Recently, several public golf courses on the Missouri side of the river must think they are something special. The rates have gone up and the courses have not kept up on 75% of our local layouts. Annbriar has been different. They've kept up the course nicely and their prices have settled in to slightly better than average for similar courses. Courses like Tappawingo and Aberdeen are not taking good care of their links but they are raising their prices. I'd much rather drive 30 minutes, pay $10-$25 less per round on a better course! Only minor critique is their younger staff need to be coached a bit on customer service. They guys at the bag drop are fine, but some of the staff working the bar / snack counter aren't rude, but it is clear, you're not their first priority. If you love a good golf design at a great price, head to Columbia and play Annbriar!

He said we missed too many swings and were not keeping up with the pace of play. However, at each hole we waited about 5-10 minutes as the whole course was backed up. We asked the players in front and behind us if they were told anything similar and they said no and that we were playing at a good pace. We were the only group of women on the course and the only ones asked to leave. I would not recommend this course to beginners or women as they do not want you golfing on their course.

The rental clubs were top notch Taylor Made irons and woods and the putter was a very nice Taylor Made Spider X. The course was awesome. It's short even from the yellow tees, but it's fun and fair. Greens fees were inexpensive, especially as a guy used to paying Phoenix green fees. Green fees and rental clubs worked out to about $100. What a deal. Thanks to the pro shop staff for being so welcoming as well.
