I'm sorry that I cannot give negative ratings for the Hospice Compassus in Columbia, Tennessee. My…read morewife has been in Assisted living Memory care for almost seven years with Alzheimer's and has been assisted by Hospice Compassus care for the past few months. I recently received notice that she would no longer be helped by Hospice Comapassus and was told that I could challenge then dismissal. I got about four calls from someone at Hospice Compassus and agreed to meet at my wife's room to discuss challenging the dismissal. I met the woman and NOTHING was said about the challenge. She had me sign a paper about the dismissal. As soon as I signed the paper, she left quickly and told me another person from Hospice would come in. When the next woman arrived, I was told that I would have to find a nursing home for my wife. This was very upsetting to me and I questioned whether The assisted living personnel were aware of the change. I was assured that they were in on the decision After she left, I looked over at my wife, and a tear was rolling down her cheek. I did not think she was aware of the conversation, but she obviously was. I did not go to to the Memory care the next day because I was angry about her being"kicked out" of the memory care. I was told that she was being dismissed from hospice because she had not deteriorated enough, but she was being "kicked out " of the memory care because they could no longer give her the care she needed. The next day (Friday) I went to the executive director of the memory care and questioned him about having to move her. He said that he had NOT made the decision and was not making her move. He did tell me that there would be a time that they could longer give her the care that she required, but now was not the time. The next week hospice showed up unannounced and removed her bed, oxygen and everything they had provided with no prior notice to me or the assisted living personnel. The executive director said that the hospice people did not inform him of the removal and knew nothing about it until one of the employees told him that there was no place for my wife to sleep. He did find a twin bed for her to have a place to sleep. The next morning, I received a phone call that my wife had fallen off the bed during the night. The Memory Care took her to the Hospital emergency room to be checked. Thankfully, there was no damage and she was OK. These people have lied to me and the memory care people. They have stolen things from the room. They have no business assisting those in need. All they do is make things much worse ! ! ! ! ! !

Friday evening at 7PM isn't a great time to go looking for help, but Stacey jumped in and by 9PM we had the support we needed to get us to the next morning's flight back home. Our nurse Eunice was friendly, communicative, anticipated our needs and made us immediately at ease. Ours wasn't the typical case, but I'm sure the urgency and care Stacey and Eunice showed us IS typical for them!

My grandmother recently suffered from a dislocated shoulder as a result of a fall in our icy weather. My mother knew I had spoken of the Always Best Care service and held you, personally, in very high regard. Knowing her mother was going to need some assistance, she took my advice and reached out to Always Best Care. After getting in touch with your Care Coordinator, she was immediately impressed with his demeanor, professionalism, and empathy. In the days since, your team has arranged for a nightly sitter who has exceeded all expectations. My mother asked me to convey her appreciation and overwhelming impression of the range of services, the quality of care, and the overall positive experience, thus far. When her father was on the decline a few years ago, she had some experiences with other "caregivers" that were less than impressive -- some were down right pathetic. She's witnessed so many negative experiences other friends have had with similar organizations, my mother was unsure what to expect. Needless to say, she couldn't be happier. She has just gone on and on about what a stellar job your group is doing and is looking forward to a long working relationship with Always Best Care. I appreciate your help with my grandmother and I'm so glad to know someone I could trust to help care for the ones I deeply love.
