We purchased sod from this company. We have a very nice yard and know how to take care of a lawn. We decided to redo part of our yard and installed sod and added a firepit with rock. We had some very hot temperatures and started to see areas dying. We called Colorado Turf and asked them what to do because we never have had this happen before. The older lady told my husband not to worry it will come back. She told him to water 3 times a day and told him what type of fertilizer to purchase. We did it all. The new sod died! We had to rip out the sod we just purchased and install more. When we went to pick up the sod, they wanted to see pictures so we show them the dead sod along with the rest of the established lawn that was totally green and healthy. THEY GAVE US A $20.00 DISCOUNT!! Really?? I see other reviews with similar issues- in my opinion, trying to save a few dollars and using this company will cost you double in the long run when you have to rip out the sod you just purchased from them and replace it. In May, we ordered 2500 sq ft of sod from these guys and installed it. It was the healtiest, greenest, most lush grass I've ever seen. From the minute we rolled it out, it looked great and established itself quickly. 3 months later, it is the greenest lawn on the block. We were so happy, we ordered 1600 sq ft for the backyard (same prep/same landscaper-delivered 2 weeks ago). We roto-tilled 4" down, spread some biocompost, rototilled again, graded and laid the 1600 sq ft. From the minute the driver dropped it off I could tell it was diseased or heat stressed beyond repair. Before I rolled it out, I called Colorado Turf and told them it looked like a different blend and that it had larvae and bugs all over it. It was warm to the touch (inside the roll) and very brown. Liz and Anna Maria both assured me it was cut same day and that it would be fine. I watered this sod and prepped the exact same way as thr front and it continued to get drier and drier, indicating root failure. I called every day to let Anna Maria and Liz know of what was going on--they were more and more irritated, blaming me for not watering it, or incorrect installation. I called on day 5 and told them at this point the grass was like hay, yellow and crunchy. Anna Maria asked what I would like, I said "Some fresh, new sod would make me happy". She refused, instead berating me saying I would "never be happy". I explained that I was extremely happy with the front yard sod (it still looks amazing) and that I still wanted to do business with them. Anna Maria refused to back her product, instead refunding me the price of sod and delivery. I still had to pull the old sod out, have it hauled out and reinstall new sod from Kremer's (very happy), but in the end I was happy to have a refund. Bottom line here is you are rolling the dice on quality, and in my experience, CT does not stand behind it's product. My new grass (installed last week) is thriving. read more

I called the line, asked a few questions but had difficulty hearing because of a bad connection. The call dropped. I called back a few minutes later and the same lady answered. She asked, "did you hang up on me?" I tried to explain I lost service and she very rudely replied "You hang up on me, now I hang up on you!" (And proceeded to hang up.) WILL NOT BE PURCHASING FROM THEM EVER! They lost business today for sure because I needed a lot of sod! Extremely rude! read more

Pathetic customer service. They informed will be here by 11am, it is now past 3:45pm and still nothing. My father has continued to call the "owner" and each time she is disrespectful and very unprofessional. In a summary of what she said is, "everyone has problems, and there's nothing she can do." All in all, there are "problems" but do not be rude with your customers if they are not being rude with you. All my father is doing is trying to get an actual time of when the sod will be here since we are paying help to lay it, and unlike Colorado Turf, we are professional and like to provide our help with a time since they have been here all day doing absolutely nothing but waiting since we do not even have a time frame, or a no later than (time)! I ordered 1500sq feet on Thursday for Saturday delivery they told me that it was the 4th delivery should be around 1pm. At 2:30 I called to see what the problem was they sai.d that they were behind and had not even cut yet. Around 4:30 I called again and asked what they planned to do they said they could deliver but late than night or first thing in the morning by 9am. I called at 8:00 Sunday morning to check and was told driver was out but they didn't know when he would be here. 9:30 called again and asked for an update was told that they couldn't get ahold of the driver I asked for a manager to call me. 10:30 called and spoke with louann and told her that this was ridiculous that nobody could figure out if I was getting sod or not or what was going on again asked for a manager was told this was a family business I told her that made no difference to me that I wanted to speak with someone now that could tell me what was going on louann said that she would speak with me when I calmed down and hung up on me. I tried calling several times where I was hung up on over and over at this point I just wanted a refund but could not get anyone to speak with me. Finally a woman answered I asked to speak with her manager she replied they don't have a manager I asked for the owner so I could get my money back she said there was no owner then hung up. I called again and louann answered told me that they told the driver to turn around hours ago and that I do not get to abuse them then some woman who sounded like she had been in a bar all night started screaming go get your sod from someone else and then hung up again. My husband then called again to inquire about our refund and told louann that I was going to put bad reviews everywhere about our experience she replied she didn't care we can't hurt her with reviews. In my opinion people like this don't deserve to have a business I do hope this review hurts them read more

We bought our sod and paid for soil prep from them, the grass in certain areas was burning badly so we called and asked if they could have someone look at it. We were told the owner was in the hospital to call back on Friday. We called and was told she wasn't there . This went on for three weeks. Finally a gentleman showed up and stated it was bad soil prep, they didn't get the rocks out so it was burning it. We called two days later still was told the owner not it. We had probably called 12 times. I decided to drive over there and sure enough she was there!!!! She has a voice you will never forget once she started talking I quickly realized my husband and I have been talking to her over the phone!!!! I showed her my receipt and asked when it was gonna get taking care of, she says they don't do soil prep I laughed and said ya you do you charged me 1000 dollars look at my receipt. Then she says I talked to my lawyer can't talk to you. I'm in shock thinking this woman is not right in the head. She was very hostile with a horrible attitude. She definitely needs not to do business like that. Now we are having to go to our bank and ask to have our money back. She should of just done business right and fixed the issues. Stay away from this company when they make mistakes they will not stand up to fix them!!! Too bad we will not be able to enjoy the backyard yet!!!! read more
