I have had very positive experiences with the sleep institute. My PA, Kim Lindquist, is great. She's knowledgeable, concerned, and practical in her suggestions. The DME supply is amazing. I've worked with other clinics where they give you a CPAP and then figure their job is done except for the occasional call to help you get new supplies. The Sleep Institute lets me know when new masks have come out that might be a better fit for me. I go in for proper appointment to try those and find the best combination. It's not up to me to guess and order a random new mask hoping it will will work. Unlike other clinics, this one believes in follow up. They also allow you to order new supplies entirely by text which is so much faster. Finally, I was a victim of the Marshall Fire. I lost all my sleep equipment. The office was incredibly responsive in getting me new scripts and helping me replace the machines I lost. I can't thank them enough. I see a lot of complaints on here about administrative stuff, but I think some things take awhile because CSI really cares about their patients. They schedule proper appointments so they can spend time with you and make sure your needs are met. I have referred several people to them, and they also have had positive experiences. If you are looking for sleep doctors who will actually take the time to help you with your problems, and properly diagnose you, this is the place. read more

This is the absolute worst caregiver you could ever possibly get care from. They have the worst customer service department that hardly speaks English and never gets back to you. Also, I have not been a patient of theirs since 2024 and they are still charging me five to $600 a year and I have no idea how to stop them from charging me. read more

This place is a scam. I went in in March of 2025 for a consult for an oral device that they were advertising. This consult was presented as being free, but then during the exam, they told me they needed to do a scan and it was going to be $800. I told them on the spot that I wasn't about to pay them for that and that they had misled me. I paid my balance and walked out. Now, over a year later, I get another bill from them threatening collection for an unpaid invoice. This is a perfect example of what's so very wrong with the American healthcare system. It's misleading, full of hidden fees, and they don't actually want to help you. read more

The PA i dealt with a few times is very disinterested and like a machine regurgitating numbers. Their billing is really bad

These people are scammers. Very shady business. Their billing dept has different name and website, call ELAN sleep. They billing dept is a nightmare to deal with. Updating previous review, the care team / my provider became more responsive but still there were unnecessary delays and a massive amount of confusion about what I was trying to convey and the issues to remedy even when communicating via their preferred mode of communication (patient portal). Care team or office worker would respond to some messages but not others, took several days to get responses at times or no response at all - had to send numerous messages on same topic, eventually things got sorted out and communication speed and efficacy got better but overall not at all a great experience. Used to recommend this practice but in recent years definitely seems like it's gone downhill (at least on the admin side). read more

If you are thinking of using them, do yourself a favor and don't. I've paid everything and haven't used them in months, yet I get a ridiculous amount of mail, messages, e-mails for a $60 bill, now $75 b/c late. These people I initially met with were helpful and nice but my god, the billing issues are insane and inept. This is an oozing, itchy rash that refuses to heal and go away. read more

It's a foregone conclusion as to what they will recommend. They go through the motions to tell you that you have apnea of some kind, and will need a device. They keep charging above what they initially say. They never addressed the issue for which I went visited in the first place. It feels VERY scammy. read more

Started mailing my bill to my old address, even after having successfully sent it to my new address for months. Because I didn't get the bill, I didn't know I still owed any money to them, and without calling me or reaching out in any way they sent my bill to collections. First time I'd ever been contacted by a debt collector, I thought it was a scam at first because their web site seemed fishy. Took a while to verify it was even a real thing, and even longer to get it resolved. Months of phone calls and nonsense to get it taken care of and cleared, all under the threat of ruining my credit. Paid off my balance on the CPAP so that I'd never owe them another dime, and told them in no uncertain terms to never contact me again under any circumstances, as I was furious with them for sending a bill that THEY erroneously sent to the wrong place to collections. Never even got a proper apology for the nightmare they put me through. They said they would leave me alone and I figured that was the end of it. Until they started e-mailing me today to let me know they were now RemHealth, as if I give a shit what this cabal of jackals wants to call itself. So now I'm angry again. Literally buy your CPAP at cpap.com or any other online store that sells them. This place increases the price on everything by about the same amount that insurance will cover, so you're not even saving anything. I wound up easily paying out of pocket the exact amount I'd have paid if I'd just bought the thing myself, and would have done so without some scammy company getting me involved with a debt collector because they don't know how to address an envelope. read more

