They were nice, organized and on time and everything like that, but I needed a piano removed and I called to ask if they did that and they said yes they do, so I figured it would be fine and they would have the right tools/skills/experience to do it properly. Unfortunately they scratched my wood floor and concrete walkway on their way out. I understand a piano is heavy, but I expected them to have handled this without damaging my property. I am sure they are great for any other types of garbage and junk removal, but I would not recommend them for a piano removal. read more

This location also operates as a U-Haul dealer. I needed to rent a truck, but I was unable to reserve one because I did not know when my driver would be available. The U-Haul website indicated you can just walk into a dealer and rent a truck if they have one available. I went to the counter and explained what I needed. The man there told me that I had to make a reservation because it was "faster." I explained that I am visually impaired and cannot make a reservation on my phone because I cannot see it well enough. He told me he did not want to help me. When I explained to my brother what the situation was, the man told me to leave because I was "talking behind his back." This team was hired by my Estate Sale coordinator and arrived the day after the sale to remove unsaleable items as well as items to discard. They were absolutely a blessing as the young men went up into the attic to remove heavy items I was unable to get down. Great experience with Good Garbage today! I just moved to a new place, and had a ton of stuff left in my old place that I wanted to get rid of (and very little time to take care of it). Lots of random household items like bedding, books, lamps, CDs, cookware, etc., perfectly donatable stuff, and a small pile of throw-away stuff. By myself, it would have taken several hours and carloads to clear out. Josiah and Brian showed up on time, and were able to clear out in less than 30 minutes! Such a relief to not have to manage the load by myself, and to know that they are going to take care of donatables for me too. I originally booked the job with a large national chain, because that was all I knew. So glad I decided to take the time to research other options, and wound up finding these guys (and canceling my other reservation). Not only were they a breeze to work with, their prices are significantly lower than 1-800-something-something. I learned a good life lesson, too. The guys that arrived to collect my bulky trash were on time, polite, and professional. Price was a bit steep for what I had to throw away, the volume certainly wasn't an 1/8th of the truck, but trying to throw out bulky items in Portland is pretty frustrating so this was definitely easier and I prefer to support local outfits. My one complaint? They hold onto your check. Even after calling and asking "please cash my check" and being told it will be done the next day, it still takes forever. In fact, as I write this review, it's been 10 days and counting since I wrote the check. Six days since I called and asked them to cash it. Some people do strictly online banking and having that sum of money just hanging out there is very frustrating. So, if you need trash pick up, I recommend these guys. But pay them in cash. Otherwise they will not only take away your trash, but also hold your bank account hostage for an indefinite amount of time. read more

These guys screwed me. I asked them to come out last week and take a look at my dirt, make sure they could deal with it, get their truck into my driveway, and give me a quote. We talked, arranged a deal and they said they would return. Upon returning, they tripled their quote and made up a bunch of excuses, saying the pile grew by more then double, etc.. Total BS. Very displeased as this was combined with another job that was supposed to start immediately after. These guys suck! I mean seriously, it took 2 yards of gravel to fill the space, and so the dirt couldn't have been more than twice that, but they said I had 10yrds of dirt. read more

When I called they offered to come the next day, but I asked them to wait so I could get my "going to the dump" pile ready. I was on a tight deadline moving across the country, was told they could come Monday but that they would meet with me Saturday to see what I had.
