Most of the graves that sit within this 2 to 3 acre enclosure are primarily from the 20th century and later. There are a handful of stones from the 1800s. This is still a very active cemetery with many well adorned gravesites from the surviving family members. The cemetery looks relatively well-maintained although a handful of older headstones are lying on their sides. There is still some space for future interments, but it is mostly full. There are three entrances to the property with a single gravel lane winding through the property. For the most part the graves are laid out in neat rows and some family plot areas, but there is still a little bit of randomness in some of the graves as to how they fit in. I did spot three historical names here that are tied to Austin/Round Rock history. There were several graves dedicated to the name Gattis (Gattis School Rd) and Boatright and at least one to Bohls. The Boatright name seemed to be the most prominent name in the cemetery. Two other names that I found in number here are Templeton and Summers. There are some service members buried here along with 3 confederate soldiers, 2 of them are of the Boatright name. If you're looking for a forever home or just want to check out some names of history, this place is worth a visit.

It is tucked behind some trees 20 feet from the highway, but not enclosed by a fence. You'll have to park on the Buck Ln somewhere and walk a few hundred feet along the highway to gain access. I was surprised that it was not completely swallowed up by vegetation and in fact has been reasonably cared for over time, perhaps by the road crews. It is a small cemetery dedicated to the Fowler family. Out of the 12 gravesites here, sadly eight of them belong to children two years old and less. Judging by the prominence of the markers, it's likely this was a local family that was probably wealthier than most. As to the significance of the family name, I'll leave that up to someone else to investigate. The photos included in this review add more insight.

The best way to find it is to exit on Richards Drive which is a very small rural street that runs behind the graveyard. There is no road in, no sign and no parking lot so you'll just have to park along the street. The cemetery appears to be fairly neglected with many missing headstones, some of them broken and others laying on their sides. It's possible that many of the original markers were made of wood and have since long deteriorated. From the looks of things this is very much a Hispanic cemetery and there are a few decorated graves from living family members, but most are lost to the passage of time. Most of the graves here from the early to mid 20th century, with just a couple from the last 10 to 20 years. There appears to be only one family plot that I could find while all the rest of the graves appear to be arranged in random order. All throughout the property you will see wild irises popping up through the ground which must be quite a sight come spring time. Unless you have family here, it's probably not worth visiting and nor would I consider this a desirable forever home. Photos in the review spell out the rest of the story.

Though it is next to the road it still sits on private property. If you try to go past the gate on the property you will set off an alarm. For an extremely cost effective way to handle final expenses, we didn't feel like we were getting sub par service; far from it.