They are now called Rebis health or Elon Sleep and have been horrible to work with. I've been going round and round to get a badly needed follow up appointment with a doctor because they claim I owe them $54. I called the number they gave me to call for collections and that agency said I had a zero balance. So I call Rebis back and they say I still owe and will not schedule me. This has gone round and round at least three times now and for months on end. I've flat out asked how I'm supposed to get this paid and they have no answer. Just tell me to call the same collections company who always tells me I have a zero balance. They have zero interest in helping patients. Take your hard earned money and sanity elsewhere. read more

It took months for them to sort out bill amounts with my insurance, over course of which I lost track of what was going on and had no idea how much, if any I was supposed to pay. Then they sent me to collections for not paying. They also told me they would automatically order supplies for me and bill insurance. But they put my account on hold when they sent me to collections. After I resolved the collections claim (end of November) I called them to confirm my account was clear and asked them to send me supplies. I didn't receive anything for a couple weeks, so I texted their service number and asked again. Another couple weeks go by without a delivery, so on Dec 27 I have another text conversation with them requesting to order the supplies this year (I hit my deductible so wanted them billed in 2024!). Over a week later, Jan 6, they text back saying the order will not be billed in 2024! I told them they should pay for it since they failed to order it for over a month and now it's going to cost me additional money. No response. read more

Still would give a zero star if I could. Billing... is there actually an office? The number they have you call gets a menu that leads directly to "go to online..." or "you can text us..." They are charging insurance $250 to look at an AI output from a phone app and send boilerplate "everything looks good" text. Well duh! I can read my app results and don't need anyone to interpret it! If you've got questions: good luck! No one replies to voice mails or texts. I simply stopped that monitoring, and hope that stops those bills. And if you need a good laugh, go read the bio of Rebis Chief Medical Officer David McCarty that my bills say I met with. Never seen or talked to the guy. He actually writes this ChatGPT-like drivel: "His goal is to create a truly integrated, multidisciplinary approach--leveraging cutting-edge research, data-driven strategies, and patient-first innovation. With his unique blend of medical expertise, creative storytelling, and educational leadership, Dr. McCarty is not only advancing Sleep Medicine--he's reimagining it." **Very scammy across the board.** I met a few good employees in the ranks, but you'll never interact with them unless Rebis is trying to snag your business. There's more responsiveness to google-reviews than anything I have ever seen as a patient. Buyer beware. Run and run fast. Avoid Rebis. read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I paid for my CPAP outright in cash, yet they still continued to try to charge me for it, when I refused to pay for something I already outright own, they then sent me to collections for $120. They refused to continue service until I paid the bill. I gave in and paid the $120. 8 months later, they refuse to call my medication in because I am apparently 'still in collections' for the same $120 I already paid. I have had to call multiple times for an update on this while I am out of my medication. I still have no answers and now they won't even schedule an appointment (because apparently I need to do that now before getting my monthly prescription), because of this false claim from the collections people. This is accompanied with them continuously sending my medication to the wrong pharmacy, sending the wrong dose, and repeatedly trying to get me to switch medications after I made it clear I've been on the same one for 10 years and I don't want to switch. While the doctor himself was fine, the rest of the office and staff is inadequate and impossible to get anything done correctly or in a timely manner. read more

