was not able to sell to Wuxtry Records. This was fair to me and was a good experience. I didn't receive anywhere near the money that I spent to get these CDs, but my goal was to get something out of the CDs that I knew I wasn't every going to play again.

If you're looking for something niche like a 2019 TWICE album, chances are you'll actually find it here when other stores are sold out. That said, the pricing here is honestly hard to justify. There are at least two other K-pop stores nearby, and this one is by far the most expensive. It feels like they're charging Los Angeles prices while operating in Georgia, where minimum wage is still $7.25. Photocards in particular are priced ridiculously high -- easily 3 to 4 times more than what other local stores charge for similar items. This store has multiple location on the west coast. Service isn't as personable no reason for u to come back. What makes it worse is that the other shop owners in the area are clearly aware of these prices, yet this store still continues with the same markup strategy. The atmosphere also feels less personal compared to the smaller stores nearby. The other shops feel more community-oriented and welcoming, while this one feels more transactional. If you absolutely need a hard-to-find album or older release, this is probably the place to check. But for casual shopping, photocards, or just overall value, there are definitely better options in the area.

Before emailing I had called several times and it said that the number was invalid. I then found another alternate phone number and called that. Despite the small size of the store, I was impressed with the selection (DVDs, Blu Ray, CDs, records). Everything is alphabetized, so that's super helpful. I perused and found a few more movies I couldn't live without (ha!). The value is really good...way cheaper than online distributors and no shipping. I bought Blu Ray movies in great condition for $3-4 dollars. I checked out and again found the service so subpar. No one asked if I found everything I wanted or even thanked me for visiting.
