When tenants used a home steamer that didn't effectively pick up water, leaving the carpet soaked in spots, they quickly responded with humidifiers, steam cleaning and enzyme treatment. Later, unsupervised pets caused some carpet damage, including ripped areas. Thankfully, South Texas Carpet offers carpet repair, which was a huge relief. Standout features of this company is their responsiveness and reliability and the potential to use them for other services like tile/grout cleaning, air duct cleaning etc. They've always been dependable whenever I've needed them. The only reason I said 4.5 stars is that they recently requested payment upfront and while they were accommodating--considering my reluctance to pay large amounts upfront due to past experiences with small businesses--they kept mentioning a 20% late charge if I didn't pay within the same day. As a repeat customer who always pays directly after the work is checked, I was surprised by this change and their hesitation to leave an invoice since I wasn't present. It's their right to charge extra late fees for Next Day Payments, and perhaps they have been burned by customers and are being more adamant about timely payments? But it wasn't me and I felt slightly offended. Additionally, I think their enzyme treatment for bacteria and microbes could benefit from a longer application time for stronger odors. They returned once for a persistent smell, and while they re-applied the treatment, I believe letting it sit longer could improve results and reduce the need for additional trips/treatments in the long run. Nevertheless, this is the best carpet cleaner I've had in San Antonio. I will definitely call them again for future services, and I appreciate that they're willing to return if needed.

I dropped it off to their shop (for a lower price than on-site cleaning) and 2 days later, I picked it up. The owner, Carlos, was very knowledgeable-told me more about it than the seller. And on top of that, he gave me an unexpected deal because of a stain on the side that they couldn't get out...which was no real issue for me. When I dropped it off, we discussed the…read morerestoration and was told it would take about a month to complete which made sense based on previous research on restoration processes. About 3 weeks after we dropped it off, I received an email and text stating the rug was ready for pick-up. But when I went to pick it up, I was told it was not ready and the 'system' sometimes sends out false messages. About a week and a half later, I received another message the rug was ready for pick-up. Once at the store, I inspected the rug and was shocked and somewhat incensed at what I was looking at. The rug was destroyed. Instead of restoring the damaged portions, they cut them off and sewed new binding/edges. Had I known they were going to do that, I would have never taken my rug to them to restore. They blamed it on a communications issue. I took the rug to them to restore based on favorable reviews, their name "Aladin Cleaning and Restoration," and longevity. There are companies in San Antonio that actually do restore rugs, I just chose the wrong one that does not have the capability and capacity to do so. The rug they destroyed was purchased when we lived in Europe and has significant sentimental value ... can never be replaced! Now it is going to cost significantly more to have the carpet restored based on Aladin's actions.
