2007 FXDB- Paint, open belt drive, foot clutch, jockey shift.
mike z.

Great service, good communication, fair price and work completed in the time frame discussed. I have a 2007 FXDB that I originally took to the HD dealer for a fluid change only to discover that the primary chain tensioner had failed. Instead of going down the OEM path I wanted to go with an open belt drive and was referred to Comanche. After meeting with Vince I decided to roll the dice, he went and picked up the bike since the primary was already torn down. I was one of those customers who had an idea of what I wanted but not a super clear vision. After some discussion and consultation with Vince we concluded to add foot clutch, jockey shift and surprisingly backdating the paint. Up front it was understood that I was in no hurry, i'm a firm believer that custom work shouldn't be rushed. A few months later I got my bike back and after a fair amount of seat time I can say the result was the right decision. Clutch is smooth, shifter is balanced, the dry clutch and belt drive sound great. I can totally recommend this shop.

Good guys. Very knowledgeable anything Harley and high performance. Got my 2012 Harley Road King Dyno tuned. The guys at Comanche came highly recommended by the guys at Simi Harley. Disregard anything negative or bad you read older than a year. The shop has been under new management, and these guys really seem to go that extra mile to keep their costumers happy. Just Dave

I'm not one who easily admits defeat, but I do know when I'm stuck and need a helping hand. I'll see you guys soon at Comanche. The shovel Bobber I'm building just refuses to let me get beyond the starter, solenoid, relay, xxxing issue. Last time I visited Vince, Evan was nice enough to tell me "AGAIN" what to do... even took a picture of his drawing for the wires. WTF, mine just won't turn over. Vince says, "Use our trailer and bring it here" WELL, OK! Next week I'll do that. After Phoenix Bike Week Run. So, I have brought many riding bros to Comanche, Bruce/Paul/Wayne ++, and whenever I run to Sturgis, I bring my bagger in for their expert once over. Don't know about you, but I don't like my babies spending time anywhere but home with me. I'd rather do it myself, but sometimes we just can't. if you know what I mean. Let these boys do your next service or fix, you will be pleased. Tell them Mike the Weatherman said so.

My main Harley which I have had since 2001 has never run better. The shop is amazing and the guys are great. A very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere unlike most HD shops. If you live in the Ventura County area or west side of San Fernando Valley area you should stop in, you will not regret it. I like it so much I know spend three days a week here just to help out.

This was my go to shop for my bike. Going to miss Vince and his crew. Unfortunately Vince retired and Comanche Cycles is closed.

But it had major issues, so I figured well, it's free, so I'll just go get everything fixed and then I'll give it back to him for the kind act of letting me use it. When I first arrived, he was on the phone, and I sat there for literally 15 minutes while he talked to a person, and then took another call for another 10 minutes while I sat there in his office, waiting for him to get off the phone. I should've left right then. The bike had a serious coolant leak, bad rear brake, a rear tire that had been burned on one spot all the way down to the threads, which I didn't know, the clutch was terrible, and worst of all, and the thing that I wanted to fix the most was that the bike sputtered when you took off, and this with a bad clutch as well, which made the bike actually quite dangerous to ride, This is what I wanted him to fix most besides the coolant leak. I had already done a bunch of research about it and found that this was a failing common to this model 2002 YZF-600R, which is the little cousin of the Yamaha R6. I told him as respectfully as I could that I had done a lot of research and the problem was almost always one of the coils on one of the cylinders and that the fix was pretty simple. He said with all the bravado I'm sure he could muster, and I'm paraphrasing, "well I have a whole bunch of other sources that have actually worked on bikes for many years "or something like that, completely dismissing anything I had said to him. So instead, he rebuild all four carburetors which cost me $1400. Totally unnecessary. I also said to him, please look over the entire bike, examine it and tell me what it needs and please find anything that needs fixing and I'll pay for it. I dropped the bike off in mid December. Two weeks or three weeks later, I called him and he said he hadn't had time to look at it. I called two weeks later and he said the same thing. Right before I was ready to just come get the bike, and go to someone else, he said he was waiting for some back ordered parts from China. Or somewhere. And every time I called him, he said they were back ordered and he still hadn't received them. These were just hoses. Finally in like March he said that the hoses had arrived, but they were the wrong ones. And then he said the old ones are OK so I'll just put those in. I came to get the bike, the sputter was still there, I found the horribly defective rear tire, that was a horrible accident, waiting to happen, noticed the clutch was the same as when I left it, and the sputtering was still there,. When I called him and told him about this, he said that he had ridden it and he didn't notice that. That's absolute bullshit. Anyone that's ever ridden a motorcycle,( I have ridden motorcycles, my whole life and I'm 55 years old) known immediately that that bike sputtered when you were initially taking off. So he said bring the bike back and I'll look at it again. He lied straight to my face. I'm sure of it. Reluctantly, I did take it back because I already had so much invested I wasn't gonna go anywhere else. He called me in May. This is five months after I drop the bike off. Five. Months. And guess what the problem was? A bad coil on one of the cylinders. I bought a new rear tire and he said he would install it for free. When I showed up, he said he needed $100 for the rear tire installation and then I told him that he had told me that he would install the rear tire for free. Then he got all shitty and said " why don't we just stop this here and you can just go. Take the bike." This guy had my bike for five months, totally ignored everything I said about what I wanted, charge me $1400 for something it didn't need, failed to inspect the motorcycle, didn't adjust the clutch, and totally lied about riding the bike after he had rebuilt the carburetors, unnecessarily. I have no doubt that this guy is a good motorcycle mechanic. And I have no doubt that he has his fans. And I also have no doubt that he can fix your motorcycle. But you better ask him when you're gonna get it back, because if you don't, he might keep it for five damn months and not fix it.