got a 24hr eeg. i've gotten one before at a different place and it was very neat and clean then, but not here. it was so messy when i got it done here. literal plaster all over my head and took over an hour and a half to put them on. it took me literally 2 hours to shower and get it all out. the wires weren't taken out for me, just cut, so I had to take all 20 something wires off my head and it ripped my hair out. i figure that the technician didn't want to do it because he didn't want to be responsible for ripping my hair. worst EEG i have ever had and just very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. like it is kinda vulnerable to get that many nodes out on your head and explain your condition and then have them be very and it also smells in there. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Abaolutely worst billing group I've ever dealt with. They do not know what they're doing despite sending them detailed instructions on my insurance . I've had this insurance for 5 years and know what I'm talking about. They have obviously never billed then before yet insistenon telling me I'm wrong. Even my GP is now recommending another sleep center and no longer referring to them because banging our heads against a brick wall would be less painful than dealing with incompetent billing reps. To top it off one of the reps hung up on me when I asked to speak to a manager. I've wasted 6 weeks dealing with them and now going elsewhere. Do NOT waste your time! I cannot a ciralteu describe how incompetent they are, as well as rude and disrespectful as well. This place has renamed itself to Rebis or Elan Sleep. The is no transparency on what they will be charging you for when you meet with the practitioners or have a virtual visit. They kept sending me bills saying they were not paid. I checked with my insurance, United healthcare, and the go-between, rally pay, that said those bills for those DOS were paid. I explained to the offshore office they have contracted for a call center, give them the data was promised a get a call back which never happened. I gave them the reference number to call rally pay to see where the confusion is because that is between them. And as far as I can tell they have never called them. The accounting department that takes care of the medical provider billing is different than the accounting department that takes care of the medical supplies billing. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing and the offshore folks handling accounts, if you can understand them, don't have a clue whatsoever. So after weeks of being threatened of being sent to collections I kept dealing with it, with the last letter after dealing with it last month saying they are sending me to collections, I have now overpaid them. Overpaying by a few hundred dollars I guess is better than being sent to collections? Like settling out of court? They sent me my medical records because I told them I'm going to go find another care provider because of all these reasons and not one person has bothered to call to try to resolve or deal with it. I will let the dust settle and then the next review will be with the better Business bureau. Or Colorado DORA I guess. read more

Dr Onate is a total jerk, acts like he knows it all. I made my payment for my in office sleep study prior to the procedure. Then, they wanted more money. Then more! They wanted payments for $170 and then another $45. I made a payment of $215. They gave me credit for the $170, but acted like they never even saw the other $45 and then kept sending me bills for my overdue payment. I tried calling them, but they showed that they had not received any payment at all. I finally agreed to pay them another $5, just so they don't send my "overdue bill" to collections and hurt my credit. Purchase your CPAP machine and supplies pretty much anywhere else and you will save a bunch of money. They inflate the "cost" of the items so much that even with insurance "discounts" you still pay more than you would simply buying them direct from an online supplier. The most poorly run medical facility I have ever seen. DO NOT GO HERE! I have reported them to Medicare Fraud Department as I was told I had to pay $1275 for a cpap machine, in cash, and sign a waiver, plus I was told I had to file the claim to Medicare. All contracted Medicare Doctors are required to file the claims. The information they gave me was continually incorrect. After 2 years of trying to deal with CSI and Medicare, I called CSI and told them they had 2 days to file the claim, otherwise I would be going to small claims court. Utterly unprofessional. I had an initial telehealth session scheduled for 8:30 this morning. At the appointed time, I could not log into their system. Over the course of a half-hour I tried repeatedly but could not gain access. (Over the years, I've routinely and successfully logged into Zoom and similar sessions; I'm not a technophobe.) Five minutes in, interspersed between those attempts, I texted them a sentence about my predicament. No response. A few minutes later, I telephoned. Waited 11 minutes, and nobody answered. At that point the voicemail system enabled me to leave a detailed voicemail message, which I did. After a few more minutes, having not heard back, I called again and opted for an automatic callback. There was never a callback. After giving up (having wasted a half-hour), I drove to the Boulder office, where the receptionist offered no empathy, let alone an apology. I asked about some sort of follow-up or rescheduling, but she offered no help. She said, "They did receive your text." I expressed my frustration at not having heard back, and, like a robot, she said, "I can let the manager of that department know." A couple of hours later, I accessed the Institute's patient portal and entered a message (summarizing what I've chronicled here) for the physician's assistant with whom I had the appointment. (She evidently had never thought to call, email, or text me when I didn't appear on her computer screen.) No response from the PA. I've urged my primary care physician--who referred me to this practice--to spare her other patients the hapless, rude treatment that I received from Colorado Sleep Institute. PS: The following day, I received a patient satisfaction survey . . . as if my appointment had taken place! At the end of the survey appeared this message: "Thank you for your feedback. Please feel free to reach out to our management team directly if you have any questions or concerns. We read every response, and strive to make improvements." Great . . . except there is no mechanisms by which to reach out to the management team. More than 24 hours after my appointment never materialized and my multiple efforts to reach someone in authority at CSI, nobody's gotten back to me. There's no email option, and they don't return phone calls. Nor has the physician's assistant to whom I sent a message of complaint through their portal bothered to respond. read more

