The team is always responsive to our requests and needs and always, always puts well well being of kids first. Teachers are valued, respected, and a collaborative part of the leadership team. And, it shows. They're comfortable bring up ideas or concerns, and are greeted with responsiveness. This is the cleanest childcare facility I've ever seen in my life. This is also the only place that I trust my child to go during the pandemic. they already cleaned and sanitized more than any place I've ever seen. Now that's even amplified. Not only does the whole staff love my little boy, and he loves them... Not only have they helped him grow socially and emotionally... Not only does he love going to school everyday... Not only is it's a collaborative team where teachers are actually valued, respected, and listened to... But. I will never forget the night my mother-in-law passed suddenly. Because of the team's responsiveness, I never worried about if I would be able to get ahold of him during a constantly changing situation. It's not only that. I actually felt comfort knowing that I could reach out to them at any point, get a response, and that response would be to fully support my child and my family in any way possible. I wish the pool was more accessible, useable for free swims (likely keeps maintenance down and expensive draining session when an errant turd slips out?), but other than that the recent upgrades on the jungle/playground make it still a fun spot for my daughter. Also, I like the bathrooms - they seem safe, great design for people of all heights, UV drying blowers, and it feels safe... like no creepy creepers are slipping in there unnoticed. After his class they gave him ribbons that said he was ready for the next class and one for completing his 1st swim class. He was so thrilled! They have so much to offer. Swimming, gymnastics is, preschool, huge indoor climbing gym for rainy days and holiday themed events. They have easy sign ups online as well. This place is AWESOME! Just moved from Houston Independent School district to the Vancouver Public Schools…read more I'm comparing them coming from a 5 star school in Houston. Building is old but it's updated, so it has a modern feel to it, you can't see much wrong with the school from glancing at it. School hours are from 8:30am to 2:50pm. They release earlier at their discretion sometimes. This school helps out families by doing food distributions twice a month on a first come first serve basis. Compared to the school in Houston, my kids believes it's better. The people are nicer, it seems less stressful to pick up your kids. In Houston, people are rushed, disgruntled, will sometimes get in fights about people cutting lines, in front of kids and all. Here it seems like people care about the students ALOT. They are tight knit in the community, a dog was loose on the playground, and tho he was friendly, the owner was called, cops showed up. A report was done, I got a message from the community bulletins about it online. In Houston this would not have happened. Idk why people think it's bad, maybe compared to other schools it's "not as good" but it is waaaaat better than the school system we came from.