First time customer. Recently moved here from out of state…read more I personally installed a Rekluse clutch on my FE501. Once installed and broken in I had some concerns with engine idle rpm's, clutch drag and possibly some clutch slippage in the higher RPM's. I called and explained my concerns over the phone and Jack obviously wanted to take a look. I scheduled a date later in the week that worked for my schedule and explained that I was in zero hurry to get the bike back. Brought the bike in for what I thought was gonna be a drop off and pick up at a later date. He looked busy with a shop full of bikes. Instead, he let me explain my installation process/ breaking in and asked some questions and then explained some nuances of the Rekluse as it pertains to my bike. Jack then made some adjustments to the idle and slave cylinder and then pointed out the perfect amount of performance. He then took it for a ride to address my possible slippage at higher rpm's. Once back, he explained to me again some more performance tips. Jack happily gave me 20min of his morning, free of charge, and I walked away with a perfectly tuned clutch and more knowledge. Truly appreciate him going above and beyond when sharing his knowledge about my bike and these clutches. Doesn't stop there. Just as I was about to jump into my truck he came back out and coached me on necessary future performance adjustments and recommended shortening the oil change interval. He fixed my bike and I walked away with knowledge from a true pro. I will definitely be bringing my moto back once it's time for significant service needs.

First let me start off with saying I live in Santa Clarita. Jacks shop is not exactly proximal to…read moreme. Plenty of closer shops right by me. That being said, I still drive way further to let him work on my bike. Let's start with organization and cleanliness. Jacks shop is like a surgical room, it's clean and organized. while other local shops I've used would be akin to getting surgery in Tijuana parts everywhere, dirty as can be. Small things like that show the meticulous nature of his work. He did a valve adjust, valve cover gasket, leak down test, new front and rear springs, new seals on suspension, tires, moose install, coolant flush, fuel pressure check, and a bunch more. The problem. I needed to ride Sunday and couldn't drop it off until Wednesday before. Jack worked all day Saturday to make it happen so I could pick up. He even offered to drop bike off in SCV if my plans changed and I wasn't riding. This type of customer service goes a long way in my book. It's the reason why I drive further. Not to mention he specializes in KTM and Husky. Makes it nice to have someone look over my bike and make sure it's safe. I'm halfway decent at the regular maintenance but nice to have him to check I didn't miss anything. Well worth it to go here. No question.

Wheels were ready for pickup the following day and were nice and clean. Thanks again!

Sales - (5/5 Excellent) Service - (2/5 Below Average)…read more This year I purchased both a Triumph Scrambler and an Aprilia Tuareg 660 Rally from this dealership. Here's my honest review of their Sales and Service Departments: Sales: Brandon was outstanding to work with -- professional, honest, and great with communication. He kept me updated on the progress of my special-order Aprilia and honored a competitive price match on my Triumph. The Finance Department was equally efficient and transparent. There were no high-pressure add-ons or upselling tactics, and both purchases were completed in about 30 minutes each. I truly appreciated how simple and straightforward the entire sales experience was. Service: Unfortunately, the Service Department was a completely different experience. For my Triumph's first service, I needed a broken bolt removed to replace both clutch and brake levers, and to have the service wrench light reset. I was charged 1.5 hours of labor for a task that typically takes 15 minutes. The service light wasn't reset, and when I picked up the bike, the seat wasn't properly latched -- something I luckily noticed before transporting it home. For my Aprilia's first service, I scheduled the work to include installation of the quick shifter and heated grips. The total cost was around $1,000. Despite having an appointment and being told the bike would be ready by the end of the day, I was later informed it hadn't even been touched. When I returned the next day -- a four-hour round trip costing roughly $100 in gas -- I was told the bike was "done," only to be informed in person that a technician smelled a burnt-clutch odor in the oil and suggested I leave it for further inspection. No details, no follow-up plan, and no quick diagnostic -- just a vague recommendation to spend more money on a new evaluation. When I asked if a simple clutch test was performed, I was told they were "too busy." At that point, it was clear my time and investment weren't valued. I chose not to authorize more labor for a potential warranty issue, and decided I won't be returning for future service. Positive Note: Izzy, who works the service counter, deserves recognition -- always polite, professional, and genuinely helpful. Final Thoughts: Customers expect to build trust and confidence with a dealership's service department. Unfortunately, I left with neither. While the Sales Team was excellent, my experiences with Service -- especially with technician Eric -- were disappointing and have completely eroded my confidence in their operation. I would not recommend this dealership for service.
