I wanted to be sure to leave a review on this location because first of all, there aren't any, and…read moresecond of all, it's not easy to find. I chose this lab without any idea of what I was getting into because there were no reviews, so I felt it was my duty to leave a heads up so you aren't wandering the halls missing your appointment time. This lab is in the East Wing of the St. Thomas Medical Center Plaza. There is parking in front of the building, but if that is full, there is a garage directly across the street. You will need to go up a few floors of the garage to get past the physicians only parking to the patient parking, so be sure to leave yourself a bit of extra time if you made an appointment. If you come in the front door of the building, be sure to note that you are actually on the 2nd floor since the building is on a hill (you'll need that information later when riding the elevators back down and trying to find your way out of there). :) If you came in the front entrance, take the first set of elevators (to the right I believe), just past the Radiology area and go to the fourth floor. Be sure to continue to follow the signs for the East Wing of the Medical Center Building, or you'll be ridiculously lost. When you get to the fourth floor, I believe you need to head to the left as you exit the elevators and are looking out over the balcony if I am remembering correctly. Once you go down that hallway, there should be stand up signs pointing to the Quest Lab to the left. You will need a mask, whether or not you are vaccinated, so if you're not usually a mask wearer (I am so I didn't worry about it), keep that in mind. Once you enter the suite, there is a check-in station to the left of the front desk. Then you wait until you are called. Though I ended up late for my appointment due to traffic issues and wandering aimlessly around the halls, I was the only one there at the moment, and they did take me right away. Two more people came in while I was there, but they got the second one in right after they took me back. I am not sure who the woman was who happened to be doing something on the computer at the front desk when I first came in, but I do know that she is also a phlebotomist, and we chatted about the specific equipment I was going to need that she didn't think they had. When my phlebotomist, Wayne, came out, he did not have what I needed at his station either, but after I politely expressed how much of a deal it was that I needed it based on years of experience with other blood draws, he understood and went to go find what I needed in a different part of the plaza. (Thank you Wayne and lovely lady at the front desk)! I also had a concern when I found out how many vials of blood he needed to take, as it was a lot. I asked him some questions and spent a little time standing there wondering how I should proceed. Though he didn't say too much except that he thought I would be fine, he was patient and waited until I made a decision. I decided to ask if he would stop if I told him I wasn't feeling well and he agreed. He ended up talking to me the whole time, even though it went fairly quick, (if you get him- totally ask him what his previous career was, it is super interesting!) and when I did start feeling woozy and asked how we were doing, he said almost done and was finished within 20 seconds. His needle prick was immensely awesome. I don't know when I've had a better one. Thank you Wayne and Quest Lab. To anyone reading this, I hope it helps save you time and trouble on your journey to find this lab. :)
