I had a consult with Markie for blonde highlights and to blend in my roots but since Markie couldn't do highlights at the moment, she deferred me to Tomy. I didn't know I was in for a treat. I showed Tomy pics of what I wanted and he insisted that the color I wanted would wash me out and that I would not be happy with the maintenance since I wanted low maintenance. Initially, I was disheartened but I can appreciate his honesty and after he explained what he thought would work better for me yet achieve something close to what I was looking for. I thought I came in for a consult but he worked me in between his clients so that he could show me what he could achieve yet still make me happy. Mind you, the salon was super busy but the man is a multitasking genius! He did a toner and root scrape while Markie did my haircut and Yasleen did my blowout. Did I mention that my color was a disaster? Well, 2 hours later, what was flat and orange and 3 different colors was now bright, golden and well blended. My dark roots melted into the blond so seamlessly, you would think Michelangelo painted it himself. I absolutely love the results!

You know the feeling on those days when you have a really great outfit on and you want to see everyone you know when you leave the house? That's how I left Melinda's today after she did THE most amazing job on my hair that I've ever had in all 26 years of my life. I recently moved to Miami, and my hair was in dire need of major help after a poorly done balayage. Like everyone else, I was reluctant to go through the process of finding a new stylist (always risky) in a city that I knew no one in, and thus could get no personal referrals. After reading her great reviews on Yelp, I decided to give it a go with Melinda. The first sign that she knew what she was doing was when I called and asked for prices- she asked me to come in for a free consultation so she could take a look at my hair. I was actually impressed that she didn't want to try to quote anything over the phone, because truly, hair is such a personal thing and texture, thickness, length, etc. varies widely between every individual. When I went for my consultation, we talked strategy for fixing what I had and the vision for the final product. She gently corrected me on some ideas that I had (outdated highlights) and pointed me in a direction for a style that would look good on me. I left confident that she understood what I wanted. And... did she ever! Truly, I'm over the moon with what she did for my hair. It looks better than it ever has before, plus she was so sweet while doing it. Unfortunately, I have now realized that neither she nor I can ever move out of Miami, because I don't think I'll want anyone else to touch it in the future. Thank you so much Melinda!! read more

As crazy as this may sound, I was scrolling through Instagram looking through my most popular feed to see if I found any local girls with pretty hair & in the midst of that I spotted this outrageously cool peacock hair! Ergo, I clicked on the picture only to come to realize that it was a former high-school friend, so I took that as an indirect recommendation judging merely by Melinda's Instagram work. Fortunately, Melinda took a chance with me and scheduled me as her very first Instragram client and I now can proudly call her my hair SAVIOR! She completely color corrected my hair and painted it like an artist to give me beautiful before & after results (see attached photos here on Yelp). okay, first things first... Melinda is AMAZING. She is so sweet and makes your appointments entertaining. My mother, sister and I all go to her to get our cuts, color and keratin treatments. She uses great products that won't damage your hair, and is very honest with her prices --- aka. she uses the best of the best products for a fair price. If you've done keratin treatment before, you know it takes a while ... and I never dread my appointments with Melinda because I know I am getting taken care of real well, and am going to have fun! Today was my first time at Colour Splash with Melinda. I found her thru Yelp and saw that she had excellent reviews. I haven't really found someone that understands my hair until today. I'm so happy with the Olaplex treatment and haircut she gave me. I wanted to keep my hair long but I hadn't cut it in 1.5 years, the ends were pretty horrible.
