I arrived at 5:02pm to find the gate closed and the staff at the gate turned me away. Her response was to come back the next day at 8am (when I'm working). I under stand operation hours, however the rigidity displayed by the staff was unhelpful given the small size of the load I was trying to deposit (a single couch). I'm sure there were still other customers inside at the time. The hours of operation are ridiculous as well. It is a disservice to customers for the waste station to have traditional banker's hours and not have alternate hours available during the week. These hours conflict with the availability of most working customers.

Upon inspection of my junk pile, I was quoted $290 for 1/4 of the truck and I got $20 off for online scheduling. So, $270 total. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. The 2 men worked hard and loaded up my crap in about 10 minutes before taking payment (they accept card) and leaving. The whole process was so simple and fast. My entire turn around was about 3 hours from logging onto their website to them driving off with my junk. Thank you Rubbish Works!

Both times, the drivers showed up unprepared for the job even though I left very detailed descriptions of what I needed taken away in their online scheduling form. Both times, they informed me that their truck was already mostly full and they couldn't fit all the stuff in there and they wanted to be able to bring another guy to help them. The first time, for the hot tub, I did accept their offer to reschedule because we had no ideas on other ways to dispose of this hot tub that no longer worked and a few other companies had refused to take. The guys did not seem very happy about having to take apart the hot tub and hauling it away even though the fee I was charged was really high, but I couldn't really blame them because I did not want to do it either. Today, the driver was not able to reschedule me while he was here and told me the office would give me a call sometime today to set something up for later. He then told me that I should just rent a dumpster and load it all up myself. Again, I got the clear impression that he did not want to come back and load up my rubbish pile. I wish I had known I would be having this experience again because I would have called another company to rent a dumpster prior to starting our demolition project and garage clean out. Thinking I would be able to have Rubbishworks pick it up on our scheduled appointment, we worked as hard as we could over the weekend to get it all together in a nice pile in our driveway to make it easier on them today. Lesson learned. The dumpster has been ordered and will be here in a couple of days for half the price.

Strict on what they receive ~ cardboard needs to be plastic & styrofoam free, broken down and completely dry. If you meet that criteria, then unload for free! Plastic needs to be very very specific for them to receive. It can get dirty & muddy especially on a rainy day, so appropriately be prepared. A little out of the way, but we appreciate that they are "conscious" in making recycling work.

I feel the company is cheating it's customers saying in their website they will be charged $33.00 until they actually get their and are hit with a Dry commingled fee of $29.00 I get that Dee.. also a Transaction fee of $14.00/Fuel surcharge fee of $7.00 and a Corp tax fee of $4.00. Very disappointed and will let my friends and social media know what a rip off the customer gets once theY pull up To the booth. Not everyone can afford these types of prices that are on Social security.

I put off going to the recycling place because I was a newbie and didn't know how I would be treated. The previous reviews helped motivate me. Eric and his staff were really helpful. They guided us to the big scale to dropp off the steel first. I kept calling it metal by mistake. They were very forgiving. Once we had the bulky stuff out of the way then we went to the main building and weighed the other stuff. I like that photo id is required and they mail the check later to cut down on meth heads trying to make a quick buck by ripping people off. This might be standard practice but I am too new at this to know. Overall, great experience. If it is your first time...they can tell and will work with ya! Oh, and we made a little over fifty bucks. I used Hauling 101 yesterday to clear out furniture and some heavy trash items from an apartment I moved out of. David, who I assume is the owner, returned my call in decent time and when I texted him back late night he confirmed a next day appointment without any issues. They arrived about 15 mins after the scheduled time but did text that he was having trouble finding my place, which is common, so no points off for that! They were efficient & quick even with an extremely heavy wood table that I wasn't sure they could manage so I was pleased with their service. I paid cash but he does accept credit cards which most small time haulers don't, so that's a plus! He also gives receipts. Their prices are fair & listed on their CL ad, small/regular loads 500lbs or less at this time (June 2015) was $120 flat and I believe he goes up to 2500lbs in one load. No upcharging for stairs or other items that I was told of or charged. I've used haulers in other states and that is pretty standard pricing. They were friendly & professional. Easy on the eyes too! ;) I would definitely use them again & recommend them.

I was able to lease my unit remotely, so that I was able to move in right away even though I showed up on a Sunday when the office was closed. Brian in the front office was great through the whole process and worked with the staff at my previous facility to make this happen seamlessly. The property itself feels clean and well-kept, and is well lit with cameras everywhere so it feels very safe and secure no matter what time of day or night that you stop by. Brian is always readily available to help with any issues or questions and is extremely kind and friendly. ***One word of advice: be prepared that this facility uses a tubular cylinder lock rather than a padlock. I showed up with the padlock I had used at my last unit and was not able to use it on the door - this was totally my fault for not asking what type I needed when I called ahead, but it's something to be aware of if you're showing up for the first time.***

Instead, I just came home to a postcard informing me that my price would go from $68 a month to $136 a month. Due to this omission of information up front, I promptly cancelled my space and took my business elsewhere. So now, I will forever be letting people know that Extra Space Storage just doesn't give you all the facts and lies by omission.
