Super helpful people! Good prices. Nice to clean out my basement of all the scrap wire and metal I have.

Did not give me a fair chance in my interview. I definitely was discriminated against identifying as a Hispanic/ American man.

Had a bunch of scrap metal and e-waste to drop off, and it was a quick, efficient process and everyone there was super cool.

I had several people offer to do the task, and settled on a fellow who was supposed to come today (Monday) to take care of it. After the time he was due to be here he let me know he was unable to do it so I had to scramble to find someone else. I found this company Slam Dunk Junk. I gave them a call and spoke with a very nice fellow, Scott who said that they could definitely take care of this for me today!! I sent him pictures of the 'junk' and let him know what the other fellow had quoted me, and he came in right on par with that quote! All along the day, I received updates about when the fellows would be here, when they were enroute and when they had arrived. The fellows that showed up, Connor and Tony, were polite and respectful and got right to work. It took them all of about 30 minutes to clear everything out that I needed removed! It was dark, but they had headlamps on their hats and did a fantastic job!! (they even did this with a stand in truck because their regular truck blew a tire and had to go into the shop!) From start to finish this was a smooth operation, VERY well run and managed and an EXCELLENT value for the cost of the job!! Hands down I will be calling upon them again, when I need stuff hauled off! Oh and after they were done, I received a message thanking me for my business!! Absolutely STELLAR!!

Recycling Adventure:…read more I recently had to clean out my garage and a couple of rooms inside our house in order to prepare to host some visitors from overseas for a couple of weeks this summer. I'd accumulated 20-years of junk! It looked like a job for Extreme Make Over - Home Edition, but without the army of contractors or Sears and Ty Pennington to help. It almost looked like an episode of Oprah about folks who hoard everything! I had all the usual junk that would typically be recyclable curbside, but I had both too much of it for a single curbside load, as well as plenty of 'stuff' that wasn't on the curbside list of recyclables (like block Styrofoam packaging, etc). Of course, some of the stuff I wanted to jettison was perfectly reusable and I didn't want it to simply get tossed (working, but old computer and home electronics stuff, etc). And while some of the stuff qualified as Salvation Army and Goodwill candidates, some didn't. I discovered Portland's Metro Recycling Web-Site and Hot-line and they supplied me with a list of local resources for all the various types of junk that I wanted to recycle, including the block Styrofoam packing material. Besides their hot-line phone number, their web-site has a nifty search feature that taps into their huge database of local recyclers for everything from soup-to-nuts (so-to-speak). http://www.oregonmetro.gov/index.cfm/go/by.web/id=1383 It is a handy service that just works!

Unfortunately, it was a little damaged and I didn't want to take on the repair. But that's how shopping here goes: check the inventory frequently, cross your fingers that they have the right size or enough of the thing you need, and accept that even if it doesn't work for you it is going to a better home and not the dump. They've got inventory of all kinds, but I'd say primarily it's cabinets, sinks and tubs, lighting, wood, doors and windows. They do have a website with some online inventory and you can always call ahead to see if something is still in stock. I especially appreciate their education opportunities. I've taken a few classes about building tables, and a little free library, and I'm signed up for my next class with them about tiling!

I had forgotten how many fun items they had to search through! They have about everything you can think of from doors to drawers to cabinets to lighting. The first technician, Peyton, was incredibly kind and reassuring -- he told me he'd seen way worse and instantly put me at ease. He was polite, professional, and efficient, and I only needed to be out of the house (along with my cat) for about an hour while he sprayed. You're guaranteed three sprays for one initial price, which I found to be very reasonable. When the second spray date came around, I was running behind -- my cat wasn't in her carrier, my stuff wasn't ready, and I was flustered. Peyton patiently waited for me to get everything together and even helped carry a few things to my car! That kind of kindness is rare and so appreciated. By the third spray, I had a new technician named Isaac, who was just as friendly and patient as Peyton (again, I wasn't quite ready -- when they say 11 to noon, expect 11 promptly! ). Both technicians were fantastic: professional, punctual, and genuinely kind people who made a stressful situation so much easier. I can't recommend Campbell Pest Control enough -- their customer service alone deserves five stars. Every time I called, a real person answered the phone - no robots whatsoever. I even spoke with the owner, Austin, who was extremely kind and is the reason I'm writing this review.

We had Campbell out a couple of time, but it got worse instead of better. Then they sent Darryl, and he earned our eternal gratitude. He found ant trails we didn't even point out, or know we had, and figured out where they were going to and coming from. He went into rooms that we hadn't reported a problem in (with permission, of course...) and showed us where additional ant activity was. Then he baited incredibly carefully, to ensure our cats would not be at risk of exposure to the bait. (Our cats loved Darryl too!) He even followed up with a text a few days later, saying he was thinking about our job, and he wanted to know if the situation had improved! Who does that?! It had improved, by 85 - 90%, but we still saw ants. So he returned and spent an equal amount of time and patience identifying their sources. Darryl has made a tremendous difference in our ability to enjoy our home He is a treasure, and a super nice person, Thanks Darryl, and thanks to Campbell for sending him!!