I wish I had read reviews before I chose to become a patient here. The people are great - nice, knowledgeable. But .... it took me forever to get an appointment with someone. I had to be "seen" to discuss results - waiting up to a month to have them convey info that could have been sent in an email. I was forced to give my credit card to set up autopay for renting a machine - which they then used to pay all expenses (which we use an FSA act for). Now we are fighting to get our money back and the auto pay cancelled. Oh, and I'm getting charged by three different entities - smells fishy to me. The people I worked with are really good. That leads me to believe this is a management/organizational issue. Our healthcare system is so broken its not funny anymore. My experience at Colorado Sleep is a great example. read more

I have had it with the Colorado Sleep Institute. My initial Zoom meeting with the doctor went fairly well, although she was at home and no one was taking care of her screaming 2-year-old during the call. Things happen and I was ok with that. She recommended an at-home sleep study and I agreed. I was set up to pick up my study materials on January 21st at 2 PM. When I arrived at their offices, the receptionist told me they had no record of my pickup appointment or of the follow-up with Dr. O'Malley. I was rescheduled to Feb 4. When I arrived at their offices the second time, the receptionist told me they had been unable to get a response from my insurance carrier (Tricare) and had left me voice messages and text messages and would have to reschedule me again. While this was going on I checked my phone and there was no text and no voicemail from the Institute. Now, I was getting concerned. I asked to speak to the office manager and was told she was "unavailable." I then asked for her name and telephone number so I could call her later and was told they couldn't give that information out but that they would have her call me. I called Tricare when I got home (3 minutes to get to a person to talk to) and was told there was no sleep study request in their records. They were lying to me. The online reviews are in line with what I experienced. The manager never called me. I prefer not to do business with folks that conduct business this way. read more

WOW I'm glad I didn't actually go through with a sleep study from CSI. I had an intake that went fine. Scheduled a sleep study after the intake. DAYS before the sleep study, received a call cancelling saying my intake was invalid and I'd need to schedule a valid one. Wound up just severing ties with CSI altogether and not giving them my business. Now, over a YEAR later, they're trying to charge for the "invalid intake" and trying to claim that it was a post-sleep study review that wasn't valid...when I didn't even have the sleep study. I also have coworkers who have gone through with at-home sleep studies through CSI and had lackluster experiences. They all complained of being charged undue fees and enduring messy administration. read more

I strongly recommend that you seek care from a different provider. I suspect that Colorado Sleep Institute had my CPAP machine assigned to the wrong patient account. In my opinion, the care I have received from the staff at the Boulder office of the Colorado Sleep Institute has been some of the worst that I've ever experienced. The people I dealt with made me feel like helping the patient is nothing more than a bothersome nuisance, a waste of time, and a burden they must tolerate. The answer I typically got from nearly everyone at the Boulder location was 'no', or 'that's not my department', or 'you don't understand', or 'we can't help you'. There was no empathy, no effort to understand or problem solve, no consideration of alternatives, just NO. The majority of people were universally unhelpful and difficult (I think they practice being rude!) This wasn't the first time I have felt this way and it wasn't isolated to a couple of individuals either. The Boulder office of the Colorado Sleep Institute is a good example of how NOT to treat patients - they are CONSISTENTLY offputting, even demeaning at times. So my advice is to stay away from the Boulder office of the Colorado Sleep Institute - they are NOT interested in helping patients. read more

I truly wish I had read all the reviews posted here about Colorado Sleep Institute before going to them for in-home and in-clinic studies. I was recommended to them by Blue Sky Neurology and truly question their good judgment. Like other comments here, the professionals I worked with were helpful and knowledgeable. The PA I worked with, John, was very friendly professional and insightful. I look back now and kind of question his advice about coming in for an in-clinic sleep study which cost me $900 out of pocket. To compound matters, the institute scheduled for me to come in for another consultation and to pick up a C-PAP machine. They then had to cancel because they have no machines to offer, so I'm glad the cancelled and saved me the consultation fee. I truly wish I had know about their shortages before starting any studies, as I would have elected to look around and do more research.
